Charming arts and crafts bungalow in Amherst, Massachusetts. Sleeps 7 or 8. Four to five bedrooms. Three bathrooms, two with full tubs, one with walk in beautiful shower. This house has a beautiful dining room with an expanding table and William Morris wallpaper. Wainscoting throughout entry, living room, dining room and sunroom. The house has 4 bedrooms downstairs and one refurbished attic suite with the bathroom. The master bedroom has its own bathroom as well. The kitchen is large and homey with a cozy booth for breakfast. The house is filled with interesting books; literature, biography, children’s books and more. There is a large deck off the kitchen with a screened-in gazebo for summer evenings. The house sits on 1 ½ acres in South Amherst – two miles from town, one mile from The Eric Carle Museum, The Yiddish Book Center, Atkins Fruit Bowl and very close to all 5 area colleges – Hampshire, Mt. Holyoke, Smith, University of Massachusetts and Amherst College.
The house is fully equipped with dishes, cooking utensils, linens and towels. The basement has laundry facilities and a ping pong table and couch. Can come with cross country skis and snow shoes for slight charge.
The area (Pioneer Valley – 5 College Area) is well known for its cultural attractions, Puffer’s Pond for swimming, and its proximity to charming Northampton, Massachusetts (8 miles over the Connecticut River). Many recreational and cultural activities available. A great place for kids or for a quiet, romantic country getaway. No pets please. In close proximity to Emily Dickinson House, Fine Arts Center at UMASS, Smith College and Amherst College Art Museums, horseback riding, hiking trails and many fine restaurants.
