The flat comes fully equipped to make your stay in Central London most enjoyable. No corners are cut on towels or linens/and there are plenty spare for those who don't wish to wash and dry on holiday.

Apartment Features: We're happy to arrange our cleaner to come in if this is requested.

The living room has a flat LCD TV and DVD player with a selection of DVD's to watch during your stay. .A WI game console is also provided.

The flat was fully refurbished less than three years ago and features solid oak flooring throughout, provencial stonework in the bathroom and integrated kitchen appliances. There's a dishwasher/fridge/freezer,ceramic glass hob and plenty of pots and pans for those wishing to cook meals at home. A water filter is also supplied. There's a filter coffee maker, a French Press and an espresso machine. There's an excellent choice of shops that sell fresh ground coffee.

We Just added a new sofa bed.

Our lovely terrace has plenty of room for outdoor dining(London weather permitting...) and also has a barbecue. The terrace is such a wonderful place to relax after a day out in London.

The kitchen has all mod cons and also a selection of cookery books should you wish to experiment at home.

There's a selection of grocery shops within a five minute walk of the flat, Sainsbury's, Marks and Spencer, Tesco and Waitrose will have all you need for your stay.

There's the independent Villandry on Great Portland St for the more special culinary treat...and also the simply fantastic La Fromagerie for cheese. This is one of the best cheese shops in London.

The bathroom has very good water pressure and constant hot water ,so there will be no worries for larger groups staying at the flat. The flat benefits from independent central heating for the somewhat cold British winters.

Both bedrooms have wardrobes with hanging space and suitcases can easily be put to the side of these.

Cleveland Street is home to a number of local shops, cafe's and restaurants and is well positioned close to Charlotte Street and Oxford Street.

Fitzrovia is a neighbourhood in central London, near London's West End lying partly in the London Borough of Camden (in the east) and partly in the City of Westminster (in the west); and situated between Marylebone and Bloomsbury and north of Soho.

More about Fitzrovia: This historically bohemian area was once home to such writers as Virginia Woolf, George Bernard Shaw and Arthur Rimbaud, Bob Dylan played one of his first shows just down the road.

A few minutes away is Fitzroy Sq...a piece of Georgian design that has aged beautifully.A few more blocks away and one can view the architecture of Nash and his row of terrace houses near Regents Park.

For those traveling with young children a visit to Pollocks Toy Museum on nearby Whitfield St will be sure to delight them. The perfect place to pick up gifts for those back home! I have to admit even I go in there and I'm always in awe of the treasures of childhoods past that they have on display.Next door is their theatre print shop...again...well worth a visit. Whilst on the subject of theatre there's the Theatre Bookshop on Conway St with its numerous books on all theatre related matters.

The number of restaurants on nearby Charlotte St really is amazing. There's something to cater to every taste and budget! We can assure you that you'll love this street. This street is less than 5 minutes from the flat.

The London Zoo is nearby and this should delight all ages.

The nearby shopping on Oxford St will be a real treat for people who love to shop until they drop. From high end shops to the two very large budget Primarks, one will find something to take back home with them. After a morning strolling aroud the West End a special treat of a full English Afternnoon Tea will sure to become a special memory of your time in London. Yes, it can be somewhat expensive but it should be something that should be tried if you have the time and budget. The Ritz is by far the best in London. The Savoy, The Dorchester,Browns, and Clariddge's are all expensive but worth it.The National Portrait Gallery,The Wallace Collection and the Langham are more affordable and equally as good. Fortnum and Mason on nearby Picacadilly is also worth it. Their food hall is amazing/and even if you don't have time for the full Afternoon Tea you could buy some tea to take back with you. The tin cans are simply stunning in design.A great gift for those back home.

Best Of Fitzrovia -some of the best dining places are only moments from our flat

Beautiful flat, very well cleaned and fully equipped with everything you need: large screen TV, wi-fi , even a laundry machine! and the bed was something amazing!

Great location, loads of pubs and restaurant on the same road, literally 5 minutes walk from Oxford street where you can find all kind of shops and amenities. I would definitely stay there again next time! 5 star!!

Perfect property in an amazing location

  • 5 of 5

A friend and I took a long weekend in the apartment in December.

Couldn't have been happier.

The flat has two huge doubles with really comfy beds and they are both very quiet. The bathroom is massive and really well finished.

But the highlight is huge open plan living room kitchen with the terrific private roof terrace. And a special shout out to the awesome coffee table!!!

