Waikoloa Beach Resort Townhome Rental Photos and Description

Townhome, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 4-6)

Our villa was refurnished last year, in a casual tropical island theme. It is ideally located, just steps away from the pool, tennis courts and spa. Our Hawaiian style townhouse is an end unit with windows on all four sides, airy 17-ft living room ceiling and no one above or below. Privacy is ensured with a bedroom and a bath on each level. We furnish wireless Internet, 3 flat screen TVs, and a DVD Player. We even have a surround sound system with an IPod dock. Grill fresh fish and enjoy fruit and vegetables from Kona's Farmers' Market in our well-equipped kitchen. Or if your idea of vacation cooking is simply brewing a cup of famous Kona coffee, then many world-class local restaurants await you.

Waikoloa Beach Colony Villas is a private, gated complex in the exclusive Waikoloa Beach Resort. It is on Hawaii's Kohala Coast with the Big Island's best beaches and weather. Waikoloa Beach Colony Villas was awarded 2012 Certificate of Excellence Award. Waikoloa Beach Colony Villas is set among 22 acres of tropical landscaping and palm trees, and is right next to the 10th fairway of the Waikoloa Beach Golf Course. You can also play tennis, work out in the air-conditioned fitness center, or relax at the tropical pools. One of the two pools features a unique lava rock waterfall and spa, the other pool has an 18' deep children's area.

Waikoloa Beach Resort is a destination resort centrally located on the Kohala Coast, 18 miles from the Kona Airport. It is designed around beautiful, palm-studded A Bay, two terrific golf courses, the Kings’ Shops & Queens’ Marketplace with many restaurants including Roys, Merrimans, a food court, shops, and two gourmet grocery stores.

At Waikoloa Beach Resort, the crescent-shaped A Bay offers a pristine sandy beach with sports activities and rentals, shoreline paths, a giant turtle refuge and ancient royal fishponds, all just 5 minutes away. Nearby at the Waikoloa Hilton, you can enjoy several world class restaurants, or at the world-famous Dolphin Quest you can swim with friendly dolphins.

Next to the Kings' Shops, explore Puako Petroglyph Archaeological Preserve with fascinating free tours. Hike or ride a horse to breathtaking hidden waterfalls or fly over the waterfalls and volcanoes by helicopter. Snorkel, swim, sport fish, or go on a day trip to see the volcano, lava caves, or the world's only zoo in a tropical rain forest. Or just relax on palm-fringed beaches or your own lanai.

You will create memories to last a lifetime in this tropical paradise.

About Jim Freitas

We live in California, but love to travel to the Big Island several times a year, and love having our villa, as our home-away-from-home. We enjoy the variety of beaches on the Big Island and cannot get enough of exploring new places and hidden beaches. We love to cook, so you'll find everything you need to prepare gourmet meals. Our villa has boogie boards, snorkels & beach gear, tennis rackets, movies, and games. We'd love to have you as our guests.

Jim Freitas purchased this townhome in 2010

Why Jim Freitas chose Waikoloa Beach Resort

We chose Waikoloa Colony Villas for its superior spaciousness, architectural design, and landscaping. Waikoloa Beach Resort has a central location, with the best beaches and weather on the island. We love the natural beauty and incredible weather.

What makes this townhome unique

With two pools, a tennis court, walking paths, exercise room, and meeting room, the Waikoloa Colony Villas is a wonderful complex for families, couples, singles, young and old. This newer complex is close to the Kings' Shops and Queens' Marketplace of the Waikoloa Resort. We also enjoy the close proximity to many of the best beaches in Hawaii.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Our stay at this villa was really great. Everything was sparkling clean and brand new.

The owner has put a lot of effort into helping the guests enjoy this resort, including beach chairs and umbrellas, beach towels, and tennis racquets. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need, including spices. The location is close to everything, yet very quiet, and the owner is great to work with.

Fantastic vacation! Superb accommodation! Very responsive owner!

  • 5 of 5

For the first time we rented a property listed on vrbo and we were rather sceptical and not sure what to expect... it was absolutely great! The property was very clean and exactly as described, the location what we needed (close to the restaurants, shops, tennis court, tennis clinics offered at the Hilton, BBQ, beach and plenty of golfing), the owner was extremely responsive! The villa was so well equipped! In the kitchen you found whatever you were looking for (even some salt, sandwich bags and so many other small but necessary things, you would not even have thought of). We arrived in Kona, went straight to Costco, did our shopping and were set for two weeks of wonderful vacation. We used the BBQ many times, we enjoyed very much having dinner on the patio, my younger daughter was delighted to find everything in the house needed to spend a wonderful day at the beach. Great rental property, we hope we can return in December.

