Experience the spirit of Manteo on Roanoke Island in the Outer Banks. Built in 1900, with white picket fences, many large rooms with original wide plank pine floors. You can step back in time. The home is filled with period antiques and surrounded with extensive landscaping. There are plenty of outdoor areas with rocking chairs / table and chairs to sit and relax. One block from the waterfront with art galleries, restaurants, water sports, coffee shops and history center.
You can enjoy your morning coffee rocking on the front porch watching the sunrise and the world pass. Take a short stroll (1 block) to enjoy a fresh breakfast then browse art galleries, unique shops or see the replica of the Elizabethan II ship that the colonists sailed.
Jump on the bikes and ride along the paved bike path to the north end of the island to see the Lost Colony Theater, Elizabethan Gardens or nature trails. Or, head to the beach (10 minutes away) for an enlightening experience on the Outer Banks, some of the best beaches in America.
After a day of fun and sun, unwind at the house then cook a gourmet dinner on the grill and eat in the screened in porch or in the antique filled formal dining room. Or walk to a delicious dinner at one of the wonderful restaurants in downtown Manteo. Or you may want to explore one of the hundreds of restaurants on the beach.
You will find plenty of activities to keep you busy and many unique spots if you want to kick back and relax.

We really enjoy the spirit of the Outer Banks and want to share the peacefullness of our Manteo home with you.
It is located in Manteo which is like the TV show 'Mayberry'. It is also the location of where the first colonists landed in America. It is filled with history and culture. It is within walking distance of a lot of various attractions and only a 10 minute drive to the oceanfront. It is within walking distance of grocery stores, banks, drug stores, etc...
It is peaceful and very relaxing - a good place to 'unwind' after boating or a day at the beach.
Roanoke Island Festival Park, Lost Colony, North Carolina Aquarium on Roanoke Island, Jennette's Pier and Outer Banks beaches.
