Spacious, Immaculate, Convenient - A Jewel

On a side street, one half block north of the river Adige is the lovely, spacious apartment. It is a very large 3 bedroom/2 bath apartment, out fitted with wonderful antiques located on the third floor. The quality of the construction, finish, and contents demonstrate that it was set up as the owner's home rather than a rental. While portions of the building may be 400 years old (or possibly MUCH older) it has been wonderfully renovated and modernized. The small rooftop deck was a wonderful spot to drink wine and watch the sunset. The bathrooms were large and clean, use of the washer/drier was helpful during a lengthy trip abroad.
Verona is a small city and all the key sites are within reasonable walking distance. The Roman Stone Bridge, Teatro Romano, and San Giorgio are literally just down the block. Piazza Erbe, Giardino Giusti, the Arena, Castelvecchio, and San Zeno are within walking distance. We took a taxi to and from the train station, but otherwise did well on foot. Bits of Roman detritus have been incorporated into many of the buildings in Verona, and the apartment building has some.
There are a couple of grocery stores nearby for wine, cheese, and breakfast foods. We did not sample the nearest restaurants, generally eating out while we visited the sites.
The apartment kitchen had been stocked with milk, juice, and a large fruit bowl prior to our arrival. Not sure if this should be expected in other visits, but it was much appreciated by us. Nice TV, limited selection of stations, no internet. There was a little noise from the street, but not excessive or bothersome. The owner was very helpful and welcoming to us.
We would definitely stay at the Apartment again in a future visit and recommend it to our friends.
