We have lived and raised our family here for over 30 years, building and improving our home as the family grew. Now that they have moved on we are downsizing our lives and ready to be traveling more ourselves. We are both successfully self-employed, Noreen as a Floral & Garden Designer, and Don as an Automotive Restoration specialist. Our businesses are located on the same property, but not within site of the Rental Home.
We have always enjoyed sharing our special 'Sweethaven' with family and friends and now, we look forward to sharing this area with others, as well.

Amazing cottage in the woods of CT. Big open kitchen/family room. Beautiful property. Centrally located. Gracious owners. Pretty perfect all the way around!
My husband and I stayed here for a month, and loved every minute. The owners are accommodating and friendly. The decor is cozy, warm, and inviting. The kitchen is well stocked and fun to cook in. We grilled on the patio many times and cut fresh herbs from the little herb garden right outside the door. We spent a lot of time at Twin Lakes, only a five minute drive away. The gardens are fabulous and so well tended. I took many naps on the screened in porch and we ate many meals out there with friends. We also hosted a large dinner party and there was plenty of space for everyone. The cable and wifi were reliable and very useful. One of my favorite things was walking down to the neighboring farm stand for produce, eggs, and flowers. So charming and convenient!
I would highly recommend this property!
This beautiful home -- so much more than the pictures reveal -- is so amazing that I found it very difficult to depart. We rented this home to be in proximity to my cousins' house for Thanksgiving weekend, who was hosting. While I love my cousins, it was hard to extricate ourselves to do our familial duty because of the beauty, comfort and coziness of Sweethaven Farm. :) There is nothing that goes untended for guests. The kitchen is indeed amazing -- very large and excellent 'flow' to move around -- and having both a living area and den provide varied activities to happily occur simultaneously. Even the smallest details are taken care of -- I was thrilled to be able to connect my iPhone with one simple jack to play music -- see what I mean? They've thought of everything, while keeping it Connecticut True and Simple. Don't hesitate to book this home ... you will be overjoyed at your choice.
Beautiful house and garden in quite a remote area of northern Connecticut. If you look for nature and tranquillity this is a perfect place. We stayed for three nights and had a great time. Everything looks perfect, the kitchen is fully equipped and the beds are great. The owners are very relaxed people who certainly love the house and treat it as if they still live there.
We met up with several friends for a vacation together. It couldn't have been more comfortable, fully-stocked, more beautiful, or more fun. Obviously the owners have been thoughtful with outfitting the house. It's close to Twin Lakes where we spent a lot of time on the water. For those of you that like to cook, this will be your dream kitchen--everything you'll need with an open floor plan. As soon as we left, we talked about our return. Not to be missed!
We stayed for 5 weeks in this house this summer, and loved it. The owners were extremely helpful, and yet not a bit intrusive. They were also completely unphased about my three young kids and large dinner parties. The house is both cozy and open, with a marvelous screened porch where we ate every night, and spent a great deal of our time during the day. The gardens all around the house are beautiful, and full of tufts of flowers and other attractions for the kids' games. A particularly nice detail, and typical of the thoughtfulness of our hosts, we're the fresh flowers placed in various rooms each week. There is also air conditioning in the two main bedrooms, an unusual luxury for the area. The main bedroom has a large window, and from the bed you feel as though you were looking out from a treehouse. The kitchen is fantastic, perfect for big dinners with everyone helping out and chatting, yet the porch, full of candles, is ideal for a romantic dinner. All these comforts, yet the house is completely informal and rural--one really feels one is out in the country, far from it all. And yet convenient: my son and daughter took riding lessons, and my husband and I played tennis at the nearby school's deserted courts, and went for trail runs at beautiful Bartholemew's Cobble, just down the road. (If you make it up the hill, you can look right over into Massachussetts and the edge of the Berkshires.) and let's not forget the farm stand, practically at the end of the driveway, surrounded by beautiful farms and forest. I cannot recommend this rental enough, either for a family or a cozy getaway.
