SPACIOUS HOME WITH PANORAMIC VIEWS. HORSES & DOGS WELCOME. GREAT FOR REUNIONS

Estes Park House Rental Photos and Description

House, 4 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 10)

Estes Park is a little 'slice of heaven' and we have created a comfortable and spacious, warm home on an acre of gorgeous mountain meadow in the Carriage Hills community of Estes Park - the gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park.

From our 2,340 square foot two-story mountain home, we have incredible 360 degree ever-changing views of the gorgeous, snow-capped peaks and plenty of blue skies and bright stars.

You can walk to neighborhood lakes and a bike path that runs adjacent to the golf course and loops through downtown, Lake Estes, and the fairgrounds. Great for a leisurely walk or bicycle ride.

Your family will feel at home in our smoke-free vacation home. We especially welcome families, as we have children ourselves and know how hard it is to travel with children and still have a relaxing vacation. This is a great home to have a family get-together.

The master has a queen bed, as well as a full bath directly from the bedroom and a patio door with views of the snow-capped Mummy Mountain Range. Two bedrooms have queen-sized beds with patio doors directly to a wrap-around deck. The fourth bedroom has a full size bed and a twin size bunk bed.

The cathedral ceiling Great room offers dynamic views of the Twin Sisters, the Mummy Range with snow capped peaks of Chapin, Fairchild, and Ypsilon (13,514 ft), Lumpy Ridge and the beautiful Estes Valley. The Great room has windows that face east, west, north and south, and it is open to the fully equipped kitchen with everything you need to prepare a holiday meal or a picnic on the deck. Also enjoy a cup of coffee while reading the paper on one of the three bar stools at the log counter while conversing with the chefs. The Great room design allows families to be together to enjoy their vacation to the fullest as they prepare meals, watch TV and interact during the day.

The dining room table comfortably seats 6-8, and has the counter seating and the bistro table nearby so a family of 14 can enjoy a meal together.

Enjoy the additional bistro table for that morning cup of coffee or an evening of cards & games. We have plenty of puzzles and games to be played. Cozy up in front of one of the two fireplaces with a good book and a cup of tea or glass of wine. There is plenty of comfortable seating space to watch your favorite movie or sports event on the 47” flat screen TV. We have included many DVD’s and videos for the family. We also have free wireless Internet. If you are looking for a quiet place to relax and enjoy reading there is the living room and an additional family room to relax with your own book or one of ours. This home is designed to enjoy the views and the sunshine from every room.

Being inside is fantastic but being outside enjoying the mountain air, wildlife, and views from our wrap-around deck is even better. One can easily spend hours just relaxing on the large deck reading, enjoying Colorado’s deep blue skies and bright sunshine, watching deer or elk meandering by, and soaking up the beauty of these magnificent mountains. Don’t rush in from that afternoon thunderstorm, enjoy the smells and sounds without getting soaked. You will be protected by the covered patio.

Enjoy the views while you grill on our easily accessible outdoor grill or have burgers at our 8-foot picnic table. Or just relax with your favorite beverage while watching the ever-changing colors of the Mummy Range. Watch the hummingbirds drink nectar or observe deer, herds of elk, picas, or rabbits playing in the yard.

At night, the quiet and the cool crisp mountain air are perfect for sleeping after enjoying a glorious sunset, and gazing for awhile at a night sky filled with a million stars!

This vacation home is not just a place to stay. It is a place to be with family and great friends in a setting that will inspire and enrich you. You will love our vacation home as much as we do!! Come and make our home your “home away from home” while on vacation in Estes Park. You will be glad you did!

Guestbook comments from the owner
Dan, Thanks for sharing your wonderful house. We enjoyed out trip to Estes Park. Your house was a plus to the trip. We did not want to leave to go back home to Texas. The last night we were there, I was lying in bed on my tablet. My dog, Gunner, kept barking and running to the sliding door in my bedroom. I finally got up to see what he was barking at. I really thought it was your neighbors horse. No, there was a hugh herd of elk eating just outside the house. It was amazing. We watched them until it was to dark to see. This just made staying at your house more wonderful. Thanks, Dora

This area is one of the most beautiful areas of the rocky mountains. There are '14 ers' (mountains over 14,000 ft) surrounding Estes Park. Estes Park is a large enough community to have all the essentials and close enough to a large Metro area to enjoy shopping, professional sports, and museums. We are the gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park with miles and miles of hiking and horseback riding trails. There are trails for every level of rider that are easily accessible from our home. What a great place to come to snowshoe or cross-country ski. Down hill skiing is just 45 minutes away at Eldora Ski Resort. The wildlife abounds in the area right in our community of Estes Park. Come and join us for Elktober. This is when the elk come down from the high country in the fall to rut. You can hear Elk Bugling and see Bulls challenging each other. The rut is when the males are gathering their harem (females) for next year's calves.

Gather your kids and their spouses and your grandchildren. There is plenty of room for a family reunion. You won't find a home like this that has a quiet space for yourselves and a large great room for all to enjoy one another together. The views from this home are excellent in all four directions. See the high peaks and Estes Valley. There is plenty of room on this one acre lot to challenge each other in that outdoor family game. Or you can just sit on the wrap-around deck and watch the ever-changing mountain scenery. We hope you love it as much as we do!

VACATION 2014!

