Hi. My home on Clear Lake in the town of Lucerne is quite a comfortable, private spot for a vacation. Activities while at the house include fishing, boating, water skiing, birding, swimming, wading, and mostly, for me anyway, relaxing!
The house built in 2001, sits beside Clear Lake with a swim/boat dock off the sea wall but also has a great, private beach where jet skis can be launched. The home consists of three stories. The ground floor is a bedroom with a queen bed and bath (including front loading washer/dryer). This room has screened French doors that open onto the deck (very romantic). Take the outdoor stairs to the second floor which consists of a kitchen, living room, dining area, TV area, den with a double bed futon, and bath. The kitchen has all the appliances I think you could want plus plenty of crockery and pots and pans. The third floor is a master bedroom loft with a King Bed, sitting area, and bath. Linens are provided.
All rooms have great views of the lake! Looking to the west from the main floor, you will be awestruck by the 180 degree view of the lake through the wall of sliding glass doors. Along with a great view on the other side of the sliding doors is an outdoor screened deck. What a wonderful spot to sit from morning into the night (the sunsets are to die for.) Similar to a cabin, the entire interior has natural pine paneling – the clean scent when you first walk in the front door is very inviting.
The entire property is fenced adding to privacy and security. There is quite a bit of parking within the fence (room for a boat on a trailer plus cars) with additional parking on the street. There is plenty of outdoor seating (chairs, lounges, and table) and a large, gas Weber BBQ is awaiting your culinary whim.
And if you are bringing a dog, the “critter corner” just inside the front door, provides dog bowls, cookies, dog beds, first aid kit, towels, exercise pens, and crates. The property is fenced quite securely for medium small to large dogs as long as they don’t jump over the sea wall for a swim in the lake (so far nobody has). Clear Lake during some years does get algea and weed growth toward the end of the summer (August). The spring months and early summer is absolutely gorgeous.
I hope you will choose to stay at my home. Many previous vacationers have said that my place is the best vacation rental they have ever stayed at in the Clear Lake area! If you have any questions, please call.

Finally retired! Yea! I love gardening at my home in Santa Rosa and traveling with my trailer and 2 dogs. A few years ago that would have been 3 dogs and a cat but trying to slow things down a bit now. Part of the year, I enjoy coming up to the Lucerne house and just relaxing. What a great house! I love to have friends and their dogs come visit and I especially like it when there is snow on the foothills. I guess a little like Switzerland.
The Owner purchased this house in 2004
I chose the location because it is near where I live in Santa Rosa and I have friends that live in the Clear Lake area. It is such a beautiful location and so easy to get to. From my house to Lucerne, once I get on 101 there are no more stop signs. I just pull up into my drive way. Talk about relaxing!
Over the years that I have owned this house, I've discovered birds. Now I know about Grebes (they are the guys that pair up and run on the water). I have seen them do it multiple times right in front of the house. Herons and egrets hang out all the time on the swim dock. But probably the most exiciting was standing at the up stairs bedroom window and watching two Bald Eagles fly by. Yikes! That was exciting!
We loved your house. The new oven worked great. We had all our meals on the screened deck and many hours of playing cards in the evening. No mosquitos! What a treat. The beds were wonderful and the pillows soft. My husband and I sat outside with all the lights off and watched shooting stars. Our dog's nose did not stop sniffing. We're off to ski then back to foggy San Francisco.
THINGS TO DO: Lucerne has many amenities including art galleries (local artists and craft people), and a beautiful, new public park. Spring brings farmers’ markets through out the Clear Lake area. Ceago is the closest winery just up the road but there are many more around the lake. Great hiking can be had at Cache Creek, Clear Lake State Park and Mt. Konocti. The Redbud Society conducts public walks every Saturday morning at the Rodman Sough. Clear Lake State Park besides nice for walks is great for birding (Osprey nest in the parking lot). One day I saw a River Otter walking across the park road no more than 20’ from the car. If you like kayaking, there is a kayak shop in Lucerne that will deliver a kayak to you. Open 7 days per week, the Lake County Visitor Center, located in Lucerne, provides a multitude of information. I’ve also put many brochures at the house for you to peruse hopefully, finding just the right activity.
