Welcome to the Tourmaline House
We are located just steps to the beach, cafes and restaurants in North Pacific Beach, an authentic residential neighborhood in the middle of the fun. Our house is unique in the neighborhood, offering prime location and state-of-the-art accommodations that fulfill the needs of the modern traveler. Walk or bike to explore the neighborhood and visit the City's attractions all a short drive away. Relax in a spacious master suite with a king bed, 600 thread count sheets, full entertainment system and a large travertine bathroom with dual sink. Stay connected with wireless, watch blue rays with surround sound or plug in your phone to play your own music. Cook a healthy meal in the fully featured kitchen or barbecue and enjoy the outdoors in the grassy backyard. Experience San Diego like a local with our Things to Do map. We have beach gear, 2 bikes and a wagon for kids. We also have a high chair, a portable crib and toys. The house is a single floor plan, perfect for little ones or anybody who is uncomfortable with stairs. There are 3 bedrooms, sleeping 8 guests in beds. All bedding and mattresses are new. The luxurious master suite has a king size bed with a memory foam top mattress and dual closets, private bath and a complete tv system with flat screen tv, blue ray player, cable and surround sound. Bedroom 2 has a queen bed and bedroom 3 has 2 bunk beds, sleeping 4, and a crib available upon request. The 2 modernly appointed bathrooms are large and conveniently divided with a separate area with a dual sink vanity and mirror. Master bedroom is travertine and has a large walk in shower. Guest bathroom has a Jacuzzi jetted tub. In the living room, our large sectional sofa comfortably seats the whole group while you watch a movie in our fully featured entertainment system or relax by the fireplace. Stay connected with wireless. We provide board games, toys, a variety of beach gear (chairs, umbrella, cooler, sand toys, boogie boards) a beach wagon for the kids and 2 beach cruiser bikes. In our safe, enclosed backyard the kids and the family dog can run around while you barbecue and dine outdoors. Our kitchen is fully equipped for cooking and dining, we even have a wine cooler.
Location
The house sits 2 blocks away from Tourmaline Beach, a 5 minute walk to the beach. This area is the north end of Pacific Beach, a local's paradise, as the tourist crowds concentrate further South. Beach has lifeguard and bathroom.
Shopping
A 3-minute walk from the house you'll find Turquoise St, with a grocery store, gas station and numerous shops, restaurants and bars. You will also be equally close to cute cafes and restaurants on Cass St. Easily reachable on bike are Garnet Avenue, the center of the beach night life, and and the shopping strip in Birdrock.

Even before you arrive, we'll send you a map with our favorite things to do in the neighborhood. We are sure you know about Sea World and Legoland, but here you'll find food, events and places to visit you may not have heard about. As Pacific Beach locals, we want to share some of our personal picks with you and hopefully make you feel like a local too.
We are pet-friendly
Your well-behaved pet is welcome with a pet fee ($10/night) and additional deposit ($200).
Sustainable and Comfortable
We are taking steps to reduce our energy consumption while keeping our guests as comfortable as ever. Our home now has a tankless water heater and our new acquisition, a whole house fan that circulates the ocean breeze throughout the house, keeping everyone cool for a fraction of an AC's energy usage. Coming soon, we'll be installing solar panels to harness the ever present San Diego sunlight! Your vacation's carbon footprint will be tiny when you stay at the Tourmaline House.
Business travelers
We are 18 minutes away from Downtown, airport and Convention Center. We often house business travelers who bring their families along or simply split costs with roommates. Why stay at a boring, expensive downtown hotel when you can work and have a vacation at the same time?
