We were hoping that the apartment would be as nice as the photos indicated. How delighted we were to arrive and find it even more so! We were looking forward to some quiet time, and we certainly got it. My husband made us cappuccinos each morning, which we enjoyed on the balcony while we talked about what we wanted to do that day. Everything was perfect in the apartment, even a night light in the bathroom! Everyone involved was helpful. Now all we need to do is figure out how soon we can come back!
My wife and I have visited Orvieto at least 5 times in the past, beginning in 1998, and this was the first time we had rented an apartment instead of a hotel. We'll never do a hotel again. The apartment was even better than advertised...immaculately clean, well equipped, comfortable and beautifully positioned just a few steps from the Corso Cavour, the main street of beautiful Orvieto. Mandy and her husband were great. They picked us up at the train station, helped us with our bags, carefully explained the details of the apartment and were willing to detail the town's offerings to us even though we'd been many times before. For someone coming to Orvieto and vicinity for the first time, they would be incredibly helpful and would make the stay great. They arranged for a local rental car from Luigi (yes, that's his name!), got Wi-FI set up for us and generally were wonderful hosts. We met the owner of the property who was very nice. The apartment is in the perfect location and we will definitely rent this apartment again and again. We rented over the Christmas holidays so the terrace for dining wasn't useful, but during the warmer months it would be spectacular. This apartment is only steps away from a very nice grocery store and local hand made pasta shop. Orvieto is the perfect size...not too big and not too small with great restaurants, shopping, music venues, art, history, getaway for day trips and the like. What else could anyone want!
We called this apartment home for the entire month of September, 2014. We were extremely pleased with its location, furnishings and spaciousness After visiting the local bi/weekly farmers market (or the super mercato on the off days), we did a lot of meal prep "at home" with ease due to the well supplied kitchen. What to do while here? Visit the Orvieto Underground, stroll the Corso, take a train ride to Siena, bus ride to Bolsena, eat gelato, enjoy!! We would definitely recommend this apartment & Orvieto to friends.
My wife and two daughters stayed in this lovely apartment for two nights in July. While it is only one bedroom it was just the right size. The apartment is even nicer than the pictures. It is just steps from the main walking road in town and is beautifully decorated with everything you need. It has a nice little balcony and a view of the duomo from the bedroom. Mandy was a fantastic host and met us at the prescribed time and showed us where to park and spent about an hour with us showing us everything about the apartment. Even helped us make some dinner reservations. The first night we were there it was raining so we dashed to the small grocery store a couple blocks from the apartment and made a wonderful dinner in the small but well appointed kitchen complete with spices and olive oil. On checkout Mandy met us to make sure everything was good and we were on our way. I can't recommend this apartment highly enough. Our only regret was that we didn't stay longer. I hope to come back to Orvieto one day and stay here again.
I stayed 2 weeks in this apartment by myself whilst I attended I Love It School for 2 weeks language instruction. Located just off the main corso in a secure environment. All facilities were excellent, plenty of linen, crockery, cutlery for several people, wonderful array of herbs for cooking, oil and balsamic for salads - such a bonus when living out of a suitcase. Excellent washing machine, bathroom, outside patio, coffee machine - everything to make a stay comfortable. Unfortunately Mandy was away during my stay so I missed out on her guidance but fortunately met her on the last day. My needs were perfectly met for a comfortable stay whilst having the quiet to study.
Wow, there's not enough time or space to tell you how much you'll love this place. The town is quaint, lots to do & see. Wonderful restaurants, gelato, ceramics, the Duomo is amazing. Mandy is the most engaging, helpful & honestly caring manager ever! We went on two tours with Lois & Paul and made friends forever. We explored Etruscan villages, & hiked ancient Roman trails, we visited a winery & some memorable churches. The apartment is just outside of the retail area of town, off a sweet road/alley of cobblestones. Perfect accommodations, great linens, towels, shower pressure, bed, etc. The terrace was so great in the mornings & evenings with a wonderful view. We can't say enough about the place or the people. It was fun to shop at the butcher, the vegetable stand, the wine shop, the cheese shop...and cook some scrumptious meals. Mandy made some great suggestions of places to visit & eat, and even made us reservations at her favorite restaurant! This is a gem of a place, don't miss it!
