CROOKED LAKE CABIN IN THE AMISH HILLS.

Fairview Cabin Rental Photos and Description

Cabin, 3 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 6-8)

This is our family cabin on the lake, and we've decided to share it will a few lucky families. This is a quiet and beautiful lake with a fantastic, ever-changing view in the heart of the Amish rolling hills. Loons, Herons and eagles are common here, and I'm sure you'll see lots of other wildlife. This a clean, spring fed no-wake lake and there is good fishing as well. We spend most of our time on the deck enjoying the lake, or down near the water or on it. Inside the cabin, I'm sure you'll find it spacious (around 1300 square feet). It has an open floor plan, and is full of contemporary Michigan art from downstate. The master bedroom is quite large, and the other two bedrooms are somewhat smaller. The master has a king sized bed that can split into two twins. BR2 has a bunk bed in it, and BR3 has a full sized bed. The bathroom is average sized with a tub and shower. Everything is clean and functional. There is a television with DVD player, and a decent sized library of DVD movies. No television reception.

I'm an engineer at a firm in Oakland County, and have lived in the area for 40 years. We're new to renting a cabin, but we'll do our best to accommodate you.

Ray Crucet purchased this cabin in 2010

We bought this cabin for the great view and waterfront access and beach. The cabin was built by the owner of a hardware store chain, and we were impressed by the design and quality of construction. We love this area, and have been coming to this lake for almost ten years.

It's in the middle of everything, yet out of the way. The cabin is at the end of a cul-de-sac, so nothing but woods on one side and of course lake. Chances are you won't see any neighbors.

Peaceful

  • 5 of 5
This was our first stay at this location, having vacationed at another location for the past 12 years. The weather was perfect. The lake and the entire area was quiet. If you are looking for a get-a-way where no one will disturb you, this is the place. Shared our s'mores with two baby raccoons. Wish we had found this place sooner.

Ahhhhhhhhhh sleep

  • 4 of 5
We loved the cabin and the deck was beautiful. Everything was nice and clean. Nice and roomy easy to keep clean because it was nice and big. The only thing I wished that we had known was that there was no TV. We would have brought some movies from home. It was rainy and cold for a couple days and not much to do outside then. We had a very quiet relaxing time. We came home well rested and that was the main thing. It was a very good time. We thank you for sharing your wonderful cabin with us. We would love to come back. The owners were very gracious and allowed us to change a day due to a conflicting circumstance which was great for us. Thanks again.

crooked Lake

wow! What an amazing tranquil beautiful place! The view is amazing , the cabin was well equipped and extremely comfortable. We attended a family reunion , we wanted to stay on crooked lake as this is where my grandparents lived and my father grew up. There was nothing on Vrbo on the lake except for Rays cabin , which was occupied for the Fourth of July week, to my surprise , it was Ray's week at the cabin and he so graciously let my family rent his cabin as he knew how important it was to me. We had a blast! the fishing was great. The neighbors were very friendly. Overall I would give Ray's cabin a 10 out of 10. I cannot wait to visit next year!!

Very peaceful

  • 5 of 5
Stayed at the cabin in July and had a great time. The cabin has lots of room for a family. The view off of the deck is fantastic, and we enjoyed nightly fires down by the beach. There are woods to the left, which provides for lot's of privacy. The cottages to the right were vacant during the week, which made for a peaceful quiet stay. We saw lots of wildlife: loons, eagles, deer, and a red fox. We went swimming at the public access which is a short drive away. We visited the Amish bakery, and the pies were outstanding. We also bought pure maple syrup to take home with us. Went to Lake Huron, golfed, and canoed the AuSable while we were there. Thanks to Ray for letting us share his cottage.

Annual Family Trip

  • 5 of 5
My family and I have rented this great cabin the past couple of years and we will continue to rent it. The cabin has all the comforts a family would need to have an enjoyable weekend getaway. The lake is calm and quiet unless the wind really howls. You rarely see a boat on the water and as others have commented, the loons are watchful neighbors. The "corner" lot is spacious and there's plenty of room for kids to explore and see many animals. We saw a fox twice...
A great cabin and owner who makes everything easy!

Great time

  • 5 of 5
My family and I had a great time at this cabin. It's got a great view from the deck, it's a fantastic canoeing lake. The cabin was large enough for our party of four, and it was clean and neat. We had a few nice indoor fires and enjoyed the large wrap around fireplace. Outdoors the hiking through the woods around the cabin was good, and we had many bonfires with smores. Cooking over the fire-pit grill down by the lake is a nice touch. The cabin is located on a cul-de-sac next to 100's of acres of woods, and you get the feeling you have the place to yourself. We docked our boat in front of the cabin and floated for most of the week. Heaven.

ORV trailhead is nearby in Mckinley, and you can ride your dirt bike on the side roads to it. Tubing nearby at the Au Sable river. Bridle trails in the nearby Huron National Forest. Lots of hunting nearby, and great areas for Morel mushroom hunting as well. Our lake is a no-wake lake, and the boat launch is nearby. Please use the boat launch at the public beach for launching boats. Pull your pontoon boat right up on our beach. Canoe is available to renters. Firewood available nearby in town. I have tubes you can use. I have a beanbag toss game stored. Just ask. Here is a google map with other nearby sites http://g.co/maps/urtc7
