2013 SEASON BOOK GOLF OUTING - 5 BR HOUSE OCEAN VIEW

I was looking at possibly renting this house again for next year. I looked at the reviews and saw one from someone that wasn't very pleasant. I was shocked because our experience at this property was just the opposite!! This was the perfect house for my family. The ages ranged from 6 to 66 and everyone had a fantastic time. The house was exceptionally clean and the owner was very helpful. The set-up of the bedrooms worked great, the pool is just the right size and the house is located in a very convenient area. You can walk to local restaurants, bars, beach shops, etc. We also enjoyed sitting on the front porches in the morning with our coffee and watching the sunrise. I would recommend this property to any of my friends and family!!

Just wanted to let Danny and Gregg know that we loved their beach house !! This was our first time staying at Surfside and would definitely rent their house again ! Very well stocked kitchen ( only had to buy platter and baster for turkey ), was surprised it had a crockpot ( which we used twice ) ! All the rooms in the house were very nice sized and we never felt cramped ! The wide open living/dining area was great for nightly games when local family and friends came over ! Pool was a plus for the kid's and my husband loved the new grill to cook on !! Never rented a beach house that had so many xtra pillows and blankets! Totally enjoyed sitting on the upstairs balcony , in the mornings , drinking my tea , watching the waves roll in under the pier !! Can't wait to come back !!

The cleanliness of the house was very disappointing. When we arrived, I thought that the house had not been cleaned. There were fingerprints all over the sliding glass doors on both levels, the dining table and outside tables had coffee cup rings, hair, and dirt. Dirt and dust filled all the vents as well as the ceiling around them. The two couches in the living room were so dirty no one sat on them all week. One of the toilets was splattered with feces. When the keys that were left did not work in the door, I called the property manager. I told him the house was dirty and the keys did not work. He said he would send the cleaning lady and I could tell her what needed to be done. The property manager, should have handled this, not me. Unfortunately, there was nothing the cleaning lady could do to improve the condition of the house. It would take a cleaning crew to get the house in the proper condition. The manager arrived with the correct keys and cleaned one vent that had 1/4 of dust throughout and he gave me the impression that he was annoyed by our complaints. I understand that rental properties will have some wear and tear, but I don't think it is too much to ask that the place be clean, especailly for the price we paid.

The cockroaches came later in the week. They do carry diseases and totally freaked us out. We called the property manager again and asked what could be done and he said he would come by in the morning and spray. He never showed up.

The day before we were scheduled to leave the property manager left a voice mail on my phone saying that he had called the police in order to remove us from the house and he hoped that we would cooperate. Apparently, he was not aware that we had the house until the following day. I did not appreciate his threat. I left a voice mail for him saying to come over and look at the contract or to contact the owner and we never heard anything more. Not even an apology. This was very upsetting. We were afraid to leave the house for fear that our belongings would be out on the street. I contacted the owner and eplained our vacation experience and I never received a reply....big surprise!