Plus its only minutes walk from everything in the West End.

Comfortable flat on quiet street

  • 4 of 5

Our family of six had a very pleasant stay in the Cleveland Street Fitzrovia flat. The location was very convenient to the underground and British museum. All of central London was just a few tube stops away. There are multiple family restaurants on the street and more upscale restaurants on nearby streets. There are multiple supermarkets in the area. We felt safe returning to our flat late at night. The street was very quiet with only a little car traffic.

The flat is above a ground floor office and an apartment on the floor above that. It occupies two levels-the first has two bedrooms and the bathroom. The second houses the kitchen, the sitting area, and an outdoor terrace. So there are many stairs which we did not mind at all, but might be an issue for some with certain health issues. The stairwell is narrow and scuffed and does not present the best first impression-but it gets better.

The bathroom is very nicely remodeled with tile and has both a shower and a tub. The master bedroom has a sizable queen and was very comfortable. There is a bookcase with many London guides. There is a drawer full of hair dryers and hair straighteners, etc. There were blackout curtains in the master. The size was adequate. There is storage, but much of it is filled with extra linens. So this is a mixed blessing. The floors were hardwood. The other bedroom has two single beds and is smaller. All rooms were well heated with radiators, but in the 2nd bedroom care is needed not to get too close to the radiator, something to consider with a smaller child. The bathroom has a heated towel rack, which was a nice feature.

The kitchen is very efficiently put together. It is not cramped and is open to the living space. The appliances worked well. The refrigerator was small but met our needs for the week. There were plenty of pots and pans and enough dishes. The dish washer worked well the one time we used it. Some of the Teflon surfaces of the pans are scratched and cutting knives need sharpening-things common to many rentals. There is a clever table containing four chairs against the wall which can be brought out for meals, etc. For our family of six we brought in two chairs from the porch. There are two sofas in the sitting area, at least one of which has a sofa bed. To sleep 6 using this space is necessary, which creates storage and privacy issues.

We had brief hot water issue and it was promptly resolved by the owner. I would recommend this flat to family.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your very useful comments about your stay in Fitzrovia. We're pleased you enjoyed the flat and the local area. James and myself lived locally so we're normally about if something needs attention. The hot water switch was just turned the wrong thankfully an easy thing to fix.I'll also have a look at the pans and sharpen the knives.I'll ensure to move the small bed away from the radiator in the second room. The open space of the kitchen and reception room works well for families and I'm pleased you also enjoyed it.Thank you for leaving the flat in such a tidy state! Best Wishes Charlene and James

Great location, needs fine tuning

  • 3 of 5

We stayed here for six days. The flat is in a great location, spacious and light. 15 minute walk to the West End, two tube stations nearby, Fitzroy Square is lovely, and the shops and restaurants on Tottenham Court Road are a few minutes away. The flat is very quiet, though with the windows open it might be less so. However, the street is quiet, so it would probably be OK. The bed is comfortable, there is lots of hot water - though the tub is very slippery. A rubber bath mat would be a good idea.

A major consideration is the stairs. There are more than forty very steep and narrow stairs from street level to the top floor of the flat: two flights up to the front door of the flat, then two flights up to the bedroom level, then two more up to the kitchen/sitting/terrace level. Not for the faint hearted or the weak-kneed!

When we arrived the flat was not very clean and well maintained. I contacted Charlene and she sent someone over the next day who spent most of the day cleaning and fixing. I was pleased with her quick response, but would have preferred the place to be in good shape when we arrived. There was no working phone, though I had been told that there was one. Charlene tried to get it fixed while we were there, but nothing happened.

The wardrobes and chests were full of the owners' stuff, so there was nowhere to unpack.

This being said, it is a nice flat and a great location. With just a bit more attention to detail and cleanliness (like cleaning the white couch and having enough matching dishes), this would be a wonderful place to stay.

Owner's Response: I'm sorry to hear that that you didn't find the flat to be in tip top shape upon arrival. We always ask our guests to contact asap if there's something that needs doing. Our regular cleaner was away and we used an agency one/and I'm very disappointed to hear that it wasn't up to scratch.I've taken this up with agency.I'm pleased that our handyman was able to fix everything for you.The phone is provided by Virgin Media and there were technical issues with the cable at street level. This had an impact on the entire street and not just our flat..The amount of stairs is standard for a Victorian conversion of that size and hopefully the size of the flat and the fact that it's on two levels rather than just one floor gave a feeling of space and more privacy for your family as I feel it's better to have an upstairs and a downstairs rather than being just on one floor. I'm pleased you enjoyed Fitzrovia and its shops and restaurants. Best Wishes Charlene and James

A fantastic vacation apartment!

