A vast conspiracy to make you happy… Straddling a ridge in an unspoiled landscape, overlooking the beaches basking in the sun, tucked away at the end of a long access road, MONTE SERRA offers peace and quiet. Children are SAFE as there is no traffic except for yourself, the neighbour and the shepherd with his flock. Moreover a gated wall seals off the pool area. Thirty acres of centuries old trees ensure privacy to 4 self-contained accommodations. The place is huge, guests seldom bump into each other but if they do, they probably meet a like-minded soul. The grounds hide many peaceful corners for some quiet reading or that chat awaiting a serene moment. Gardens and terraces with gorgeous ocean views invite to high tea, sun downers or a festive dinner. Take a refreshing dive, seek the solace of a pergola’s shade, stroll through the orchards and pick a grapefruit for breakfast or, at night, enjoy the starry sky and scent of ”dama da noite”, a flower that awakens when the sun has set

The former quarters of the farm’s caretaker became the Patio House. Guests remember the tiled panel gracing the kitchen, the surprising bathroom arrangement, the bougainvillea canopy in the patio and the dining area brightened by a large window with the lovely view of palm trees silhouetted against the sea. In summer, high ceilings and thick stone walls keep the place pleasantly cool on a sweltering afternoon; on the sometimes chilly winter nights the glowing wood-burning fireplace can be enjoyed from a comfortable armchair while hot air, sent through the house, keeps it comfortably warm. At the back, a secluded cobbled terrace provides a quiet private corner to relax, improve your tan or enjoy -almost all year round- an ”al fresco” lunch in the shade of Algarve midday sun. Choose a nearby walk or biking track, a famous golf course, a medieval castle, the scenic Guadiana riverbanks, a guided boat tour to the fascinating wildlife of the Ria Formosa bird sanctuary or the old town of Tavira where country cooking or more sophisticated recipes are served at very palatable prices. You are just 7km north of Fuzeta. From this fishermen village a launch will take you across the lagoon to lovely Armona Island for a swim or a stroll. Walk for 5 mins and this endless beach is empty! At 2 km, Angela's small yet well stocked mini-market has fresh bread at 9am and most of the daily necessities on the shelves. Ask her to arrange a free range cockerel for the pot or a home made ice cream cake for a birthday party. On Saturdays enjoy a bustling farmers’ market; on Sundays a have-it-all gypsy fair: socks or donkeys, cheese or fruit trees, BBQ lunch or riding boots See Monte Serra on Google Earth 37º7´26”N/ 7º44’45”W finding the pool’s half-moon shape.

  • ALWAYS ASK FOR OUR SPECIAL OFFERS! If your time schedule is flexible so will be our pricing!
    RATES include water, electricity and gas; cleaning after departure; change of bed linen once a week; change of towels twice a week; heating during the colder periods in winter and firewood for stoves and fireplaces available from the stockpile; baby cots and high chairs; use of swimming pool and access to grounds and citrus groves.
    Not included are beach towels, laundry, maid service, additional beds, babysitting, bikes, etc. which can eventually be provided by arrangement.
    Some applicable extra charges: A/C 35.-/week; extra bed 70-105.-/week, washing M/C 3.-/turn, bikes 20.-/week.
    Guests may be requested to pay a security deposit.
  • ARRIVAL and DEPARTURE.
    The accommodation will be available from 16:00 hrs on the day of arrival till 10:00 hrs on the day of departure. A half day up to a full day rent may be charged if the accommodation is to be made available before 16:00/12:00 hrs on the day of arrival or after 10:00/14:00 hrs on the day of departure, provided such arrangements are possible.
  • BOOKINGS, payments and cancellations
    A non refundable down payment of 25% of the rent will be required at the time of booking as a confirmation of the same with the remaining 75% being payable not later than 12 weeks before arrival date. Failure to pay timely the full balance will be considered a cancellation by Client. Following reimbursement schedule will apply in case of cancellation:
    - 83 to 56 days before arrival date: 50%
    - 55 to 28 days before arrival date: 30%
    - less than 28 days before arrival date: 10% of the total rent.
    Guests may be requested to pay a security deposit amounting to €350.- for the Casarão, €250.- for
    The White Stables or the Patio House and €200 for the Cottage (Casinha).

Wenn man einen "zeitlosen" Urlaub verbringen möchte und die Ruhe liebt, dann ist man hier am richtige Ort. Versteckt und doch mit einer großartigen Aussicht. Die Räume sind sehr originell hergerichtet, die Küche lädt zum Kochen ein (wenn man mag) und der Gastgeber ist sehr hilfsbereit. Im Außengelände gibt es lauschige Plätze und der originelle Pool lässt einem bis zum Meer schauen. Es ist natürlich angeraten, einen PKW zu mieten, aber mit der metergenauen Wegbeschreibung des Gastgebers kann man nicht in die Irre gehen.
Für 4 Personen ist jedenfalls ausreichend Platz.
Das Meer und das Wetter tun natürlich ein Übriges.
