The best summer vacation for the past 10 years

I look forward to staying at the Homestead every summer and have stayed at this condo each year for the past ten years. The location of the condo is easy to get to and the view of Lake Michigna and the Manitou Islands is fantastic. We have watched the most beautiful sunsets from the balcony overlooking the lake and stayed out to star gaze well into the night.
The condo is very clean, well decorated with fun and funky art and cozy furnishings that give it the feel of a vacation home. The kitchen is great for making breakfast in the morning for my family and friends or for lunches to take down to the beach. A trip to Carlson's Fish Town in Leland is an annual day trip to shop, and buy fresh fish for dinner and visit the Stone Bread House Café for a loaf of fresh bread. I love to eat and between Traverse City, Leland, and Suttons Bay the variety of restaurants, fresh foods to cook yourself and pubs make the condo a fun destination for us every year.
My son likes to sit on the beach at the condo for hours and look for rocks to take home as souveniers (he occassionally finds a petosky). When we need a change it is easy to rent a paddle board, sailboat, or floating trampoline (these are awesome) from Sunset Watersports. The best part is the company drops it off and picks it up so we just play.
When we want a break from the beach there is a great forest with trails right out the door of the condo. My son and I like to take hikes and wade in the and the Crystal River that runs through the woods.
I have tried to give an idea of some things to do and places to eat, but the main thing is we have a new experience each time we go to the condo. It is new each year but reassuring knowing where we are going and that we will have a comfortable place to stay. I like the familiarity.
One last thing, you have to take the kids or adults to the Cherry Bowl Drive In when you stay here. It's a hoot and lots of fun.
I am looking forward to our week this summer.
