Very well maintained 1700 sq. ft. ranch less than 400 ft. from the Cheboygan River, which is part of the inland water way. Enjoy a refreshing drink on your private dock and watch the boats go by or jump in and cool off in the pristine water. Many vacationers enjoy simply floating down the river on tubes. The rental is an easy walk to a sandy quiet public beach on Mullett Lake.
Across the river near the mouth of Mullett Lake is the historic Hack-Ma-Tack Inn & Restaurant. Named after the Native American word for Tamarack it began in 1894 as a hunting and fishing lodge.
Today it is a fine dining restaurant. Check out their website or find them on facebook.
We are also fortunate to have the only full service marina on Mullett Lake near us. The marina offers fuel, mechanical repair (hopefully your visit will not include the need of this service, but if you do, they are there and happy to serve you), pontoon rentals, and too many other amenities to list here.
The property is located three miles south of the City of Cheboygan where you will find two grocery stores, movie theater, shopping, The Opera House, you can find a calendar of their events on the City of Cheboygans's website, parks, a variety of restaurants...some of which are reachable by boat. Cheboygan has a McLaren emergency room should a medical emergency arise.
Aside from all the water sports the area has to offer, we are close to several reasonable golf courses (open to the public), and for those desiring a heartier workout, miles of 'rails to trails' for walking, running or riding your bike. You can take the trail all the way to Mackinaw City, about 22 miles, or south to the city of Indian River. bout 15 miles. Desire a side-trip; enjoy hiking or 4 wheeling in the Black Mountain Recreation Area stopping by the Black Mountain Lodge for lunch or dinner, or visit Millcreek on your way to Mackinaw City or Mackinaw Island, all a short distance away.
Our family feels that starting the day on the deck enjoying our morning coffee or warm cocoa, as a family, or going by boat to Aloha State Park for freshly baked donuts is the right beginning for any day.
The smallest members of our family especially enjoy wrapping up a fun filled summer day sitting by the fire pit, winding down and enjoying a roasted marshmallow or s'more. The rental has it's own fire pit in a small wooded lot. Wouldn't your children enjoy ending the day with a camp out and a fire?
No little ones? That's okay, it's a great house for a retired couple who would like to send the summer in northern Michigan. Enjoy watching the day fade into evening on the dock with a drink and a good book or good friends, or in your three season room surrounded by the sounds of summer.
