This is the lake cottage your grandmother visited during her childhood. Charming, original 1920 features. Big remodeled kitchen (new stove/oven) and big living room for family reunions and guests. Sleeps 8 in comfort; it has often slept 20. Porch overlooks Lake Wononscopomus -- deepest lake in Connecticut. Close to train to New York and recreation facilities, adjacent to Hotchkiss School and Interlaken Inn. Great fishing, hiking, antiques, golf, tennis, fall foliage, summer theater, dance and art. Superb porch sitting. A wood stove and fire-place deal with extra-cool evenings or mornings.

Cultural Activities -- Near Lakeville, CT: Within a few miles of Lakeville, CT are features that include Tanglewood, Jacobs Pillow, Tri-Arts Sharon Playhouse, Music Mountain, Norfolk Festival, Railroad Days, excellent restaurants, and lovely NW CT countryside. We are five miles from the Appalachian Trail and many other hiking options. Lake Wononscopomuc is cool and clean all summer. It drops to 180 ft within 250 yards of our shore. Kayak, canoe and a catamaran available.

Sports: Sports include all low speed water sports -- no water skiing. Fishing is excellent for Lake trout, bass, pickerel, perch, and catfish. Many other lakes streams and ponds in the area. The Hotchkiss School Golf course is about 300 yards away and other nearby and publicly available courses are in Sharon, Amenia and North Canaan. Tennis is available at town courts a mile away. Horse-back riding is nearby. Lots of hiking opportunities.

Notes:	Think 1920s lake cottage with big living room (30'x35') and front porch (12'x36') overlooking the lake. Lake Wononscopomuc restricts motor boats to 10 hp or less; therefore no water skiing and no loud boats. Lake access is either via a short stair-case and dock or a longer staircase and a small beach. The lake is the deepest in CT and always cool. A woodstove in the living room and a fire-place in the kitchen can cope with weather in the 30s and 40s. Recreational activities include golf, tennis and hiking --- all within 300 yards --- and water sports. You are welcom to our two kayaks, 15' Hobie Cat and 65 year old canoe. The Interlaken Inn is about 200 yards away and offers a restaurant, bar and escape for adults. Groceries, clothing store, book store, movie theater, etc. are 3 miles away in Millerton, NY. Pets and children are welcome with the normal, 'You break it; you bought it!' rule.
