Visit our newly built home that sits on a hillside overlooking our city. It offers a cozy living room, spacious dining room with computer work area, a fully functioning kitchen with microwave and dishwasher, and a stack washer and dryer. Relax in rocking chairs with loved ones on the front deck, which provides views of landmarks in and around Elkins.

Bedrooms are upstairs with cathedral ceilings. The master bath is just steps away from two rooms and the back bedroom has a bath attached. We have a queen bed, a full bed and a futon that will sleep six comfortably Many area attractions await your visit. The American Moutain Theatre offers shows for the entire family to enjoy. The Gandy Dancer is Elkins newest attraction.

This dinner theatre is sure to please the pickiest appetites with music, entertainment, and a great meal. For those who love the outdoors, there is the Allegheny Highlands Bike Trail (20 plus mile trail from Elkins to Parsons), Elkins Flyer train excursions, hiking, fishing, hunting, and skiing. Area festivals occur year round, such as the Mountain State Forest Festival (the largest festival in West Virginia), Strawberry Festival, Augusta Heritage Festival, and Helvetia Fair).

We are thirty minutes from Canaan Valley, one hour from Seneca Rocks (WV's #1 visited sight), one hour from Snowshoe, and two and a half hours from Pittsburgh.

Spent a pleasant winter weekend at the cottage. Clean and convenient, easy drive to Canaan Valley for sledding and snow fun with the kids. Owners are very helpful and pleasant. Only caution: if visiting in the winter and snow/ice are present, make sure to have four-wheel drive to make it up to the cottage. I thankfully did and had no problem. I highly recommend the cottage.
Recommended for:  Adventure Seekers, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children
Owner's Response: As we tell everyone who responds in the winter, four wheel drive is highly recommended for our hill. The road is well maintained so driving on it with four wheel drive is safe, but a two wheel drive could be problamatic if there is snow on the ground.

Grannies Get a Way

We three grannies traveled to the Buchannon area for the annual yard sale event. We chose to stay in Elkins and was glad we did. We are hooked on Cottages/Cabins and this one fit our needs perfectly. The Cottage was clean and comfortable with a very relaxing feel to it. We enjoyed our evening at the Gandy DinnerTheater and hope to come back in November for the Christmas performance. For three ladies who can get lost in a parking lot, this location was perfect. The Cottage was close to everything we needed but far enough out to enjoy the nature surrounding it. So grannies or those needing a girls weekend, give this place a try, You will be glad you did.

Owner's Response: We agree that Elkins is a great hub for surrounding communities. People visiting from all over this region can stay in the our little cabin while they enjoy this mountain town. There are many things to do, see, and explore. We are thankful these three gave us the opportunity to enhance their visit.

Oh the West Virginia Hills

How Majestic and how grand. We loved our Elkins get a way with family from Charleston. It was a welcome change from the heat of Alabama. Your rental was clean and beautiful and close to the AHT for biking. We also enjoyed concerts at Augusta, the picking in the park, and the American Mountain Theater. It was great to come home to comfort and space for two couples in your lovely cabin. Thanks for sharing with us.

Owner's Response: We are so glad that you enjoyed our home in the hills. The climate in Elkins is very mild in the summer with temperatures seldom rising above 90 degrees. The low humidity that is common here allows you to cool off in the shade of our front porch even if it does get that hot. Also the activities mentioned can be done in the shade or air conditioning as well.

Wonderful Weekend

The house was perfect for our weekend trip to Elkins. It was so nice to be able to spread out and relax during our stay. The house was beautiful and had everything to make our stay enjoyable. We hope to come back soon!!

With Grandkids on Vacation

We came to Elkins to take our grandchildren for a train ride and we were lucky enough to be able to rent this lovely cabin for our stay. It was beautifully furnished and very comfortable. We were very pleased with the owners demeanor and their willingness to work to make our stay an awesome experience. We appreciated the fact that we had a choice other than a conventional hotel that offered us the space to have room enough for everyone to enjoy themselves without being all on top of each other. The two and a half baths reduced the stress of trying to get everyone ready in the mornings. We will be checking for availability next time we venture to Elkins. The grandkids even got to see deer feeding in the yard one evening and they had a very good time. Very good experience!
