Just returned from a trip to Paris and beautiful Burgundy and I felt compelled to write a review of our stay in this Paris apartment right away! We spent 5 days in this apartment with our two boys, aged 13 and 6. Alexis was fabulous to work with, so prompt with answering all of my questions (and there were many :)) and staying in touch throughout. She emailed me detailed recommendations on dining, shopping and fun activities. The housekeeper was on vacation when we arrived but Alexis took the time and trouble to prepare and email me ahead of time, videos with instructions on how to work the sofa bed and the apartment locks. As a result we had no problem at all getting ourselves into the apartment and settling in.
The apartment is lovely, so peaceful and quiet despite its central location in the heart of bustling Marais. There are plenty of stores of every kind right in the neighborhood--a convenience store right next door, a good size department store, fresh produce stand, boulangerie, pharmacy, and even a couple of boutiques and a shoe shop. We walked to the Hotel de Ville, Notre Dame and Saint Chapelle on a sunny day. Bastille metro is a 2 minute walk with connections to all the major sights as well as the train station. The apartment is clean, well furnished and equipped with everything a family would need to make their stay comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped and we prepared breakfast there daily and cooked a few lovely meals too, with fresh produce purchased at the weekly markets. Great spice collection and a variety of teas and coffee in the kitchen! It made us feel totally at home. The bathroom is spacious, with double sinks, a shower and a soaking tub that made getting ready in the morning a breeze! The beds are very comfortable and the convertible sofa bed worked well for our boys. Washing machine and wifi worked great! And yes, plenty of power outlets fitted with adapters all over the apartment :).
Thank you Alexis, for your attention to detail and for helping make our stay in Paris truly comfortable and enjoyable!
I've stayed in this beautiful apartment several times, and it keeps getting better. it's like staying at a friend's home.
The amenities are not your usual Ikea quality that you find in a rental. So much better than that! Sharp knives, placements, cutting boards, toaster, hot water kettle, lovely plates and glasses. Good quality pots and pans.Several different ways to make your morning coffee or espresso. Very soft sheets, extra blankets, and even bathrobes! Plenty of storage room. And don't bother bringing any adapters - I found almost every outlet had one ready for our use. The owner is attentive to every detail, and responds quickly to questions during your stay.
Several metro stops are nearby, and a bus stop is almost right outside the door. Markets are close by, cafes and restaurants are very convenient. A perfect home away from home for your holiday in Paris!
I can't wait to come back.
My husband and I spent six wonderful nights in this Paris apartment, joined for a few nights by our college aged son (who said the double sofa bed was very comfortable). The apartment was extremely cozy, spotlessly clean, and very well equipped. The kitchen and bathroom were ample and well equipped by Parisian standards. The location in the Marais was the perfect balance of easy access to the main tourist attractions while at the same time offering a true neighborhood feel with fabulous local shops and restaurants, along with the Bastille Open Air Market on Thursdays and Sundays. The apartment offers easy access to convenient metro and bus lines. Having lived in Paris many years ago, I always thought of myself as a left bank kinda gal, however, the Marais has such a lovely neighborhood feel, I’m so happy that we made the choice to stay here. (And my old left bank neighborhood was overrun by chaotic traffic!) Alexis was delightful to work with and we couldn’t recommend this apartment highly enough.
This is a great apartment! First of all, its in a perfect neighborhood. Walk to restaurants, shops, parks, and the Metro. Buy wine, a baguette and cheese for a leisurely lunch in the apartment. There are benefits here that we would not have enjoyed in a small hotel room.
The kitchen is fully equipped and the bathroom is very roomy with a large bathtub. What a comfortable mattress. And after a long day of walking this was very much appreciated.
This beautifully maintained and thoughtfully equipped apartment in the Marais is the perfect Paris retreat. Alexis has thought of every detail to make her guests feel at home and comfortable. Located in the Marais, he location could not be any better. The neighborhood is upscale, friendly, packed with great restaurants and shops. It is steps away from two Metro stations and several bus stops. I highly recommend the Canauxrama tour of the Canal Saint Martin which departs steps from The Bastille. This lovely apartment has spoiled me for any other location in Paris and I hope to return soon. Alexis is a joy work with and her detailed instructions and recommendations are spot on.
We loved our week in Paris in this beautiful apartment. It was nicely furnished, comfortable and clean. The bathroom was a good size and the large bath was a pleasure. The kitchen had everything you might need. The location was excellent - close to everything, quiet (the apartment faced an internal courtyard), and an elevator. You immediately felt at home. Alexis (the owner) couldn't have been any more helpful. Would highly recommend this apartment to family and friends, and would definitely stay again if returning to Paris - cannot get a better recommendation than that.
Location, location, location! This spacious 1 bedroom apartment is in the center of one of Paris' most desired neighborhoods - a short walk to either the Bastille or St Paul metro stops, as well as the beauty of Place Des Vosges the Seine and Ile St Louis! And from this comfortable central apartment, you can experience the best Paris has to offer with ease and safety - all the while living in a neighborhood still full with 'real' Parisiens! Historic and beautiful Place Des Vosges is only 1 1/2 blocks away. And devoted foodies will love the apartment's full kitchen and dining room, equipped to enjoy the best of the fresh food and produce all around - within a few blocks in any direction, you will find 4 bakeries, 2 cheese shops, an organic market, 1 supermarket, 2 fruit and vegetable stands, 3 convenience stores, a fresh fish market, and a twice-weekly farmers market ! Of course, also restaurants, cafes, clothing stores, museums and more!!
Other Activities: Bastille Farmers Market twice a week, the river Seine and Ile St Louis a 5 minute walk. Restaurants and shops galore. Super safe area.
