BEAUTIFUL 1 BEDROOM, IDEAL FOR COUPLES, COZY GETAWAY BOOKS FAST!

Jackson Condo Rental Photos and Description

Condo, 1 Bedroom, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2)

Located within the exclusive Aspens community, the Balsam Lodges are the newest buildings in the development, built in 1992. Most of the other buildings were completed in the late 1970's. This unit has a significantly larger living room area than other one bedroom units in the Aspens.

The open floor plan allows for conversation while cooking, dining inside or out, or simply relaxing on the sofa. Enjoy natural light and the ambiance of a very well cared-for home.

The kitchen has everything you need to create your own meals, new dishes and glassware, and a full supply of cooking utensils.

The bedroom has ample closet space and an extremely comfortable Queen sized bed (which everyone raves about - it will provide you with a super restful vacation!). All of the furniture in the home has been carefully selected from around the world, and is very well cared for.

The Aspens neighborhood is a convenient jumping-off point for any Jackson Hole adventure. Located half-way between Teton Village and the town of Jackson, the Aspens is a quaint neighborhood just off Hwy 22, complete with local shops, restaurants, banks, a grocery store, coffee shop, liquor store, and health club.

Quiet, winding lanes make their way through the neighborhood and one of the areas' largest Aspen groves. Enjoy mountain views and open meadows and streams. Wildlife abound - be warned these are wild animals - it wouldn't be uncommon to wake up with a moose in your back yard!

We look forward to having you visit our little piece of paradise in the Tetons! Come see why so many people return year after year to Jackson Hole and the Aspens!

About The Owner

A world-traveler herself, Anne has close family ties to Wyoming and the West. Her mother was raised in Wyoming, and father in Denver. Anne bought her first property in the area in 1998 while living in London. She came to Jackson because it was a place where she could get away from the craziness of life and be at peace.

Since that first property, she has owned 2 others, and rented them both out at different times. She sold real estate in the area for 10 years, and understands about taking care of properties in an effort to make them more desireable for renters to come back to over and over again.

Anne would love to hear from you and be able to share her love for the area and for this little piece of paradise, which she has created and calls 'home'.

The Owner purchased this condo in 2003

What makes this condo unique

Anne bought in the Aspens because of the proximity to the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort (3 miles) for skiing. (The bus picks up about 100 yards from her front door to go skiing!) She also loved the bike path, also right outside the front door, in the summer time. Teton Pines country club is next door as well. The commercial area with shops and grocery store is quite convenient. There are so many great things about the area!

Perfect location

  • 4 of 5
This condo is very cozy, warm and inviting. We felt right at home. This is a perfect location for Jackson Hole, Grand Teton National Park, Yellowstone, ect..

We rode the tram to the top of Jackson Hole and spend a couple afternoons in the Solitude spa in the Teton Mountain Lodge. This was great and the lodge is beautiful, both we both agreed that staying in this Condo was more homey. We also took a float with Solitude floats through the GTNP and went hiking around Jenny lake.

The condo had everything we needed or wanted and having a fully stocked supply of spices on hand to cook with was a big plus. The only drawback was the narrowness of the bedroom. I knocked my knees on the end of the bed several times. Watch out!

We will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Jackson Hole.

Nice Getaway.

  • 4 of 5
We were traveling through the Yellowstone and Grand Tetons Region and chose to use this condo as a base for a few days. It is a nice place to stay with easy access to both National Parks and the Teton Pass. The only thing I could give a slight negative was that the home(as most do in the area) does not have air conditioning. During our stay the daytime highs were in the 90's and it was a little uncomfortable until the evening cooling allowed the house to become cooler.

JUST LIKE HOME

  • 5 of 5
This condo was just like coming home after a long day at work... except on vacation! After long days of exploring all that Wyoming had to offer, we would come "home" and know that we would be comfortable and relaxed. Thanks for a great adventure!

Great property, really great owner

  • 5 of 5
After inquiring on VRBO regarding a last-minute reservation, the owner of this property worked with me to make it happen. She was very helpful and provided all of the information we needed to make a great stay. The property is in immaculate condition and has everything we needed to make our ski stay perfect. The location is within a 5 minute walk to good food, a coffee shop, and the START bus. Easy access to both Jackson Hole resort, the Town of Jackson and Teton Pass. If you want a hassle-free visit in a really comfortable and well-appointed unit, this property is highly recommended.

A good base station while in Jackson

  • 3 of 5
We spent 5 days in Jackson and scoured many properties for a place to rent. Jackson downtown is pretty touristy and pricey for the quality of the accommodations. You then are pretty much limited to renting a ski area property. We found this property adequate for a place to stay and was quite clean. The proprietor did have the habit of putting notes all over the property reviewing the various rules for tenants. If you are going to do this, at least laminate the notes so there aren't yellowed curled up pieces of paper all over the condo. I did feel like I should have added some notes like "clean out the sink drain" which drained slowly. The condo is circa 1970's and is approaching the end of it life cycle. It is very dark inside with a view of a high fence about 15 feet from the deck . Beyond the fence is a pool which guests are not allowed to use in this complex. We did like to sit on the minuscule deck (4x6) so we could get a little outdoor experience when we were there. Sadly this review site doesn't let you post pictures since I took several that would better show future renters what the property looks like.

The kitchen was well appointed with many cookbooks. The internet was very good with download speeds in excess of 8meg/sec. The TV is dated and really needs to be upgraded to a 42 inch lcd. The furniture is interesting although many pieces are not comfortable to sit in. The local market was touted but we found way overpriced and poor quality produce. Make all your stops at the large food store in Jackson.

Bottom line is, if you are looking for a condo to recharge after a long day of touring this is an economical choice. In winter it probably would be fine but in summer when you want to be outside, the options are very limited here.

Owner's Response: To clarify several points about this review, I would like to make several comments:
1. The reviewer states that the condo is circa 1970 and at the end of its life cycle. Fact: This condo was built in 1991. Most of the buildings in the Aspens were built in the late 70's (1978 to be exact), but not the Balsam Lodges. The owner of this unit has also put in upgrades including travertine tiles in the kitchen and bath, new carpet in 2011, and new appliances in 2011 and 2012.
2. The deck is small. Fact: The deck has room for a gas grill which the owner has graciously provided and keeps the gas full for guests, and there is room for a small "bistro style" table and 2 chairs on the deck.
3. There is a high fence just 15 feet from the back of the deck. Fact: There is a fence, not sure of the exact distance from the back of the deck, but there is a photo taken from the deck showing the distance to the fence and the height of the fence. (see the owner's photos showing the moose walking between the fence and the porch). The mountain views are not disturbed by the fence.
4. The swimming pool is not part of the Aspens community. Fact: True, the Aspens HOA does not maintain the pool, and the pool is owned and operated by the health club next door. Guests to the Aspens may purchase day passes to the health club, which also include use of the pool. The health club recently changed owners, and he has put in new, state-of-the-art equipment. Guests love having this amenity close-by.
5. The unit is dark. Fact: There are up and down blinds in this unit, so that guests may retain privacy yet still let light in.
6. The market near the unit is expensive. Fact: The benefit of having a market within walking distance (albeit a bit expensive) is tremendous for guests who may not have transportation and who take the bus to Teton Village to ski. The cost of goods is out of the control of the owner of this unit.
Thank you for taking time to read my response to this review which, if you look at all of the other reviews that I have received, seems very "off-base". I hope to have you stay with us at the Balsam Lodges soon.
Sincerely, Anne (Owner and manager)
