Charming Cabin!

Cabin was very clean when we arrived. I couldn't believe how much snow was there. The neighbor had plowed the driveway and cleared the steps prior to arrival and came to salt it when we arrived because we had trouble getting up the small hill. It was a beautiful location and just what we needed. It seemed like everything we forgot to bring (like dish soap, laundry soap, dryer sheets, dishwasher soap etc.) was there at the cabin left by the owners or a prior guest, which was nice. The location was great. The kids loved the Wii. I loved the fire pit and the outdoor picnic table and deck. The gas fireplace was also very nice. Cooking supplies were great. We went sledding at Sugarloaf (very fun) and hiking around Ohiopyle (must see the Cucumber falls just off the road). The only things I didn't like about the place were: 1) that the shower temperature was very difficult to adjust to a comfortable temperature (not a big deal) 2) the kitchen didn't have enough pantry storage space or counter space for all of our food (we stayed 5 days with 2 families), and the worst problem unless you came prepared with lots of bottled water was.. 3) the tap water tastes pretty bad.
The owner was very accommodating and kind. We will definitely be coming back!

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review! We are so pleased to hear you had a wonderful time. Sugarloaf and Cucumber Falls are key areas to visit! Sugarloaf (free sledding) is especially wonderful in the winter. For future guests, if you are concerned about the tap water, bottled water is a good idea. We have spent a considerable amount of money to improve the water quality and actually have good water (though certainly not great) for the area. Water (having it or it not being full of iron or sulfur) is a real challenge in the greater Ohiopyle area; so, we are grateful for what we have but understand the feedback! Which is why, we are so excited as owners to have public water coming to our street (most Ohiopyle residents are not getting it) sometime later this year. Yeah! In terms of the tight kitchen quarters, yes, we would agree, which is why we really recommend parties under 6 adults for the best experience. We actually build into our lease agreement that parties over 6 overnight adults require permission because we want to present this and ensure an optimal experience. As owners, we are a large family with seven kids and when we all stay at our Turning Leaf, it is tight. Nonetheless, we are seeking (and by the way, priced accordingly) for that couple that wants to get away for the weekend, the small family seeking a "staycation" location or a girl's weekend destination. We may not be the best option for a large group (above 8) or two families staying for multiple days---unless you really like being "close" to each other. :) Nonetheless, thanks so much for staying with us, providing your thoughts and sharing our home! We would love to have you back again real soon.
