Pacific Retreat was the perfect place for our vacation. Our plan was to visit Disneyland, Hollywoood, Seaworld and Universal Studios which we did with our 13 year old son and it was always a great pleasure to return "home" at the end of a busy day. The condo has everything one could wish for and was spotlessly clean on our arrival. We all appreciated the homemade cookies and fresh flowers that were waitng for us. Pacific Retreat has a lovely atmosphere and is very tastefully furnished. Our son was very happy to have his own space and was thrilled to have his own bathroom. It was a pleasure to prepare breakfast in the mornings and we also made use of the barbeque on two occasions.
Having a washer and dryer was a godsend as on the excursion free days we went to the beach and it was great to be able to load the washer up and get everything dried within a short space of time.
The complex is very well kept with lots of flowers and shrubbery. We found our neighbours to be very friendly and helpful and had some nice chats in the hot tub.
We spent our free time on Strand beach which is just over the road from the complex and it is one of the nicest beaches we have been to. We had great fun playing in the waves and our son learned how to use a Boogie Board. It was always very difficult to drag him out of the water at the end of the day. Everyone on the beach was very friendly and Patrick had no problems making friends there.
The town of Dana Point is very laid back and relaxed with many great restaurants and of course an abundance of fast food places for when you are too tired to cook but still want to eat at home. We don't have too many fast food places in Austria, mainly MacDonalds and Burger King, so Patrick was thrilled to be able to try Taco Belle and Pizza Hut, places he has only seen on TV.
Sarah is a very warm person.We felt quite at ease as soon as we met her and obviously this is reflected in how "at home" we felt at Pacific Retreat.
Staying at Pacific Retreat has made us rethink our future vacations. Previously we have spent them at All Inclusive resorts, but with a thirteen year old, spending two weeks in a hotel room was beginning to get a bit cramped.
I have absolutely no reservations about recommending Pacific Retreat to my family and friends. It was one of the best vacations that we have ever had!

We were here for 6 nights and totally enjoyed our stay. From the layout, cleanliness, and amenities of the kitchen, living room and bathrooms to the outdoor community pool, sauna and horticulture, we loved it. We normally get ocean view condos on the bottom floor when we stay in NIGUEL BEACH TERRACE condos, but we equally loved the second floor with beautiful tree and hummingbird views. Loved the 20 second walk to the pool, and we used the pool moreso on this trip than others. We too received fresh baked cookies upon arrival along with fresh cut flowers - so welcoming. We give Sarah and Rick's condo and hospitality 5+ stars. Thank you for a memorable stay!

Nice, clean condo. Very convenient location. We enjoyed Dana Point beaches and a quick drive to Laguna Beach. Great restaurants in both places. We also travelled up to Disneyland. Sarah was very helpful when we asked for recommendations for our vacation, she also worked hard to ensure we had a great stay. Having a washer and dryer in the unit was helpful and the beds were very comfortable. I would recommend this condo to my friends. You should definitely try Captain Dave's Dolphin Safari, recommended by Sarah, and a real highlight of our trip!
