As two couples traveling together without our kids, this townhouse really appealed to us. Physically, it's very nice. What we also loved its location in downtown Charlevoix, within footsteps of restaurants and "nightlife." We loved the Tap Room next door (great acoustic guitar on Sunday night) for craft beers and casual dinner, or Quay across the street for a more refined dinner (try the mushroom salad and the whitefish provencal--both incredible!), or the bakery right across the street for home-baked goods and good coffee in the morning. The townhouse itself has a nice big deck and gas grill for dinner at home. In addition to Round Lake and Lake Charlevoix, Charlevoix itself is close to lots of great lakes for boaters (Torch Lake is a must--it's beautiful!), and less than an hour from Traverse City/Old Mission Peninsula wine country. Two golf courses very close by; Charlevoix more moderate while Belvedere challenging. We managed to do all of it in a week.
Because you're so close to shops and restaurants, there's a good buzz of activity all around, loading and shipping happening in the back parking lot, etc. (This does not mar the gorgeous view from the deck.) If you're looking for absence of activity on a deserted lake, look elsewhere. If you like the feeling of being "downtown" (as downtown as Charlevoix can be for a town of less than 3,000 people) while also being immersed in the wonderful Up North culture with beautiful views and high-end accommodations, I would recommend. We hope to return next year!
We had four adults and two children stay and had plenty of room. The suite is more beautiful than the pictures depict. The most relaxing vacation we have had in many years. Want to come back next year. Loved Charlevoix!
Fan that was installed for tap bar next door was very loud could hear it when trying to fall asleepb could not open window in condo due to fan noise
We rented this condo to stay in over the weekend of my sisters wedding. It was amazing! Loved sitting on the deck and watching the boats go by. The kitchen was amazing! The bedrooms and bathrooms so clean and adorable. Loved the claw foot tub in the master bath. We had our hair and makeup done in front of the big picture windows over looking the lake and were able to take the best pictures getting ready for the big day. It was absolutely perfect! I'd go back in a heart beat.
I am in love with this property! Words can't come close to describing how perfect it was for our stay. It is luxury meets functionality. The pictures are great but not nearly as good as the real thing. Thank you so much it was truly our home away for our daughters wedding!
In town for daughter's wedding and need a place for 6 adults to stay. Found this listing and read the description...the description is good but the suite is even better. This suite was perfect for us. Great lay out. Great kitchen, dining, living area. Well appointed and can handle a good sized crowd. The master suite is exceptional. Both of the other two bedrooms were great. Queen size bed in one and twin beds in the other. Second bathroom is very nice. Location, perfect right downtown. With entry into the suite from either main street(front) or marina(back) they work well. The parking spot is ideal, just a few steps away from suite in the marina parking lot. Overall excellent place to stay, will not disappoint.
