We live in Seattle and this is our Dublin vacation home. We stay here 4 to 6 weeks per year. We lived here for 5 years before moving to the US in 2010, so the apartment itself and all of its furnishings are of very high quality. The apartment was also fully refurbished in February 2012.
The apartment is in a superb, hard to beat location for walking to every major attraction in central Dublin, including the Guinness Storehouse (15 minutes), St. Patrick’s Cathedral (2 minutes), Christchurch Cathedral (5 minutes), St. Stephens Green (10 minutes), Grafton Street (10 minutes), Trinity College (15 minutes), Temple Bar (15 minutes), O’Connell Street (15 minutes) and the GPO (the site of the 1916 Easter Rising).
The apartment is in a small building of 7 apartments, with only 1 other apartment on the same floor as ours so there are no noisy neighbors to content with. The apartment is on Francis Street in an area known as Dublin's Antique Quarter.
Having been constructed in 2005 the apartment is quiet, warm in the winter, cool during the summer, with a small balcony and large floor to ceiling windows / doors which can be opened on to it.
The apartment has 2 good size bedrooms, one with a queen bed and one with a double bed. The master bedroom is en suite, with ample wardrobe and drawer space. The second bedroom also has ample wardrobe and drawer space. Both bathrooms have spacious, pumped, electric showers. The large living area has a 42” flat screen plasma TV, and two large comfortable sofa’s. The dining area consists of a coffee table in the living area and also a breakfast bar with 3 stools. The kitchen is modern and fully equipped, with an oven, fast heating hob and powerful extractor fan. There is a large fridge / freezer, a dishwasher, a washer / dryer, a microwave and a coffee maker.
There is free, fast cable internet service (with a wi-fi connection).
The apartment is located on the third floor (fourth by U.S. definition) of the building. There is an elevator and an intercom service from the apartment to the front door allowing for remote door opening.
There are numerous restaurants and ‘take-aways’ nearby offering a variety of cuisines, including Leo Burdocks, the famous Irish fish & chip shop. There is a small grocery store within a 2 minute walk, on Patrick Street, and a large one a 10 minute walk away on George’s Street.
If you plan on renting a car to see the countryside (you do NOT want or need one in Dublin itself) please ask us for our recommendations. Parking is available on the street outside outside the apartment - please note however that this is paid parking (approximately $3.50 per hour). There are also a number of reasonably priced parking garages nearby, for longer term parking.
We will consider long term / corporate rentals but PLEASE have your dates confirmed and your employers approval before contacting us and having us prepare a quote for you.
PLEASE NOTE THAT CHECK IN TIME IS 3PM. CHECK OUT TIME IS 11AM. An early check in or late check out may be possible but will depend on whether we have another booking the previous night (for early check in) / next night (for late check out).

Within walking distance of every major attraction in Dublin city, but on a quiet street not surrounded by crowds and pubs / bars which cause noise at night.
The spire of St. Patrick's Cathedral can been seen from the balcony (and the bells can be heard ringing), and, depending on the wind direction, the smell of the Guinness Brewery can be had when the windows are open!!
We just returned from 6 nights at this lovely flat. I do not have any comments to add to reinforce the wonderful location, the warmth and responsiveness of Greg and Clare and apartment amenities but would like to recommend a local restaurant just about a 5 minute walk away. A woman at the yarn shop, which is just a few doors to the left as you exit the apartment, told us to try The Fumbally. This restaurant is incredible if you like fresh locally sourced food (if they can get it) for a great price. They are open for breakfast and lunch with serving hours from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays with hours on Saturday too. We tried soups, salads and desserts and are left wanting more!
My husband and I and our 2 teens just returned from our 6 night stay in Dublin. Greg's apartment was perfect for our family. It is a beautiful apartment just as the pictures show. It is quiet and comfortable and has everything need. Definitely one of the best apartments we have ever rented. Greg was so responsive from the very first email and his sister Clare was so sweet meeting us and showing us around the apartment upon our arrival in Dublin. Look no further. This is the perfect place to stay. Thank you Greg and Clare. I hope we meet again.
Very clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. Location was close to stores, restaurants, pubs, and transportation.
This apartment was in a great location - within walking distance of many things to do and see in Dublin. Absolutely no complaints about the apartment besides the hot water (4 girls staying, so it was understandable).
Gregory was very quick to respond to my emails and his sister was kind and helpful when we arrived.
I will definitely book again next time I'm in Dublin!
Greg's place in Dublin was a great find on VRBO. We rented the apartment for the week of Christmas in Dublin. The apartment was conveniently located near the grounds of St. Patrick's Cathedral on Francis Street (Dublin's Antiques Row of sorts) and just about a 10 minute walk from the festive Grafton Street and serenity of St. Stephen's Green. An easy walk to The Brazenhead and Manning's Bakery, the neighborhood is truly Dublin.
From booking with Greg to meeting his sister at the apartment, the experience was friendly and efficient. We had four people stay at the apartment during the week, but also hosted a Christmas Holiday party for family and friends who were visiting Dublin. The apartment was spacious, comfortable and very convenient for hosting our small gathering before heading to Christmas mass all together. The stores nearby made it easy to have snacks and meals at the apartment during a memorable Christmas week in Ireland.
It was a great way to experience Dublin.
We rented the apartment for two weeks in the beginning of December and were always happy to come in from the cold and damp into it's warmth and comfort. The location was safe and ideal for walking to all of the major sites, great shopping, wonderful restaurants and charming pubs. The kitchen was well stocked, cable and WIFI were dependable, and there was no discernible noise from neighbors or the street below. The space is perfect for two people and can easily accommodate four. If you have a car, there is a safe, reasonable parking garage just up the street. But, there is really little reason for a car. The owner was very responsive and got back to us almost immediately via email with any questions that we had. As we were there on a working vacation with a stack of paperwork and computers, our only small issue was a lack of workable surface space. But, even that was easily solved by a walk next door to Oxfam where, for a few donated Euros, we rented a desk for the entirety of our stay and the lovely Irish lads who worked there delivered it to us immediately and collected it from us upon our departure. All in all it was a lovely stay and we felt a bit sad to leave. We would definitely stay again on our next visit.
