Algarve’s biggest private pool 18 x 6 meters belongs to us. Fabulous views on the sea and mountain are waiting for you. The villa is located closed to Lagos and Portimao and has a private tennis court just for you. There is an enormous room overlooking the gardens with snooker, pool and table tennis. There is a dining and sitting area. The pool house is fully equipped with lounge-, dinner- and cooking area, fireplace for chilly evenings, outdoor shower, toilet and storage. In the outside there is a car port, exotic garden plants and a fruit garden. The main house has 2 fire places, antique and typical Portuguese high standard furniture and linen, also for the pool. Sonolento has been the pearl of many high standard magazines for lifestyle and real estate in the past few years. We offer a cleaning service. It is located only 45 minutes from Faro Airport and 25 minutes from Albufeira. Enjoy the rocky Algarve sand beaches in south or desert sand beaches on the west coast. B & B possible.

As from september 2009 Villa Sonolento uses B & B formula for short or longer stay. Breakfast and dinner on demand. Pool and Tennis always available, Free access to games room with billiard, snooker, tabletennis etc. Free use of Poolkitchen and BBQ. The room on the ground floor is a family room wit 4 beds and the only room on the groundfloor. Therfore very private and independant. (65 euros/night/2 pax or 90euros/4pax)

Odiaxere is a typical village where the Portuguese live their common lives. There are a good bakery and grocery shops nearby. Food market is every morning except Sundays. Portimao is ideal for nightlife, wandering around on boulevards near the sea, it has many shops, souvenirs and wine & dine. Shiny sand beaches are close to Portimao. Alvor offers you beaches, shops and dining near the little harbour in many BBQ-restaurants or high standard restaurants. Lagos is famous for museums and leftovers of many centuries of history, from the British period, the Moorish and the Spanish. Marina in Lagos offers shops and restaurants. The centre is traffic free and beautiful to visit at night or during the shopping hours. It is always a little windy and never too hot. West coast makes you think to be in USA. Steep cliffs on beautiful beaches, big surf and the ocean only for you give you a lot of privacy.

  • Villa Sonolento has 600 m² covered rooms. One of them is a 120 m² room with pool and snooker tabletennis and also a beutiful diningroom as an extra to the main living/diningroom and the pool dining room. (All big tables seat aprox. 10 people each). This area is the perfect occasion to let the children (above the age of 8 years) lead their own lives, so that you can enjoy a peaceful stay amongst adults. When they wake up, they can play any sort of game inside , play tennis or go for a swim without disturbing your peaceful morning. Although there is no bathroom in that area, they can hop over to the poolarea and have a good clean-up under the open air shower, if they wish so, providing hot water as well. In the poolearea you'll find also a fully equiped toilet, so no need to disturb the adults. This formula is possible only when renting the whole of the villa, not during B&B occupation,

Notes: The maid comes in twice a week and will provide you with clean linen and towels. If you need her more often we have to discuss terms with her. Villa Sonolento might be the wrong place for unattended children under 5 years old. There are some beautiful marble staircases but as you know, marble is hard. Furthermore, the top floor is surrounded by terraces with little walls, safe enough but not if they climb on them. Therefore, we provide two extra beds in bedroom nr 4 (low level) and if needed an extra baby bed. We will not take any responsibility for accidents that happen because of leaving children unattended.

golf & tennis: Swim in refreshing ocean water all round the area. south or west. Choose one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. The area is sandy like a desert here and rocky with astonishing sunsets there. Enjoy water sports on the waves of the ocean like never before. Sail, ski or go fishing. Otherwise just get tanned under the hot sun with a nice breeze all year round. We own 2 golfsets for rental, 20 euro/day/set Tennisrackets 10euros/week/racket

Surroundings: Choose between leisure, culture, restaurants, discos or typical shopping. 5 big supermarkets are only 10 minutes away or go shopping in the small typical shops in the village or on the market in the morning. Visit Alantejo, Aljezur, Alvor and Portimao or drive up to Lissabon (2.5 h) to taste typical Portuguese life other than the Algarve’s. Sleep out for some night in Portugal’s famous pousadas, monumental buildings converted into beautiful hotels. Why not visit Sevilla, the pearl of Spanish history. No expenses for highways and only one hours drive, then your are in Spain. One more hour....and there is Sevilla herself!!

Golf: All year round there are many golf possibilities on the many different golf courses offered in the Algarve.

Villa Sonolento is a fantastic holiday rental. It is spacious, well equipped, well maintained and the upkeep is terrific. This area is a quite residential hill with easy access to Lagos for shopping and restaurants.
The villa description and photographs paint a very a reliable picture of the actual villa.
The furniture and the décor is well chosen and of very good quality.
During our stay, we spent a lot of time around the pool, in the Moroccan lounge, in the play room and at the tennis court. The rooms were comfortable, clean and the maid ensured that we had clean towels, linens and that the house was clean.
We stayed in the Villa as a group of 4 families with kids ranging from 9 to 16, everyone enjoyed themselves and we would highly recommend it to anyone.
