ROMANTIC COASTAL COTTAGE

Dillon Beach Cabin Rental Photos and Description

Cabin, 1 Bedroom + Loft, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4)

Romantic, Coastal, Arts and Crafts Style Cottage, originally built in 1918 by Zella Lee Gibson, as her painting studio. The cottage has been lovingly restored by the owners, a wine country interior designer and a general contractor. Perfect for the discriminating renter who wants the best of what Dillon Beach has to offer. SIXTY SEVEN, 5 Star Reviews!

'Full Circle' has an all redwood interior, 17 foot high vaulted ceilings, stained glass windows, 180 degree ocean view, filled with period antiques, lighting and original artwork. Known as 'the cutest house in the village', at Dillon Beach. Located just 200 strides from the beach.

Upon check-in, you are welcomed with a bottle of Cline Cashmere wine (It tastes as smooth as it sounds), a fresh cut bouquet of white Casa Blanca lilies, Coast Roast coffee, a box of 4 custom Full Circle, Belgium chocolate truffles by Le Belge, live orchids, plush Turkish cotton bath sheets and robes, and custom, hand made organic Full Circle soaps from Hawaii. The two, new pillow-top queen size beds are made with 800 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets, down comforters, down pillows and Pendleton Chief blankets. The fire is built and ready to light.

Wake up each morning to the sun streaming in the magnificent front gable, stained glass, church window. Watch the waves roll in on the beach from your bed in the loft. Spend your days relaxing in steamer chairs and hammock on the patio overlooking the ocean or cuddled into the plush Lloyd Flanders patio furniture on the upper deck. Enjoy a sparkling clean hot tub with a whitewater ocean view and watch the sun set on the ocean. BBQ and have dinner under the stars on the deck. Fall asleep by the fire and to the sounds of the waves breaking on the beach.

A one of a kind place for that special occasion. The cottage has been featured in the Travel section of the New York Times, 'Elegant Bungalows' by Bethany Lyttle, on February 8th, 2008. It was also used as the set for the short film by Tarik Haddad, 'The Sound of a Yellow Flower', which played in the London Film Festival and the Dubai Film Festival's, among others. Gary William Kohler wrote and recorded a song about the cottage, 'Full Circle', that is included on his CD, 'Nowhere to be Found'.

This cottage is pure romantic bliss.

The cottage is meticulously maintained to the highest cleaning standards. It is cleaned with eco-friendly products for 4 to 5 hours between each guest and deep cleaned once a month for five hours. Down pillows are washed regularly and have pillow covers under the pillow cases. The Hot Springs spa has a sophisticated ozone filter system and is also thoroughly completely cleaned between each guest.

Dillon Beach is an old fishing village built right after the turn of the century. You feel like your 1,000 miles from 'civilization' when you are there. It is like 'the town that time forgot' perched on the edge of the world, overlooking the Pacific Ocean and Tomales Bay.

This restored, all redwood artist studio, is truly a one-of-a-kind and the perfect place for a romantic getaway or just simple peace, quiet and solitude.

Historic property. Dramatic backyard ocean views, smells and sounds. All Redwood interior, 17' vaulted ceiling, loft, short walk to the beach. Good bones.

HAPPY COUPLE

  • 5 of 5
Once we arrived at the cottage we were speechless. The careful attention to detail from the craftsmanship of the home to the decor and amenities was amazing. I've personally worked in some very high end expensive places...some that go for over 3,000.00 a night and I would choose this place over those any day! For a couple it is one of the most romantic, charming place we could have imagined. I just want to say thank you to Tom for the opportunity to stay and share this wonderful place. The pictures were hard to believe but once we showed up it was apparent that the owners and caretakers go through a great deal to make this place special.

PHENOMENAL FULL CIRCLE COTTAGE

  • 5 of 5
We absolutely LOVED this beautiful cottage. The owners have taken special care to add such personal touches to make it so very warm and inviting, and the ocean view was just an extra bonus! We really enjoyed all the cedar interior, the art, the staircase, the bedding, the patio, the hot tub, the rugs, the fireplaces, and of course the wine, chocolates and apricots! Also enjoyed a nice stroll on the beach at sunset and walking through the neighborhood.

We took advantage of several of the owner's suggestions too, thoroughly enjoying the awesome breadsticks and veggie pizzas at Tomales Bakery, yummy pastries at Bovine Bakery, delicious lunch at the Pine Cone Diner, ok dinner at Tony's, and out-of-this-world dinner at Nick's! Also loved hiking down the northern-most trail of Point Reyes, seeing elk and enjoying the rocks and crashing waves on the beach there! Just incredible! Also sampled some Point Reyes wine at the winery on the way back!

My favorite artist is the late Dan Fogelberg, and his last CD he released before he died was called Full Circle. I enjoyed all the Full Circle touches!

Special thanks to Linda too for having everything all ready for us! It was a wonderful retreat!

WHAT'S IN NAME (FULL CIRCLE) AND A DESCRIPTION (ROMANTIC COASTAL COTTAGE)?

