This home really proved to be a nice place to get away from everything. Quiet on a hillside with a great view of Tomales Bay. Comfortable interior, spacious. A perfect place for a relaxing get away.
My husband and I stayed here with his sister, her husband and their teen-aged son. Plenty of space for the 5 of us. The views around the cottage were lovely, the layout was really neat. Everything in the cottage worked (even though it took me awhile to figure out how to work the toaster oven - it did indeed work just fine!). We did puzzles and played games in the evenings, and it was quite nice. The kitchen was well stocked, and I was pleased to find the house stocked with things like toilet paper, paper towels, ziplock bags, etc - the little things you need.
The downstairs queen beds were both incredibly comfortable. The loft futons were pretty firm, but sticking some extra blankets under the bottom sheet made them just fine.
One note: while there is indeed a TV/DVD/VCR, it's really much too small (and in a small alcove) for a group to watch a movie. It would be more appropriate for small children to watch kids movies (of which there was a HUGE selection!). Instead of watching a movie, we did puzzles :-)
This property would not be suitable for folks with mobility issues, as there is no ground level access to the house (you have to walk down a dirt path) and stairs to get to everything. It was fine for us, but maybe not for older couples or those with mobility issues.
So beautiful, I highly recommend this for most travelers!
The owner was also very responsive with all of our questions and very easy to work with.
My family and I enjoyed staying at this beautiful spacious home with a beautiful view of Tomales Bay. It has huge windows everywhere that allow the renters to have beautiful views of the forest as well as the water. I especially appreciated the children's corner in the great room with toys and children's videos that my little grandson enjoyed.
If you're visiting Tomales Bay, this is a great little house in Inverness. The 2 loft spaces and the blow up mattress make it easy to house more than one family. For young kids, there's a little kids corner set up with toys and tons of Disney movies. We had a great time and would recommend!
Planned a weekend trip in the Bay Area with family (5 adults), all flying in from out of town. We originally intended to hike up to Arch Rock and a few other trails within Point Reyes National Seashore. Unfortunately, the government shutdown closed down the park and we were forced to improvise. Both the property and the owner made our stay -- the property is very spacious with wonderful views of Tomales Bay and beautiful natural lighting. The owner was tremendously helpful in giving us recommendations, much of which was organized in a welcome packet upon our arrival.
We had a great time at this house for a girls weekend. Lots of sleeping spaces and great views, as advertised. It was a bonus that there were rock climbing holds set up on the supports throughout the house. The owner provides great directions that make the house super easy to find. We went planning outdoor adventures, and this was super close to both Tomales Point trail and Heart's desire beach. Tomales point trail goes through the tule elk reserve to the ocean. Very unique and fun. This is a great spot and the owner communicates well.
