All that you could need

We had 9 guys on a vacation weekend and this place was perfect for us. Everyone had their own bed with a couple left over that were unused. Pool is open at 6am, beach is 100 yards from the carport and we're just across the street from Seacrets. Flat screen TVs, big deck on the main level with huge sliding glass doors that you could leave open and feel the ocean breeze into the home if you choose. Excited about our next trip...

Property not as pictured, overpriced

Pros: We were very impressed with the location of this rental, its PERFECT. And because there isn't a large hotel behind you, the beach isn't overly crowded! The pictures and availability for the specific week we required sold us on this unit. The stove and fridge were both brand new, and a new deck table was delivered while we were there also.

Cons: The first issue was that I realized after a busy week before leaving for vacation, that the owner never contacted me with directions on how or where to locate the key. The day we left I called frantically several times and only reached a full voicemail over and over again. Eventually I reached the owner and he provided me with the key code. Upon checking in, we realized approximately 50% of the lighting within the condo was burnt out. The hot and cold plumbing are mixed up both upstairs and for the washing machine, which is rusty, dirty, and...outside. We dubbed the upstairs shower as the "porno" shower as whomever is staying in that room will have no privacy while showering. If someone is sitting in the bed, they will have quite a show of the person showering. Not the end of the world, just pretty interesting. The main floor slider does not work. There was blood on three of the comforters in the kid's bunk bed room. There was beer on the ceiling in several rooms but it was worst in the kitchen.The carpets and walls were FILTHY. Some of the doors looked like they had been kicked into with bats or hockey sticks and were also very dirty. Many of the outlets did not work. There were two vacuums, one had a broken belt (the nicer one). We called the owner about the light bulbs and he sent someone over to deal with it. The person showed up with his girlfriend and they spent the night in the downstairs apartment and stayed the following day. This might not sound like a big deal but it was really strange. Generally it is apparent that this townhome is rented out to the younger crowd and would be a great place to rent if that is who you are. I would not recommend it to families. What poured more salt into the wound was talking to other families in the community that week and learning that most paid significantly less for nicer places. Next year we will book earlier and research further.

Owner's Response: I have to respond to such a crazy review. I have never had a negative review and am shocked that a person has to write such a negative review but thanks I still got 3 stars. The Door code is given the week or two before usually emailed. I personally manage the property but happen to be offshore that day where sell phones do not work. To the address the light bulbs , there is 4 floors of lights and 3 fixtures had bad lights. The cleaning company did not caught this and a policy was put in place to address this issue. The upstairs penthouse bedroom has been redone and has a very nice glass shower that is very modern. No different than having a whirlpool tub in your suite at a luxury hotel. This is the bedroom used by the newly weds or the couple who wants some privacy. The ceilings are tough and grove and the pine does have some sap that comes threw every year or two during the summer, not very noticeable but the ceilings are being painted. All the doors , have been replaced and i did not notice anything until after the season.The First floor is a private apt and I personally was there with my wife. We have our own separate entrance and have never had an issue. All the units are the same. We are there to make sure everyone's stay is perfect. As far as rate are concerned i am one of the lower price units and one of the newest.
