Newly constructed (2011) wooded log cabin retreat on the West Branch of the Ausable River.
This retreat has views of surrounding mountains.
Keywords: Cabin, Cottage on West Branch of Ausable River. Great fishing and hunting and only minutes from Whiteface Mountain.
My boyfriend and I had a great time. The house was great with amazing views of the mountains. We were able to bring our dog which was a plus, he had a blast. The only thing bad is it was pretty far from everything but everything else was perfect. We will definitely be back!
Freshly built house with huge garage and no space for people. Plus the owner wants everybody to be out of the house at around 10am which is ridiculous. He actually came to the property to watch us pack and go.
Area is really nice, but not this house.
We recently spent a week in this cabin for our honeymoon. It is such a lovely place, felt just like home. The location was perfect, we went skiing, bobsledding, skeleton racing, and had fantastic food all in a reasonable driving distance. I highly recommend this place is your looking for a place to feel like home rather than a impersonal motel room. I loved the decor and the view our the back patio is breathtaking.
My husband and I just spent the weekend at this cabin and had a fantastic time. The whole place is clean and very comfortable--and most importantly, QUIET. The houses in this area are so tucked away that we never heard anyone else and saw more animals than people all weekend. (Including a family of 21 wild turkeys right next to the cabin.)
One thing to note: this is a studio-style layout with a storage unit separating the living room and bedroom. Perfect for us (and our dog) but maybe tricky if you're traveling with a kid or two and counting on a closed door between the living and sleeping space.
I'm sure we'll be back one day!
Our stay was very relaxing and enjoyable. The sound of the Ausable River and the view of the mountains were amazing. We even had an opportunity to see two Osprey fly right by the deck. The location was convenient to Wilmington, White Face and Lake Placid. The cabin had all the comforts of home. Having the garage access made it convenient to pull in the car with bikes each night.
This is a perfect cabin for a couple or a small family. My wife, 6 year old son, and small dog were more than comfortable here. The cabin has all the little extras that made it feel like home, my son asked if we could move there. There were lots of maps and brouchers of the area at the desk which we found useful. My son loved that there was a Wii with lots of games to play. Nice views of the mountains from the deck. River access is a little steep, but my 6 year old made the hike several times without much trouble. 50 yards or so up river there was a nice little sandy beach area to wade in which my son loved. My wife loved the decor of the cabin, very modern, but still had the cabin feel to it. The bed was so comfy, I wish I would have checked to see what kind it was... never slept so good! Great location on a dead end road close to Whitface, Jay covered bridge swimming hole, and lots of fishing, hiking, and kayaking spots. The owners were great to deal with too! We'll be coming back again soon!
