About The Owner

I live about 4 miles away and am ready to help you with any activity or pursuit you may wish to pursue. I enjoy all the fruits of Alexander Valley and Northern California and know many local winemakers, wine growers. I also bicycle, hike, love fine dining and can help you with any local activity. Sonoma County bristles with opportunity from the very active to just sitting on the deck looking at the vineyards and birds. I am available at your request for any activity or issue you may have with your accommodations. I am equally happy to make myself scarce so you can enjoy the privacy this country home offers.

The Owner purchased this house in 2012

Guestbook comments from the owner

I stayed here with a group of 9 friends- all in our late 20s- most of whom flew in from NYC for a weekend getaway in wine country. We had the most wonderful weekend and can't say enough about this great house and amazing location! The property is literally surrounded by vineyards, and the sunset from the large backyard, complete with grazing horses in the field next to the house, was gorgeous! The backyard has a couple of tables which were perfect for eating outside, and several hummingbird feeders which were quite the hotspot for hummingbirds all weekend. There is also a hot tub just outside the house, which was so much fun for me and my girlfriends at the end of the day while our boyfriends played darts next to us. The location of the home is wonderful. So many vineyards within walking distances, and great ones a short car ride away. The Jimtown Store, a really cute old-fashioned general store, is just up the road, and you can eat breakfast or lunch there or order lunch boxes ahead of time for a day of wine tasting. The interior of the house was just what we needed. The beds were comfortable, and best of all was the really large, open kitchen complete with large dining table. We had a great time eating and playing board games at night. This house is really the perfect place for a large group looking for a fun, relaxing weekend or week together. Dell, the homeowner, was so easy to work with and had great suggestions for us. When we arrived, the house was full of fresh flowers, plus a bottle of wine for us and a bowl of apples to feed the horses with! We will definitely be coming back next year! Truly an idyllic wine country experience.

Wedding weekend with family

  • 5 of 5
My family absolutely loved everything about the house! The location is excellent, perfect for exploring Healdsburg, Geyserville, and other towns in the area. Those of us not used to wine country were thrilled by the vineyard right across the street.
The place is homey and spacious, and in between our weekend activities we could relax in the beautiful kitchen and dining room, the backyard porch — or the jacuzzi. We felt completely at home and were able to entertain a few friends thanks to the ample space with plenty of parking. There's not a thing I could criticize, from bathrooms to beds to the plentiful wineglasses in the superbly well-appointed kitchen. ;-)
We loved waking up in the morning to watch the hummingbirds and other birds visiting the feeders just outside the kitchen.
We also loved having breakfast at the terrific cafe just two doors down.
The owner was responsive, friendly, and very helpful. I am sure that we'll be visiting again.

family and friend get together

  • 5 of 5
It was a nice little vacay for family and friends from SF, LA, and Hawaii. Our friends have never been to Healdsburg so I set up the stay and places to check out. The owner of the VRBO was very nice to and helped me out with all my questions from the beginning. When we got to the house, it had nice curb appeal. I also loved the kitchen! The rooms were very spacious and had a lot of extra beds. The back yard was nice and fenced in so my little dog had a great time out there exploring. Overall a great experience!!

This house was a joy to stay in. The owner Dell did an over the top welcome for my friends and I and we couldn’t ask for more. I’ve rent a lot of properties in the pass and by far this was the warmest welcome I’ve ever received. House was clean and plenty of space for us all to sit around and just enjoy everything around us. The property is very close to a few wineries (walkable distance) and a general store which was fantastic for last minute grocery runs. We also stumble upon a Taco truck near the entrance to the 101 and had some amazing tacos. We would definitely rent this property again if we ever visit Sonoma again.

A great place to spend a relaxing weekend. Our group of 8 spent most of the time gathered either on the deck or in the beautiful large kitchen and dining area. Stay here, you will be happy you did. Thanks Dell!

Charming Country House

  • 5 of 5
This is everything described and more. Location is excellent, it's close to all the wineries and the near Healdsburg. The hummingbirds and horses in the backyard were delightful. You could stand underneath the bird feeder and watch close up. We fed the horses and even named them. The vineyards in the back made it so wonderful being in the heart of wine country.
Dell had a nice bottle for us at at our arrival. We found this place to be really great and roomy for 8 of us.
We could walk to the great country store Jimtown, great 3 twins ice cream, olive and fig dips and a variety of unusual candies and odds and ends. You could walk to Soda Rock Winery and that was great also. Anderson Valley and Lytton Springs (Ridge) wineries are also worth going to.
There are so many great places in the vicinity. Barndiva was delicious and a great restaurant. The French Bakery and Jim's Market are wonderful to make a great breakfast in the wonderful large kitchen.
The only thing I wish is we could have stayed a week. I will come back and stay at this home again with my family, we all truly loved it!!

Bird watching and biking are world class any time of the year. The house sits on open land, surrounded by vineyards, trees and horse pastures. The Russian River riparian corrididor is less than a mile away. This unique combination of micro-climate and habitat range creates a steady show of avian wildlife. Binoculars are provided but bring your own if you are already a bird nerd. The flocking of British Starlings in the Fall is a must-see for those who haven't. The Russian River is an easy mile away and affords it's own span of adventures. You can fish, swim, float, snorkle, lay on the bank and look for otters and at others. Medlock Ames is a halfway to the river and is a wine tasting room from 9-5. At 5 PM the AV Bar opens up out back. Fun place within staggering distance. There is a casino nearby if you are feeling lucky.