What's in name (Full Circle) and a description (Romantic Coastal Cottage)?
  • 5 of 5
The name (FULL CIRCLE) and description (ROMANTIC COASTAL COTTAGE) really say it all. Once you step through the front door (or maybe even as soon as you step through the picket fence gate and admire the beautiful garden), it won't take you long to escape the stress and worries of everyday life. The owners of this home have created a truly wonderful all around experience for their guests. From the time we arrived to the time we departed we marveled at the beautiful and artful attention to detail both inside and outside. I could go on and on (what views!). We are Hilton timeshare members and have stayed at their offerings in places that ranged from Whistler Canada, to Scotland, to Miami, and Hawaii. While they each have their plusses (loved them all) we enjoyed this cottage even more! Should we find ourselves back in Northern California (high likelihood as we have come to enjoy it so much!) we would definitely like to return to Full Circle.

Pre-arrival you will receive a welcome packet with thoughtful recommendations on things to see and do. They were right on the money! But be advised, you may choose to do nothing (other than take long walks on the beach, sun yourself on the wind protected well landscaped terraced decks, or relax in the heated spa while watching the tide come in or out). If you do choose to venture out, be prepared for longer drives (the scenery more than makes up for it) with little or no cell reception (is that a bad thing?). But the payoffs are well worth it. We enjoyed trips to Sonoma, Healdsburg, and the Armstrong Redwoods State Reserve (each about 45 mins or so). For a closer in dining experience don't miss Nick's Cove (about 20 mins) and the Dillon Beach Resort Cafe is right in town.

Last but not least, we would be remiss if we didn't mention what a fabulous manager the owners have in Linda. The home is obviously well cared for (immaculate) and Linda should be commended. She was very accessible, friendly and accommodating.

Overall review. This home was as good, wait, no, it was BETTER THAN ADVERTISED! But don't take our word for it, GO SEE FOR YOURSELF!

LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS PLACE!

  • 5 of 5
Where to begin.....I came across full circle while looking for a romantic getaway for my honeymoon. We wanted something nice and cozy that was close to the ocean. I saw the photos and fell in love. I knew we had to book it! Tom the owner worked with me and was very kind. I made payments towards our stay for several mo tjs until it was paid off. He was very kind and very easy to work with. Upon our arrival we were greeted by the onsite manager Linda. She was very sweet and kind. She had just finished getting the cottage all cleane dup and ready for us. She took the time to show us around and let us know how everything worked. Our first impression of the place when we saw it was WOW! It was very well furnished with many quaint details, from the plush bath robes and towels to the hand made coconut soaps from Hawaii, did I mention the nice bottle of wine and fresh cut flowers! It felt like a nice home away from home! Linda also offered me an extra soap because I loved the way it smelled sooo much!! The loft upstairs had such plush bedding and soft sheets! It was comfortable to sleep on and the view out the large window was amazing. We loved waking up to such a beautiful view. The backyard had a lovely patio with sun chairs for lounging, and the hot rubb felt so good. You can literally sit in it and see the ocean. This place was definitely above and beyond our expectations. Tom and Linda were very accomadating, and on our last night there they even sent me and my new husband to dinner. We can't say enough good things about Full Circle and Linda and Tom. It was very clean, and romantic. We can't wait to come back again. Weare so glad we chose this spot for our honeymoon.

THE BEACH HOUSE

  • 5 of 5
My husband and I just spent a wonderful four nights at The Beach House. We rarely, if ever give five stars, but this property deserves all of them. We felt we were walking into a Julia Morgan home. The amenities are exactly as described. The ambiance provides many niches for cozy reading, enjoying the views with a glass of wine. We walked on the beach daily and the beach access is close and engaging. We had a great dinner at Nick's Cove.
We enjoyed cooking in the chefs delight kitchen. I cannot say enough good things about Linda who greeted us. It is obvious that Tom, the owner has an amazing eye for detail and quality. We will be coming back for years to come.

THE VERY BEST OF EVERYTHING

  • 5 of 5
Beautiful inside and out with everything provided and more. We were greeted by Linda, who immediately made us feel like we were seeing a long lost and dear friend. She provided an abundance of helpful information about the cottage, it's history, art and the local area. We didn't want to leave the warmth and charm of this enchanting place. We felt peace and privacy while enjoying time on the back decks, patio hammock and hot tub with beautiful sunsets every evening. Nearby Nick's Cove in Marshal had the best BBQ oysters with a beautiful view of the Tomales bay/inlet and, an ambiance that matched its "timeless" setting. We visited the nearby town of Bodega looking through antique shops and visiting Albert Hitchcock's filming site for "The Birds". The very small Bodega Grocery was filled with an abundance of memorabilia, pictures and posters from the movie (Not to be mixed up or confused with The Birds restaurant in Bodega Bay). This is also a great place to pick up fresh backed breads and dine in or take back a choice of New England or Boston clam chowder. We sampled all and then drove out to visit Bodega Head for a spectacular view up and down the beautiful coastline. On our drive back through Bodega Bay, we dined at The Tides restaurant in Bodega Bay. This place has an amazing fish market, fine wines and gift shop. We've stayed at some very nice beach cottages up and down the California coastline, but Full Circle by far was the VERY BEST.
