Within walking distance to everything Nanaimo has to offer. Easy access from seaplane terminal and ferry terminal. Right on the Sea walk called Queen Elizabeth II Promenade for easy biking or walking access to everything. It is an easy ten min walk around the corner to downtown and a 5 min drive or 15 min walk in the other direction to the ferry terminal.
This exceptional location allows for hours of endless enjoyment watching boats going by. Not only is the harbor of Nanaimo a popular stop for boaters cruising the gulf islands it is also Vancouver Islands main port for shipping goods to and from the Island.
Looking out the view windows you see Newcastle Island a Provincial Marine Park. There is an hourly ferry that runs to this island where you can picnic, swim, bike or hike.
A trip on the ferry to Protection Island is not complete without a stop for a meal at the Dinghy Dock Pub. Canada's only floating pub offers great local food and live music. There is a special section for kids and they can even go fishing right through the dock!
If you like to kayak, or even if you've never tried it before, across the street there is an exceptional launch for any level of kayaker. We have two kayaks for guests to use. Kayak rentals and lessons are readily available. This area is the gateway to many scenic day trips in one of Vancouver Islands premier kayaking grounds.
Other interest spots are Wild Play Adventure Park and the many beaches, lakes and hiking, walking and biking trails in the area.

Why The Owner chose Nanaimo
We have always loved Vancouver Island and the Nanaimo area. It is so close to Vancouver it is easy for us to 'get away' for a weekend. This great location is so close to everything and a bonus is that it is on the waterfront!
What makes this apartment unique
The accessibility to downtown and the views of Nanaimo Harbour, and proximity of Newcastle and Protection Islands are a huge benefit. The ability to walk from ferry or float plane to the apartment make it a great spot to come from Vancouver even without a vehicle.
