Welcome to the ultimate in tropical designer living on the beautiful Pacific Coast of Costa Rica. Little expense has been spared to make Casa Dulce (Sweet House) the Villa you have always dreamed of renting.
The Villa has recently been completed. Special amenities include a private pool and landscape architect garden. The pool is in a longer style to accommodate those who like to swim laps, and equally refreshing for the pool lazers. On the deck are Indonesian day beds to laze on. There is a BBQ is there for your al fresco dining. The kitchen has a beautiful granite top bar with all utensils and crockery supplied.
As you enter the home you will immediately notice the wonderful unique double entrance doors that open into this tropical designer paradise. As you walk in you enter into a total feeling of being part of nature as the whole of one side of the house is windowed reaching up to the high ceiling. The fittings in the bathroom and kitchen are carved from plentiful woods indigenous to the area.
Claudia is the property Manager, and she has vast experience of managing many local properties. She is there to help you with any queries or problems. Daily maid service or chef can be organised at extra cost if you require it. when you arrive.
The property has been designed to maximise security with no windows accessible from the front and high side walls, it is a house that is not attractive to any opportune burglars and all the windows are fitted with anti theft roller blinds. There is a state-of-the-art motion sensor burglar alarm, iron bars on the front door and high barbed wire fence at the rear of the property.
The Villa has been designed to comfortably accommodate 4 people (2000 sqm). The main bedroom has a king size bed that overlooks the pool and the garden. The other bedroom has twin beds. All bedrooms have their own en suite bathrooms and deck area.
The house is located in a little hamlet called Surfside, which is mainly a N. American expat community. Within walking distance is a western goods supermarket and 50 yards walk away is Maxwell's Bar and Grill run by a Californian couple who have restaurants in Venice Beach.
Playa Potrero is a very interesting bay, Casa Dulce is only a couple of blocks from the beach. The Flamingo Marina is located at the south end of the bay. Sunset cruises, world class fishing and many activities await you. The perfect swimming/kayaking bay, gentle waves without any threatening riptides or undertow.
This is due to an offshore rim of a sunken volcanic crater which encompasses the large bay. You have a view of the Catalina Islands that are part of the crater and offer some of the best scuba diving and snorkeling in the region.
Three beachfront restaurants and two markets are within walking distance. Flamingo and Brasallito are minutes away by car. They offer shopping, banking, fine resaturants and many activities. Tamarindo and Playa Grande are 30 minutes from the Villa by car. Playa Grande is one of the few nesting beaches of the huge Leatherback Turtle.
Villa Casa Dulce is offered By the owner Rosie Wang. You can email here direct if you have any questions. She will be delighted to help you plan your perfect vacation.
Also working with Claudia who runs Flamingo Tourist Information and Manages Casa Dulce, we can ensure that your Costa Rican Experience will be one of your best ones yet!

About The Owner
I lived in Potrero, Costa Rica for 3 years, so know the area well. I worked as a diver and I also set up my own surf company which I sold. Point Break Surf is now going from strength to strength. I fell in love with Casa Dulce as it embodied all the elements that I love in a building. At the moment I live in Port Douglas, Australia where I still work in diving.
The Owner purchased this house in 2012
Why The Owner chose Potrero
Living in the area for 3 years I know that it's safe, that it is open to 'foreigners' and caters for Western tastes. Also with the infrastructure of being able to cater well for visiting tourists wish to partake in a diverse type of activities.
Being only 5 minutes walk to the beach it's ideal for dog walking, morning jogs and accessibility to main towns makes it great if you need more western style supermarkets, restaurants and food.
What makes this house unique
Just the complete feeling of being at one with nature. The well thought out planting of the garden and the foliage just makes one feel that one is really living in a jungle paradise. I didn't want to live in property in Costa Rica that could be anywhere in the world. The moment you stand outside the door, you know that this house is about a lifestyle, about a philosophy about bringing modern day living into a natural, light filled space.
Guestbook comments from the manager
Casa Dulce in Playa Potrero is an extraordinary house the front of the house is Colonial style and very save, but when you enter the inside and see how the high glass doors open up to the lush garden and pool area its so surprising and very pretty. We stayed here during our honeymoon and enjoyed the close by beaches as well as the privacy of the location. Thank you so much Rosie, you helped to make our honeymoon special.
