What an awesome place! Linda has created a paradise that welcomes everyone. Casa Linda is a beautiful palapa style home with amazing architecture and art work. Add to that a spectacular view, gourmet meals, sunshine and light breeze and you have a perfect vacation retreat.
Casa Linda and Zihuatanejo truly allow you to do whatever you want to do - when you want to do it.
The Nissan X-Trail is a nice touch that allows for very comfortable travel - whether to the supermarket or surf beach.
We rent vacation homes frequently in the USA and Mexico. Casa Linda is among the best we have experienced. The home is in a gated community, known as Monte Cristo, about a 5 to 10 minute cab ride to almost anywhere in Zihuatanejo, and about 15 minutes from Ixtapa. The resorts and restaurants on La Ropa beach, across Zihuatanejo Bay, may be a slightly longer drive depending on the road construction underway on that side of the Bay.
Zihuatanejo is a "must-visit" destination. Great scenery, restaurants, and shopping.
Our host, Linda Nutter, is great, as are her staff that take care of you three days per week.
The pictures do not do this home justice, but you will just have to see for yourselves.
The main living/eating/kitchen area is covered by a huge thatch palapa, facing SW to the Pacific (just beyond the infinity pool) and SE towards Zihuatanejo Bay -- wonderful cross breezes. The main floor has a half bath. The Master is on the main level, and is air conditioned if you wish. It's bathroom is huge. The other two bedrooms are downstairs, each with their own bath, also air conditioned, and with to die for views of the Pacific (as with the master).
If you don't wish to use the car that comes with the property, taxis are but a 5 to 7 minute call away.
We and one other couple shared Casa Linda for 11 nights, and I easily could have enjoyed a few more weeks. It will very comfortably take three couples. You will love this place and the Zihuatanejo area. Absolutely 5 Star.
It's hard to put into words what this property is about. It sits on a rock outcropping allowing breathtaking views of the Pacific and the city of Zihuatenajo. We watched whales and dolphins from the pool. (bring binoculars!) We enjoyed the comfortable and beautiful layout of the home itself. My son in law put it perfectly-it has a WOW factor when you first walk in-and that never goes away. It has all the amentities. You don't have to fight for a chair around your private pool. It is secure in a gated community. It is less than 5 minutes by car to the centro with wonderful restaurants and shops. Linda warned us the first time we traveled to Zihau that we'd fall in love. We have. Perfect is a pretty strong word but actually fits Casa Linda and Zihau. We will be back.
I watched the sun rise each morning and set each evening, simply by walking
from one side of the house to the other. It doesn't get any better than Casa Linda.
Just returned from a one month stay at Casa Linda. With this amount of time, I was able to get to know the area and really compare Casa Linda to other homes in Zihuatanejo. Without doubt, I consider Casa Linda to be the best offering in the area. The house is located on the North side of the bay, positioned on Punta Godomia. This location is unique in that it offers views out over the Pacific Ocean as well as back through Zihuatanejo Bay. The home sits in the most exclusive development in the area (Monte Cristo). It really is like living in the middle of a Nature Preserve. The home comes with a car that is available for rent which worked out very well (renting a car through an agency is always complicated in Mexico). We developed a routine (that I already miss!); breakfast under the huge outdoor palapa, a quick trip to a local gym (there is a Pilates machine for those who want exercise but don't want to leave, lunch at Carmelita's Restaurant (read reviews), a long relaxing afternoon in and out of Casa Linda's infinity edge pool perched out over the Pacific Ocean, an end of the day sunset walk through the beautiful Monte Cristo development and finally drinks in the out door livingroom to watch the lights pop on across the bay. I've rented homes throughout Mexico's Pacific Coast and I have to say that Casa Linda is my new favorite!
Why stay in an all-inclusive resort with buffets and shared amenities when you can indulge in personal five plus star service?
I spent a relaxing and interesting week at Casa Linda. Although I love being in the kitchen, I thoroughly enjoyed having someone else prepare gourmet meals for me. I was thrilled when I was able to assist with one dinner and learn how to really make a good mole.
I loved the master suite - complete with a King bed overlooking the Pacific and an outdoor shower surrounded by lush greenery. I would have been equally happy in either of the two other bedrooms (each with their own bathrooms and ocean views).
The infinity pool and surrounding deck were perfect for lounging and yoga. The ample built-in dining table was perfect for lazy meals and flowing wine.
Casa Linda itself is stunning. The palapa style architecture is enhanced with the local art. The reclaimed front doors with metal knockers are amazing as are the metal star lights that hang from the high roof beams. I tried to fit the 6 foot artisan vase in my luggage to no avail.
I took advantage of the SUV to explore the area. Troncones is a must, whether for a day of surfing, a yoga class, a long walk along the beach, or a yummy meal. Ixtapa is fun - dance with the all-inclusive crowd. Zihua is a fantastic blend of fishing village, artisan stores, local markets, and yummy restaurants.
I am planning my next trip with friends and family, ranging from 5 to 93, surefooted to cane enabled. I know Casa Linda will have something for everyone.