  • 5 of 5
Our family gathered in Estes Park for our yearly vacation. There were 6 adults and 4 children. We had plenty of room! The pack and play along with the high chair was very helpful to have. There were plenty of dishes and almost any kitchen item you would need! Everything was very clean. The view was so beautiful. The neighbor was very nice even after one of our Grandson's threw a rock on her driveway :) There was a short drive to downtown and the grocery store which was very nice. There was plenty of dish soap, garbage bags, etc but we ran out of TP so had to buy our own. The only other thing I would say is that it would be nice to have a recycling area!

Thank you for a great stay. We made the most of the property taking in the horseshoe pit and the fire pit. The grandkids made use of the air hockey game in the garage. The deck was ideal for taking pictures of the grazing elk. I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a stay in Estes Park. Not a far commute from town and just cozy. Thanks for the opportunity and would stay here again!

I am happy to hear that your grandchildren and the rest of the family enjoyed the family activities. If you think the Elk were fun to watch you should come in the fall and observe them during mating season. They are every where sparring with each other and Bugling. It is AWESOME. Come again we are open year round.
Thanks again

AMAZING STAY IN ESTES PARK WITH A WESTERN FEEL - BEAUTIFUL PROPERTY - WILDLIFE ABUNDANT!

  • 5 of 5
This beautiful home was a great escape for our family on a last-minute, extended weekend getaway from Omaha. We are a military family, and opportunities to take time off are often short with little advance notice. The owner was very helpful and flexible with our request to rent the home with only a few days notice, and worked with us on getting everything set up in time for our stay.

We had a party of 4 adults, 3 elementary-aged children, an 18-month old toddler, and a dog. The house easily accommodated all, with a room to spare. There was a pack-and-play and highchair already in the home, which was very much appreciated when it came to packing for the trip. The home was immaculately clean, very bright with lots of windows, and had an open floor plan for gathering with the family.

The upstairs featured 2 bedrooms with with queen beds, walkout sliding glass doors to the wrap-around porch, and one full bathroom. There were two seating areas (one with TV), an open kitchen/dining area, and a great room. There were also two wood-burning fireplaces, with firewood supplied, which provided a warm and authentic rustic atmosphere to sit by the crackling fire and decompress with mountain views in sight. There were three doors in the common areas to the wrap-around porch as well, which made it easy to step out for fresh air or let our dog out into the yard.

The downstairs featured another seating area (with TV), a bedroom with a queen bed, a bedroom with bunk beds and another full bed, and another bathroom. This arrangement was perfect for the two family parties that we had, as we could have some privacy as well.

The property was nestled in a quiet neighborhood surrounded by mountains on the outskirts of town. The wildlife was amazing as we were greeted by a herd of deer upon arrival, which visited several times, and then a herd of elk came into the yard on two occasions as well. The yard is very large with a wooden rail fence surrounding it, which made for a safe atmosphere for our children and dog. The stalls in the outbuilding made us wish we had horses to bring. The driveway was very large, and the 2+ car garage had direct access to the house and easily fit our full-size, long-bed pickup, which made unpacking/packing much warmer and faster.

Overall, this was a great getaway for our family, an accurately described house with close access to town and the National Park. We will definitely return. Thanks for a wonderful time, Dan!

Owner's Response: Thanks Brad.. It is great to have fantastic families stay at our home. I appreciate you taking such good care of it. Also thanks for serving in the military!
My daughter saw a Bobcat crossing the yard a few weeks ago. Estes Park is definitely the place to see wild life. Come in the fall when the Elk are in rut. The males are everywhere bugling for the females. It looks and sounds awesome. Thanks again and return son

BEAUTIFUL, RELAXING MOUNTAIN HOME

  • 5 of 5
This house is far enough from town to be a quiet vacation getaway in the mountains and still close enough to offer restaurants, shopping and the National Park just a few minutes away. We enjoyed seeing several elk and deer as well as a coyote and a bobcat come right through the yard! The house is comfortable, well maintained, and offers many thoughtful items that you might have forgotten to pack (eg. sewing thread and needle to replace a loose button). Also, there is both a Pack-N-Play (including a sheet) and a high chair/booster seat available which really helps cut down on the amount of stuff you need to pack when traveling with kids! The views from the house are spectacular. My husband and I kept commenting that there is a beautiful view out every single window in the house! We would highly recommended this house to others and we hope to return for another stay ourselves very soon!

We had a great time staying here. The house was the perfect size and as expected. It's in a nice, quiet neighborhood outside of Estes Park but not too far from town. The website is accurate in it's description and we would recommend this house to others and would consider staying there again.

CHRIS FROM OHIO

The place was very clean and the kitchen was well equipped with dishes and appliances and even spices that made cooking much easier. The views were excellent! Mountain bluebirds and other small birds were around all the time. A herd of elk visited one night and spent nearly an hour in the backyard. I would highly recommend this house to anyone visiting the RMNP. The adults and children were very pleased with the accommodations. Beaver are just a short drive just to the east! Te beds and furniture and decks were all very comfortable and well maintained. Dan is very helpful and excellent to work with. I could not have been more satisfied, it exceeded my expectations.

The entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park is only 5 minutes away with an endless amount of trails to hike for all ability levels and trout fishing to excite the eager angler in your group. If you love horseback riding, as I do, the trails are endless in the National Park and all around us in the national forest. You can even ride your horse from your vacation home. You can also rent horses by the hour, day or week at Sombrero Outfitters. In the summer and fall, hiking, horseback riding, rock climbing, river rafting, and similar activities for the outdoor enthusiast abound. A portion of the park is traversed by Trail Ridge Road, the highest paved road in the world, which is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day and offers unbelievable panoramas of the fragile and beautiful tundra.
