Our self catering Storytelling Apartment (Visit Scotland 4 star), recently refurbished, distinctly Scottish in nature is situated right in the centre of things on Edinburgh's Royal Mile - the heart of the historic Old Town. A great base to explore Scotland's capital city. The main attractions – The Castle is a 10 minute walk up the Mile and Holyrood is 10 minutes down. You do not need a car when based here. The flat comprises a comfortable lounge (with sofa bed) overlooking the Royal Mile, a luxurious double bedroom, brand new shower room and separate fully equipped kitchen. Ideally suited to 2 people the apartment is an excellent base for a romantic weekend however with sofa bed it can accommodate up to 4. Please note the apartment is on the 2nd floor (US 3rd) in a traditional tenement and there is not a lift. Included in the price are all taxes, electricity and gas, bed linen, towels, internet broadband access and a welcome basket with wine, tea, coffee, milk, sugar, croissant.

The Royal Mile, where our flat is located, is right in the centre of the Old town-the medieval centre of Edinburgh and an absolutely perfect place to explore our breathtaking City from. The Castle is a 10 minute walk away. With both the Old town and the Georgian New town Edinburgh offers you an amazing range of architectural and cultural experiences. Step out your front door and step back in time. Explore the nooks and crannies of the Royal Mile and you’ll be amazed what you discover - from Mary Kings Close to the Contemporary architecture of the Scottish Poetry Library. The city buzzes in August with a plethora of arts and cultural festivals. There is literally something for everyone from classical ballet to juggling street performers. An ideal place for a short break or having visited we’re sure you will want to come back for a longer period

The apartment is nicely situated with windows facing directly above the Royal Mile. A wonderful window seat is perfectly positioned to allow an afternoon nap in a sun drenched spot or for early morning people watching as we sip our coffee and plan the day. Every detail has been well thought thru including a wealth of Scottish based movies and books to be entertained by. I have stayed at more than 20 different vacation spots around Europe and US and by far, the experience I had staying at the Storytelling Apartment in Edinburgh surpassed all. Fiona is a treasure who kept in close contact in planning our adventure and ensured every need was met.

The apartment is the perfect pied-a-terre from which to explore Edinburgh. You can walk anywhere from the apartment. It has every modern convenience you could wish for...fully equipped kitchen, DVD player, even books for you to read. The girls have thought of everything to make you comfortable for your stay. We would highly recommend this apartment for any couple visiting Edinburgh or exploring Scotland by daytrips.

The Story Telling apartment was a wonderful home base for our 5 day stay in Edinburgh in April 2009. Its central location on the Royal Mile enabled us to sample multiple city experiences and to also easily rest and re-group. The apartment is a gem of thoughtfully chosen delights and practical design. The living space is comfortable and welcoming and the bedroom quiet for sleeping at night. The decor and details in the apartment reflect a love of Scotland: “Fiona’s Favourites” rapidly became ours as well. When we first walked in to the sunlit rooms we knew we had stumbled into a little spot of heaven and we would love to return.

Stayed at the wonderful Storyteller Apartment for 5 nights with my husband, sister-in-law, and 6-year-old son. Fiona's touches were amazing - I especially appreciated the information let for us to make the most of our stay in Edinburgh - including things I would never have thought of - like the Farmer's Market. Also the DVDs and books for our son - such a nice thought. And - best of all, because I absolutely loved the decor - information about where to purchase the Scottish art, blankets, and pillows. Fiona's love of Scotland shows in everything she has in her apartment.

I would highly recommend this property!

Great place, great location

We had our family of four which includes two college age children and this place was great. Beth and Fiona had nice extra touches and the place was modern enough with old world charm and very convenient to everything.
