The beautifully appointed apartment is 2 floors of a Historic Scotland building from the 1860’s, across the road from where Prince William and Kate Middleton lived while studying at the historic university and along the road from where both Tom Watson and Peter Thomson have lived.
The apartment has recently been completely renovated to the highest standards combining history and comfort. All the 4 bedrooms have their own shower or bathrooms en-suite for your privacy. The flat is so spacious that as well as 2 public rooms there is a large drying area for golf clubs and apparel.
St Andrews is world famous as the home of golf, and there are more 1st class courses within 30 minutes drive than you could play on in a lifetime of holidays, but within 45 minutes there are 2 other Open Championship courses – Carnoustie and Muirfield and of course Gleneagles which will host the Ryder Cup in 2014.
However St Andrews is more than golf, being the 3rd oldest university in the English-speaking world (after Oxford and Cambridge) celebrating its 600th Anniversary in 2013, and has historic monuments and relics, historical living buildings including the remains of the Cathedral demolished by Knox, beaches, walks and much more to see, all within walking distance. It is perfectly possible to spend your whole holiday, visiting the shops, museums restaurants and pubs without getting into a taxi or car once, except for the out of town golf courses. Almost everywhere is within 5 minutes walk, and even the harbour at the other end of town is only 10 minutes walk away.
Your holiday does not necessarily need be focused on golf and parents of university student, vacationers who want to breathe history and partners of golfers can all have a memorable holiday in St Andrews and the environs.

I am from St Andrews although living oversees for 35 years, and my father still lives around the corner. Having learnt golf and humility from golf at St Andrews it is part of my life, and one that I hope you can share when you visit.
Being from St Andrews and without a home of our own to stay in, we decided to buy this home for our visits, but to make it available to anyone who loves or wants to learn to love St Andrews.
You step into history and can walk to history. Down the road past Auchterlonies, then the R&A is the first tee of the most famous golf course in the world. After only a few minutes you will feel that you belong as you are indeed staying in our home, not a 'property to let', with neighbors.
You will want to call home to your friends and family and can do so for free - take your time to share your experiences in St Andrews.