Unforgettable vacation

  • 5 of 5

Our vacation at Waicoloa Colony Villa was amazing. The condo is great, very clean and spacious with functional furniture, well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds. For outdoor activities we had all that we needed, from new beach towels, beach chairs, snorkelling and tennis equipment. We enjoyed time spent on patio, surrounded by beautiful garden. The pool and hot tub where clean not overcrowded.

The resort has all you need from shops, restaurants, coffee shop, the beach with the best sunset on the island. You can spend a day at Hilton, enjoy tram and boat ride for free than indulge lunch at the dolphin quest. Almost forgot to mention golfers paradise. We also visited amazing Kohala Coast beaches, northern side of the island, drove along Saddle road to Hilo side. There are more to explore on this beautiful island.

In addition to all this I have to mention our host Jim, who was very helpful from day one of our correspondence. He gave me advise about car rental, shopping, etc. Jim will replay to my mails promptly. We felt safe and relaxed knowing that we can contact Jim if we needed any kind of information or help at any time. We are highly recommending this property for all of you. We can't wait to be back. After visiting Big Island we know how paradise fils like.

Great start for our month to explore the Big Island

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful condo in an exceptional area. I wish that I had booked it for longer. Loved the condo's layout and furnishings. It came fully equipped and lacked nothing. We loved the gardens and pool/hottub. I have bookmarked this VRBO for our next visit.

Great Place to Stay

  • 5 of 5

This condo is a wonderful place to stay. I was born and raised on the Big Island and found that this condo more than met our needs. The beach chairs are so handy and we used them each day as we went to our favorite beaches. The location is ideal for people who want to tour the island. We found the condo well equipped with paper goods, spices and even some food. A quick trip to Costco and we were set. It looks like it might be a noisy place but it was quiet and felt very private. I especially enjoyed my morning walk around the area.

Clean, modern, well-appointed and well-situated

  • 5 of 5

It is always a gamble where to stay in terms of location, cost, entertainment and comfort but Jim’s villa at the Waikoloa Beach Resort covered it all for our needs. The premises were as promised. Clean, modern, well-appointed and well-situated with stunning seafront nearby, restaurants and stores if needed, and a nice little pool to cool off in. It soon felt like home. Nearby snorkeling at A Bay and Hapuna Beach was great and if you are a golfer, you won’t be disappointed. All this plus the unexpected enjoyment of viewing the 1800+ artifacts at the stunning Hilton Hotel right near the condo and enjoying our own bbq’s back at home base followed by a relaxing swim in the pool and soak in the hot tub. We were only 15 or so minutes from the Kona airport and maybe another 12 miles south of the airport to the tourist town of Kailua Kona. The Waikoloa Beach Resort location allowed us to explore north along the coastline visiting Lapakahi Historical State Park, the little town of Hawi, and Pololu Valley. A drive east across island past the town of Waimae led us to an enjoyable (though exhausting) hike into the Waimea Valley to experience the lovely beach and view the waterfall. We headed south to Honokaa for supper before the return trip. Another excursion east past the Mauna Kea Volcano brought us to Hilo. A short jaunt north from there up the east coast led us to the incredibly beautiful, not-to-be-missed, Hawaii Tropical Botanical Garden and Akaka Falls. Thank you Jim for enabling such a great trip. We would definitely return.

Perfect First Time Visit to the Island

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I can not praise this condo, it's location and the owner, Jim, enough! It is beautifully decorated, can not think of a thing you would need that is not there. Jim was so helpful and accommodating as we were scheduled to be there during the hurricane so had some plans get changed. Jim helped us out with this and in fact got to stay at a second place of his as well( #349642). Both are wonderful!

Location allows you to see the entire island without ever feeling like you are driving for long periods of time without seeing beautiful sites. Everywhere you drive, you see incredible things!! We would suggest the following:

Drive around the entire island (at least one) - a very relaxing 8 hour day with many stops along the way.

Must go to South Point (Cliff jumping and Green Sand Beach), Great snorkeling at Pu'uhonua O Honaunau (Place of Refuge). Farmers Market in Captain Cook on Sundays 9-2pm, * Good grocery store there which is cheaper than the one in the Queen's Market area.

Drive up the Kohala Coast, stop in Hawi and then hike to Pololu Valley Lookout.

Have to go to The Blue Dragon for dinner - awesome place. Just north on 19 to 270. Driving along rt 250 is incredible green rolling hills with big vistas.

Hike in a tropical forest to Akaka Falls near Hilo. In Hilo, eat at the Pineapple Grill!

The Saddle Road/rt 200 splits the Island in half making visiting the other side of the island very accessbile.

For a white sand beach just 5-10 minutes away - go to Hapuna Beach State Park $5.00 to park for the day and gets you access to a second beach near by which has LOTS of shade.

Best shopping for gifts, probably Kona area. Need to walk through the Hilton Waikaloa Resort. We could go on and on but hopefully this gives a reason to come and stay!
