About The Owner
We started with a dream of being on Jocassee.
Why The Owner chose Lake Jocassee
Lakes Jocassee and Keowee are tucked under the Blue Ridge Crescent where the Appalachian Mountains transition to the mid Atlantic Piedmont. The Crescent shields this protected watershed from industry and large farming. Rapid elevation change creates abundant waterfalls that oxygenate spring feed streams that support some of the best trout fishing on the east coast. One of these, Whitewater falls, is the highest east of the Mississippi. The pureness of this untouched wilderness brought it into the Jocassee Gorges Preserve to be frozen in time. Spending time here is superior to any place we have ever been.
What makes this house unique
In a rocker on the porch, in the middle of paradise on the end of a point right on water’s edge, watching trout swim while loons sing is as good as it gets. With only 30 homes on 75 miles of shoreline its quite and never crowded. By the way, the lake is nearly 400' deep.
