Spotless Home - Great location - Perfect setup
My wife and I, our 2 girls (9 and 7) along with my brother, his wife and their 3 year old daughter spent a week at Gibby’s 2. The setup of the house was perfect for us. The girls all stayed together in the bedroom with the bunk-beds, and each of the couples had their own bedroom. The house is spacious, consisting of 3 levels. The kitchen/dining room/living room is on the 2nd floor, the 1st floor has a bathroom/laundry room and foyer area, and the basement level has all 3 bedrooms and a bathroom/sauna. I got to use the sauna for one afternoon and it works perfectly. The kitchen is well equipped, the couches are comfortable, and the dining room table easily seated the 7 of us. Full sized laundry was a huge plus as we did multiple loads during the week. Side table on the upper level even turned into a bumper pool table – which was a nice surprise. There’s a nice little brook running by the right hand side of the house, but unfortunately, it was not accessible for the kids to investigate because of the steep decline. Lots of little toads jumping around the front/side yard area though! Also a cool fire-pit on the side of the house and a small gas grill on the back deck that worked like a charm. Last but not least – this was easily the cleanest place I have ever stayed in up in North Conway. I’ve rented in the area for many years now, and I would absolutely say without a doubt that this was the nicest and cleanest place that we have ever stayed at. Absolutely beautiful home. The location is extremely quiet, and a short 5 minute drive down to Echo Lake, which we went to 3X during the week. About 15 min. to Storyland, 65 min. to Santa’s Village, 8 min. to Zebs, 12 min. down to the Outlets. Tons of great restaurants in the area of course as well.
A few cons: House is not Central A/C - bedrooms had floor fans, but it still got a bit stuffy at night with the doors closed; I would recommend that the Wi-Fi password just be put on the fridge with other info; There was no tea kettle; Cubby area looks cool, but is functionally difficult to use. Also found a golden retriever just wandering down the street (her name is Casey – super friendly). She appeared lost so we called the # on her tag and the owners came and got her, but I guess they just let her roam around the area. We had a great time and will certainly look to rent this house again. Kristin was great to work with it, very responsive to emails and fair. Thanks for the opportunity to stay!
