From the moment you step onto the patio of this highrise condo, you'll want to reach for your camera. This suite has literally one of the best views in all of Vancouver - the lovely vista of English Bay with its sailboats and the Gulf Islands glimmering on the horizon.
When you look down from your highrise patio, Sunset Beach stretches before you. Beyond that, a seaside walk carries you around Stanley Park, so lovely that it just won the the prize as the best park in the world!
Right beside the building, tiny ferries, looking like colourful tugboats, chug across English Bay to the food-and-art mecca of Granville Island. Shop at this food oasis, meander through its craft shops, or pause to sample craft beers at Granville Island Brewery.
The unmatched view. And ahh...The beach!
A walker's paradise surrounded by million-dollar scenery. Walking score: 94
This suite is comfortable, very clean and well appointed. The artwork on the walls makes it very cozy. Full kitchen is great. Free Parking a bonus in Vancouver. View of English Bay and the mountains every day is breathtaking. An easy walk to downtown area, lots of shops and restaurants. Take the aquabus from across the street to Granville Island for an amazing experience.
We can honestly say that we couldn't be happier with our stay.
To begin with, the suite was excellent. It had a warm comfy vibe to it, nice artwork, a well equipped kitchen and a comfortable bed. We found everything we needed, like wifi, cleaning products, sugar, a coffee maker, kettle, parking space, etc.
The view from the living room was just breathtaking! Sea and sky and sailboats as far as the horizon. Next time we're here, we'll definitely hire a boat for a day and explore some of the little islands we could see from the suite!
When darkness hid the sea, we still enjoyed the Vancouver skyline and the twinkling lights of the mountain ski runs.
Close to the building, we caught the Hop-On Hop-Off tour bus which gave us a narrated tour of the city. We jumped off at the attractions that sounded interesting, like Chinatown and Gastown. We'd then wait for the next bus, as they came by quite often. At the Vancouver Aquarium, we fell in love with Chester the baby whale. So cute! He's been a resident since he lost his mum and was rescued from a local beach.
Not far from the suite are many nice restaurants and shops. But our fave every morning was to take a tiny ferry (it looks like the Little Tugboat that Could) from the condo to Granville Island farmer's market for farm-fresh goodies, great spanakopita and those giant gooey cinnamon buns. Mmmm...
Oh! And I've left the best for the last. Stanley Park! This natural treasure is surrounded by ocean. We'd take long, leisurely strolls on its pedestrian seawall, with the sea on one side and various sights like the totems on the other. We took tons of pictures. Keep an eye out for the mermaid lounging on sea-swept rock!
Our host John was friendly and helpful, providing us with a picture map and pointing out all the best sights of Vancouver, Whistler and Victoria.
To sum up, we're very happy that we found this place!
This suite turned out to be a great suite in a great area! The place was very cozy and clean, the bed very comfortable. It had all the little things covered, like shampoo, a hair dryer and an iron. The weather was sunny so I spent some time relaxing on the patio watching the pretty boats gliding around the bay. Nearby Denman and Davie Streets is great for foodies. The Indian cuisine at Judges Restaurant turned out to be excellent. The chicken korma was just perfect. I really enjoyed biking along the beach beside the suite and around beautiful Stanley Park on a winding path that goes for miles. Just gorgeous!
