Our beautifully hand crafted home is now available for you. Enjoy our clean, spacious and fully furnished home. It is centrally located at the south end of Christina Lake on a large and cozy, treed private lot about a block from the public beach, baseball diamond, tennis courts, children’s play parks and within walking distance from shopping, restaurants, ice cream parlours, mini golf and the Christina Living Arts Centre.
The home features a fully equipped kitchen and ample accommodations for 6, with 2 bedrooms (Queen Beds new for 2014), plus a hide-a-bed (Queen) and a full bath (tub/shower).
The bunkhouse is available if additional space is required. The bunkhouse also has a bathroom with shower and a 40' flat screen TV w cable. Great for keeping the kids occupied while you spend some quality time with your significant other.
Pillows, linens and towels/beach towels are provided.
The spacious covered wraparound deck overlooks a beautifully well-groomed yard. Perfect for meals with the family or just to have a good read with a cup of tea. The fire pit is perfect for telling stories, chatting and passing around the old acoustic guitar. (Wood Provided).
Keywords: Trapper's Bungalow is a Rancher Style Bungalow. It has approximately 1,100 Square Feet of floor space and is situated on a 17,500 Square Foot green and well manicured property. Great location!
Ellen & I (Travis) the proud owner's of Trapper's Bungalow. We are both young professionals and have recently relocated to Australia after living in Brazil for 5 years. Ellen is Brazilian & I am Canadian and was raised in Christina Lake. We love to travel, relax and enjoy great quality services. Mountain biking & water sports are among our favorite things to do. We met in Brazil and consider ourselves to be very fortunate as globalization has treated us well.
The Owner purchased this bungalow in 2008
Initially we chose to buy the house because I grew up beside it. My parents are still living next door. The house was built by the former owner, a very skilled craftsman whom we know very well. The location is great and the neighbours are very sweet. We always look forward to spending time there and will retire there at some point.
Within a few blocks you can find the public beach, tennis courts, play parks, basketball, baseball, soccer, fishing holes at the creek, restaurant, convenience store, public swimming pools, beer & wine, gas station, community hall and the elementary school.
If you'd like to venture a little further (10 - 30 min walk), you can find more restaurants, coffee shops, ice cream shops, gift shops, grocery stores, pub, lounge, greenhouse, adventure sports store (rentals & tours), arts center, provincial parks, hiking/biking trails, boat launches, mini golf and other beaches.
Or, hop on the car (5 - 20 min). Cascade Falls, Kettle River, Cascade Golf Club (18-hole pro course & 9-hole par 3 course), Owel Mountain Ranch Horseback adventure, more provincial parks, Christina Lake Marina (Boat Rentals). Grand Forks (Movie Theater, shopping, restaurants, bars).
Red Mountain & Phoenix Ski Hills are a 40 min drive from the house.
We have some great contacts in the area for boat tours of the lake, mountain bike tours of the TransCanada Trail, some of the best biking you can find in the world. We can also help with reservations for weddings or private functions at a few different locations complete with catering services.
We are on our final day of a 9 day (8 night) vacation at Trapper's. The bungalow exceeded our expectations... The house was as pictured, was clean, great location (close to beach), had new beds, & had beautiful yards with multiple seating areas. The hosts, Sandy and Rod (also neighbors) added many personal touches, including personalized emails, welcome treats for adults and kids, and suggestions for community adventures/ activities that fit perfectly for our family. Thanks to Sandy & Rod, we were welcomed to the community & felt 'at home' from the start. The lake was warm & was fantastic for boating & swimming. We are eager to share our experience with others & look forward to returning!
We have stayed at many VRBO properties for our holidays, and this one did not disappoint. Sandy and Rod go above and beyond to make your stay a fantastic one. The condo was well stocked when we arrived and we were touched by the welcome basket and basics supplied to get us going in the fridge (which included freezies for our two boys!) We had great time sitting by the firepit in the back, enjoying the beach and biking sections of the trans-canada trail with our boys. The place was SUPER clean and has everything you could possibly need - you will not be disappointed with your stay!
We had a wonderful time on our vacation. The description and pictures of the bungalow accurately portray the location, but don't let you know just how homey and comfortable it is. The property was clean, orderly, and well-stocked with more than what we expected. The owners were welcoming, helpful, considerate, available, but not intrusive. We felt that we had lots of privacy and really appreciated the quiet setting with little traffic and wildlife right outside the window. It is in an excellent location with a short walk to the beach (which was also not as busy as we had expected). We would love to rent this property again and would recommend it to any of our friends or relatives. The playgrounds, tennis courts, and beach are really close, and it doesn't take long to get to the marina, hiking trails or other nearby attractions. We really enjoyed the enclosed yard at the back and the wrap-around covered deck. The kids could safely play outside without us worrying about their safety or location. The owners welcomed us all so genuinely and generously supplied gifts for us and each of the children. We were overwhelmed with their kindness. You won't go wrong renting this place from these people.
Clean, nice, comfortable home with lots of shade in yard and covered decks. Bunkhouse handy for 2nd family. Sandy and Rod were very, very kind and left things to make our stay amazing- staple groceries, gifts for each child, extra toothbrushes and Chapstick - the list could go on and on. These things were in addition to the more than well-stocked kitchen (birthday candles! (which we used), bathroom (towels, beach towels, bath oil beads which our girls had an affinity for!) and yard (lawn toys, wagon). The list could go on and on - needless to say, we hope to be back!
Very nice cabin! Extremely clean and well stocked!!! Very close to beautiful Christina Lake. Rod and Sandy were very, very welcoming and sweet!!!! We were treated more like longtime friends then guests. :)
Sandy and Rod make you very welcome in this wonderfully appointed home. The place was spotless and had everything we needed. A wonderful vacation experience. It was even nicer than we expected from the pictures. Very private and close to public Beach access. We would highly recommend this rental.
