This is how to travel

  • 5 of 5
My husband, our four adult children and I had four wonderful days here. We had stayed in Rome last year in a hotel, which was very nice, but this was amazing. It added a whole new dimension to the experience of being in Rome. It was a very warm week and the ac was exceptional, better than our hotel in August!
Excellent wifi, great location. HUGE apt for all of us to spread out in and relax. Washer and dryer were great. We felt very secure with the locked street door in addition to our apartment door locks.
We got up in the morning and walked to the Campo di Fiori for fruit and stopped for pastries on the way home. My son figured out the italian coffee maker but you could get your coffee at the shop to the left of the street door. Everyone we met in this neighborhood was wonderful. I dare not recommend it, in case it becomes too popular and is not available for our next visit.

A Success!

  • 5 of 5
For our first VRBO experience, we are thrilled with this choice. As a family of five adults traveling to Rome for our first visit, the Grandorsetto could not have been more perfect. The location is central and wonderful for sightseeing (the Coliseum is a longer walk.) There is a restaurant down the street that we will add to the must-eat category of our shared notes. It is bright, spacious, comfortable and a marvelous retreat at the end of a day exploring the city. There is shared space and private space - important for a group of adults together. Each bedroom is suited with a bathroom. While there were a couple of little plumbing details that needed attention, the bathrooms are modern and clean. There is air conditioning that is controlled by unit for each space - excellent! We used the family table in the kitchen as my Italian family did, breakfast in the morning to lemoncello and biscotti at night - for EVERYTHING! Given the opportunity, we will certainly return to the Grandorsetto.

Perfect Spot in Central Rome

  • 5 of 5
Three sisters and our husbands stayed here early in the spring. We found the location to be ideal for our walking tour of central Rome. When we returned at the end of each day it was great to have this large living space to relax and wind down. We felt very safe here, and found it very quiet for sleeping. But just a short walk to the activity of Rome. Great restaurants and cafes in the neighborhood too. Wish we could come again soon!

Grand Orsetto was a,great base for our family visit to rome. Perfectly placed on a charming small street, the apartment is set on the far side of a courtyard providing a serene, quiet and spacious respite from he busy streets of Rome. Clean, comfortable and well appointed. Even better than the photos. Super roomy for our family of four, could easily accommodate three couples or a larger family. Right in the center of Rome - a great location for all the main sites and charming neighhborhoods. Really you can't go wrong.

The apartment was fabulous. There was plenty of room for our party, the spaciousness and the high ceilings were a plus. Most everything was in walking distance. The photos on the web site are very accurate and the property is well maintained and clean. We thouroughly enjoyed our stay in Rome and by staying in an apartment vs a hotel made us feel more in touch with the area. I would highly recommend this apartment to any of my family and friends and I look forward to one day returning to your beautiful city.

The Perfect Place

  • 5 of 5
I cannot say enough about our stay at Grand Orsetto. From my first contact with Filippo to our arrival, he was generous with helpful information. The apartment is better than the photos, very spacious, comfortable and clean. The bathrooms are all updated.and the beds extremely comfortable. We loved the nighborhood and the convenience to everything we wanted to do was basically within walking distance.

There are several restaurants in the neighborhood. The two most memorable were at L'Orso 80 and the Bad Bear.

We truly enjoyed our home in Rome!

PIAZZA NAVONA is one of the grandest piazzas in Rome, a triumph of baroque art, where Bernini and Borromini, two giants of architecture, challenged each other with their formidable masterpieces. The fountain of the four rivers by Bernini faces the great church of St. Agnes, by Borromini. Nearby, in Corso Rinascimento, Borromini built one of the finest examples of Baroque, the magnificent church of St. Yves. Don't miss it!

Piazza Navona is busy all day, except in the early morning, its best time.

VIA DELL'ORSO is a characteristic street of old medieval Rome, prior to the baroque period. It is a limited traffic street, very quiet, and yet very close to most visiting sites.

From there you can easily reach your destinations, all within walking distance: Piazza Navona (150 m), Pantheon (600 m), Trevi fountain (1 km, 10 min), Campo di Fiori (800 m), Saint Peter (2 km), Castel Sant'Angelo (800 m, 9), Spanish Steps (1 km), Tiberina Island (1.7), the Ghetto (1,2 km), Capitol (1.6 km, 20), Colosseo (2,1 km, 25), Ara Pacis (700 m).

For City transport, please check this web page in english: http://www.atac.roma.it/index.asp?lingua=ENG. It includes subway and buses. It may help you plan your stay in Rome.
