Begin your island get-away by relaxing on one of the wrap-around decks overlooking spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean and British Virgin Islands of Tortola and the Jost van Dykes! Uniquely situated directly above the 14th green of the Mahogany Run Golf Course, deck vistas include stunning day breaks and sunsets, as well as awe-inspiring natural wonders such as watching the pelicans dive in the waters just offshore or even an occasional whale sighting during the January/February migration. Enjoy your morning coffee while golfers take on the famous Devil’s Triangle – the 13th, 14th & 15th holes – just below your private gallery on the deck!
Each room has an expansive ocean view, and all but two of the rooms have direct access to one of the outside decks. The master suite includes a king size bed and a private bathroom with a shower. There are two other bedrooms, one with a queen size bed and one with two twin beds, that share a bathroom with a shower. The upstairs bathroom has a combination jacuzzi tub/shower. The property is fully air conditioned with a separate unit servicing each floor; although, it is perfectly positioned to take full advantage of the ocean breezes by opening the sliding windows or doors to enjoy the temperate, tropical weather. The sound of the waves on the cliffs below is simply mesmerizing – day or night!
There are more dining options on St. Thomas and nearby St. John than can be fully experienced during your week’s stay, but you’ll want to enjoy at least one meal from the deck! With a fully furnished kitchen that overlooks the Atlantic, your “inner chef” will relish the experience. Black granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances in the spacious kitchen create a beautiful setting for creating your own meals, or hire a private chef to come prepare a custom meal for you. If you prefer to grill, there is a portable propane gas grill on the upper deck near the kitchen. Patio furniture, including a table and chairs facilitate dining al fresco ocean side!
A trip to St. Thomas must include at least one day at the beach and there are many beaches to choose from, including nearby, world famous Magen’s Beach. There are plenty of beach towels at the house, and even a cooler in which to pack a lunch or keep your drinks cool.
St. Thomas is the largest duty-free port in the Caribbean, so shopping opportunities abound! The historic downtown shopping area offers a wide selection of local vendors, souvenir shops, specialty stores, and unlimited jewelry stores. Havensight Mall is located next to the cruise ship docks and features a variety of shops, including a gourmet grocery store and a well-stocked bookstore. The Shops at Yacht Haven offer an upscale selection of designer clothing and jewelry stores, as well as a great view of private yachts in the harbor. Unique restaurants line the docks for unbeatable dining ambiance.
East End has more shops and restaurants, as well as the Port Authority’s ferry stations – one for passengers and one for vehicles. It is a short 20 minute ferry ride to St. John’s with more unique shopping, dining, or beach-hopping. You can explore the sugar mill ruins or hike one of the nature trails. Taxi drivers can take you on a tour of St. John, which is primarily designated national forest, but features pristine beaches and a stop at historic sugar mill ruins.
Finish up each day by relaxing with a book or watching a movie on the flat-screen television from our book and DVD libraries. The surround sound audio also supports ipod docking capabilities. There is also a fax machine and a secure, wireless internet network. Various games provide hours of family entertainment or search the skies with a small telescope and star guide.
Whether your vacation style is quiet and restful or busy and active, your trip to St. Thomas will most certainly be memorable. El Beso del Mar – 'kiss of the sea' – will provide a beautiful and practical place to call “home” for your week in paradise!
