A traditional self-catering chalet in the charming Swiss resort of Saas Fee. The chalet is of traditional wooden construction with three double bedrooms, two bathrooms, two balconies, and its own garden with a slide and swings. The chalet enjoys spectacular views to the mountains and down Saas valley. We bought the chalet as somewhere pleasant and safe to go with our young children, we hope you will enjoy it as much as we do. We've included an LCD TV with international satellite channels, a DVD & CD player, iPod dock, free wireless Internet and a Skype telephone. When you arrive you will be collected and taken to the chalet, at the end of your stay you will be picked up and returned to the car park / bus stop. Saas Fee is a wonderful, family-friendly resort. Being at 1800m with skiing to above 3500m it has all-year round skiing plus there's plenty to do during the summer. Because it is in southern Switzerland Saas Fee enjoys on average 300 days of sunshine per year.

A freestanding traditional chalet of wooden construction. On the ground floor are two bedrooms both with mountain views and one with a balcony. Also on the ground floor is a bathroom (with shower only) and a utility / boot room. Upstairs is another double bedroom with mountain views, a bathroom (shower only) and an open plan kitchen/lounge/diner which benefits from a balcony and spectacular views. Outside the chalet benefits from a garden with a children's play area with a slide and swings, as well as an eating area for dining al fresco. The chalet features a comfortable lounge area with an LCD television and DVD player. A travel cot is avaiable for use.

We loved Saas Fee and decided to buy Chalet Hase for our young family to enjoy a pleasant and safe home for our holidays. The chalet is located in the Wildi area of Saas Fee, about 15 minutes walk from the village, or moments on a bicycle. There is a free ski bus (in winter only) which stops about 5 mins from the Chalet plus there is charming restaurant and bar just near that bus stop - perfect for hot chocolate or a swift beer before continuing home. It also does good evening meals. Apart from being able to ski up to an altitude of 3600 m above sea-level, you can also benefit from a wide variety of shops and entertainment. Whether you want to indulge in a little après-ski or enjoy a gentle stroll, whether you want to join in a game of curling or a night-time sledding run, there is every kind entertainment in Saas Fee. In the summer there are numerous walks, hikes, mountain biking activities to enjoy.

  • Chalet booking is managed by the local tourist company. Saas Tourist maintain the pricing for this property. There is a small local tax to pay on arrival as well as a fee for linen and cleaning.

  • PLEASE NOTE: During the peak summer and winter seasons we can *ONLY* accept bookings from Saturday - Saturday.

  • We have just bought complete sets of new luxurious Egyptian cotton towels from John Lewis in England.

Where in Saas Fee is Chalet Hase?: The chalet is located in a quiet area and offers plenty of space around it for children to play safely. It is also next to some of the walking and cycling trails around Saas Fee and one of the cross-country skiing paths. It is in a pleasant quiet area of Saas Fee called 'Wildi' and is about 15 minutes walk from the centre of the town along the road (no cars), but there are a few short cuts you can take. There is a free transport service (a pretend train) which takes you from about 5-10 minutes from the chalet to the ski lift area (and back at the end of the day). At the end of the day this service drops you off very near a small bar & restaurant (the Alp Hitta) near the chalet which is great if you fancy a hot chocolate or even a quick beer before getting home. Plus taxi services are available. The walk from the Alp Hitta is uphill but the uphill part is not very long. Your skis and boots can be kept near the slopes such as in Felix Sport.

Improvements: We are constantly striving to improve the chalet, for example we have put in a new TV, broadband Internet, a Skype telephone (use your own Skype account). We have spent a few days in the chalet this summer, we have put in a complete set of new Egyptian cotton towels from John Lewis in England, plus new crockery, cutlery and glasses. In the bedrooms we have put up new curtains and hung up some new pictures.

Wonderful resort with excellent chalet location

Easy drive from London to Saas Fee (staying at Holiday Inn Folkestone to get first train over which was ideal as literally only 5mins drive to Eurotunnel) with a few stops to change drivers. Electric buggy (no cars permitted in the town which is perfect coming from London!) waiting to pick us up to take us to the chalet. Clean and very well decorated chalet with fantastic views of the snow capped mountains. Perfect quiet location for a few late night drinks sat on the balcony! Walking and mountain biking routes straight from the chalet. (some not for the faint hearted!) We took our own bikes but there is also a bike hire shop. Good to pack walking boots. Ran out of time to summer ski but will certainly do it next time. Very friendly local bar/resturant 5 mins walk away with excellent cheese foundu! We broke the drive back to London with a stop at Champage to buy a few bottles. Owners of the Chalet very friendly, booking process very straight forward and you can see from staying here it must be their family get away with perfect spot beside the Chalet for kids to play on swings etc. Planning on returning to see what Saas Fee is like this winter! Highly recommend.

Easter skiing

We had a tremendous time in Chalet Hase. The bedrooms and other facilities were very comfortable - the drying room invaluable for sure!! We had three boys with us for a week skiing and the location was fantastic - the views and proximity to the mountain was amazing. Showers as opposed to baths was more manageable than we first thought and the sittingroom and kitchen facilities were absolutely fine. The DVD player meant cosing evenings in all tucked up under duvets!!

The only issue for us with three small children was the transport back from he centre of town which was challenging and more often than not resulted in legs rather than wheels and small children on shoulders!!! This was fine but needs to be factored in to timings!!

All in all a great week away in a lovely chalet!!

A delightful chalet in a beautiful location! We would highly recommend this charming chalet in Saas Fee. We found the chalet to be clean and well appointed with two bathrooms on separate floors which gives privacy if travelling with another family or couple. The chalet is situated a gentle stroll (approx 20 min) from the centre of Saas Fee, alternatively you can catch the mini-snow train (free) to a variety of locations within the village. A multitude of cross-county skiing and hiking trails pass right outside the front door. A short meander through the snow-laden trees takes you to a wonderful restaurant which we strongly recommend for an authentic swiss meal without requiring a second mortgage! The location of the chalet is ideal if travelling with children as it is situated at the end of a peaceful lane and provides a safe haven for all to play in the snow. Think Narnia!

Fantastic family chalet

We had a wonderful skiing holiday over xmas with our children aged 4 and 6. The small valley that the chalet is situated in is stunning. Our children loved playing outside and we felt very relaxed letting them. The ski bus is just around the corner (or over the hedge when you find the shortcut!), as this is the end of the line there is always plenty of space to get on unlike in the town where it becomes full. The bus is actually a pretend train which the children loved. The best part is you leave your skis and boots in lockers at the bottom of the slopes so no tramping around doing the moon walk!

The chalet itself is clean and very well laid out with a each bedroom the same size. The kitchen is very well stocked. However, we ate out most nights. Just around the corner is The Alpin Hut which was fantastic and child friendly.

To walk into the centre of town takes 10 minutes and is downhill all the way.

Saas Fee is a beautiful car free resort, we enjoyed ourselves so much we have already booked up again in the chalet for next year. The Saas Fee ski school was very well organised.

Looking forward to next time already........
