Time to relax at this beautiful 2 bedroom, 2 bath waterfront vacation home. This Key West style home features a 35' concrete seawall for docking your boat, equipped with dockposts, cleats, a fish cleaning table, fresh water rinse down and fresh water outdoor shower.

The living room is nicely decorated and has a queen sleeper sofa and love seat, 32' flat screen, cable, DVD and stereo system. The kitchen features a full line of appliances and accessories including a center island with bar stools. The dining room has seating for 6 with additional seating for 4 on the covered deck for a waterfront dining experience. The Master bedroom has a queen bed and private bath while the guest room has a queen bed and private balcony.

After a day out on the water, relax in the cool breezes downstairs and enjoy the open air patio or sit out by the waters edge and soak up the sun. Additional amenities include dishwasher, gas grill, washer/dryer, central heat & air and free use of 2 Beach Cruiser bikes and a canoe.

'The Bug Shack'' (named after the beloved Florida spiney lobster, aka: big) is located in a resort community on Cudjoe Key, just 19 miles from Key West. It is a safe and secure community with 24 hour manned gated access, which caters to fishermen, families and children.

The Resort has many amenities including: 2 boat ramps, ethanol-free gas at marina, community store, pressurized boat wash down station, trailer parking. A community center with billards, darts, library and Free Wi-Fi. There are tennis and basketball courts, golf putting green and netted driving range. There is even a small childrens playground.

My family and I vacation here as much as possible, so we have made our vacation home comfortable and relaxing with all the creature comforts of home. We love the Keys and we chose to buy in Venture Out because it is centrally located for access to anything and everything you could possibly want to do in the Keys. Easy boat access to both the gulf and Atlantic...the fishing here is AMAZING! Keys West and all their activities are just a 20 minute drive away. This resort has so many activities and extras we could not find anywhere else. Its just great, our kids love it too!

Paradise in the Bug Shack!

We had a pleasant stay at the Bug Shack! We were so impressed at how neat and clean the house was. Our family loved the view from the porch overlooking the canal. We had everything we needed to spend a week in paradise! During the week our kids enjoyed swimming in the pool and exploring the resort. It was convienent having a community store so close for those odds and ends we forgot or needed. We were only about 30 minutes from key west! During our stay we visited Bahia Honda State Park only minutes away and went swimming and snorkeling. We also took a day trip to Islamorada to the Theater by the Sea...fantastic..Kids loved the encounters with the dolphin, sea lions, and parrots. The weather was beautiful, which added to our trip! We look forward to coming back soon. Thank you Frank for all of the wonderful info you gave prior to our trip and for your prompt responses to our e-mails.

the perfect getaway! the pool is great...and if it weren't for Hurricane Sandy - our week would have been a perfect 5! Amentities were just as described, clean, convenient to Key West. We enjoyed a week membership to Pirate Wellness Center. Would definitely stay again - thanks so much.

In 43 years of going to the Florida Keys we would say this was the best place to stay and take a boat. Everyone was helpful and friendly. The boat ramp was one of the best. Easy to launch and take out. Kept boat right by the Bug Shack. Deep water. Good place to keep trailer and extra car. The Bug Shack was well appointed and clean. Very good value. This is definitely where we will go again. Thanks for making this a wonderful vacation

Wonderful week in the Keys

My husband and I enjoyed our week's stay in The Bug Shack. The house had all the needed amenities, plus a set of bikes and a canoe. Only 20 miles from Key West, which we visited 4 times during our week. The snorkeling was great at Looe Key Reef but the fishing for my husband was a little off due to the previous weeks weather and wind. We enjoyed the breezes coming through the house. The staff at Venture Out were quite helpful and a pleasure to do business with. We can't wait to return! If you go to Key West, you have got to try the Fish Tacos at Garbo's Grill. It is a "food truck" a block off Duval and WOW, was the tacos and burgers fabulous...Now to try and make them at home?!
