Carol and Scott have spent the last decade working with the Batwa pygmies of SW Uganda. In the 1970s we worked in Kathmandu, Nepal where our youngest son was born. We live next door and Scott is a doc in town. We both love to fly-fish and hike. Life is good!
We have been coming up to this area for years from the time our children were small and when Scott got a job in the area we decided we wanted to buy a place. The property we purchased had two houses on it and we thought why not rent one and let other people enjoy the beauty of this area.
This a true mountain retreat, close to town but private. If you enjoy nature this is the place to be!
The area is renowned for mountain biking (the "Downieville Descent" is the best in the West), great roads for motorcycles, world class stream fishing. Superb swimming holes and water falls. The Yuba River, Pauley Creek are famous for kayaking.
Mountain lakes are easily accessible for hikes and swimming.