  • 5 of 5

We love this apartment! The proximity to everything (Tube, restaurants, groceries, shopping, and etc.) is a big bonus to us. The apartment has everything we need for our 4 nights stay in London. The email communication with the owners, James and Charlene are prompt and easy. The greeter Helen is very helpful and provided us a lot of useful info. We got our deposit back the very next day. :-) Thanks James and Charlene for letting us stay in your wonderful place. We will stay here on our next trip to London for sure!

Easy Living

  • 4 of 5

Our stay at the Fitz was great. It was a great location. The place is spacious and easy to find even with all the stairs and narrow passage. Off the main area and away from car traffic is great. I would have given this stay a 5 star if a few things were improved.

1. It would be very helpful to leaving direction on how the oven works. It also would have been helpful in labeling the important switches in the flat to save LOTS of time. Took a while to know what switch went with the oven.

2. Having a working phone in the flat as stated would have been great since we are from the states and have no telephone with us. Was told one was working buy could not get a dial tone.

3. The flat has no working fan and on a warm day/evening it would be nice to have air movement that doesn't involve leaving the windows open. Both fans made horrible noises. The windows are awesome at keep the sound out and makes it hard to sleep at night hearing the noise with them open.

4. We have got spoiled having soap left in the houses we stay at. There was no shower or bathroom washing soap. Every place we have stayed at either has a body wash or travel soaps you can get for a few pennies.

5. Putting a flat sheet on the bed would have been nice but we found some in the flat after a search for the right size.

As you see these minor things that would NOT have kept you from enjoying the place just require thought to either figure out or adjustment.

Thanks Helen for meeting us early to drop our bags off. It was a great help.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your comments about your stay in our Fitzrovia flat.We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed the location and found the lack of traffic noise a huge plus. This street in Central London is almost free of any traffic noise so our guests can really enjoy some peace and quiet.I've have done some oven instructions and left them in our guidebook..That needed to be done. There was an issue with the cable company that provides the phone service.Thankfully it didn't have any impact on the internet ot TV. James and I have now put a pay as you go mobile phone in the flat just in case this happens in the future. There was body wash and soap in the small cabinet in the bathroom. This is something that we always provide and spare ones are also kept under the kitchen sink. There are plenty of spare linens and I'm pleased you found additional sheets.I know it's standard to have flat sheets in North America but not so much here in the UK.However, we do take this point on board. We purchased some new fans as you were correct about the old ones making abit of noise. We do hope you will stay in the flat again when you return to London and thank you for again for your comments as it's how we learn to improve things for our guests. Best Wishes Charlene and James

Fitzrovia is home to several traditional English pubs. We suggest that you have at least one drink in one.If you're staying on a Sunday, a pub Sunday Roast with all the trimmings is a great way to spend an afternoon. Most pubs have lovely outside space,so for those coming to London in the summer months this is a must.We have a selection of good pubs in our guidebook.

Art is the word in Fitzrovia. There are numerous Art Galleries in the area. The owners are friendly and don't mind people popping in for a look.

Escape the pressure of everyday life as you loosen up within one of London’s finest spas, Spa illuminata. It has been said to give out one of the best massages that you could possibly imagine. Apart from that, it does not give an all female vibe, as it has been a place for the secret male spa-goer. One of the best treatments that it offers is the Decleor Harmonie facial, with scalp, hand and head massage. Spa Illuminata is located in Mayfair. This is about 10 minutes from the flat..

Berkeley Spa would surely help you unwind from the stress of the city as it lets you unwind with certain therapies such as facials and calming massages. Clients swear the results such as soft and rejuvenated skin afterwards a treatment. The Berkeley Spa is located near Hyde Park.15 min from the flat.

If you're coming to London with some of your closest girlfriends then a vist to the women's only Sanctuary in nearby Covent Garden is a great day to spend a full day or early evening. This is 7 minutes from the flat.

For those wishing to keep fit whilst on holiday one will find that walking around Central London should do the trick. However, a number of gyms now offer daily memberships at a good rate.Good Vibes is an excellent yoga/spinning studio located 5 minutes from the flat.A run in Regent's Park is also a lovely way of getting some fresh air.
