The Marais in Winter

Your apartment was exactly as advertised and portrayed, clean, attractive, quiet and comfortable, the location ideal, with bakeries, chocolate, cheese and wine shops within a short walk and only minutes from the Line 1 Metro stop at Bastille. The wi-fi and telephone kept us in touch with family and friends back home, the heating was perfect, the bath large and comfortable. Breakfast in was easy and we very much enjoyed dinner at excellent nearby restaurants Autour du Saumon, l'Osteria and l'As du Fallafel. Having lived in France for 3 years and visited many other times, we were hesitant about a winter visit. In fact, the sky was gray, the rain frequent, the snow occasional during our 12 day stay, but the comfort and warmth of your apartment provided a wonderful retreat from the elements. And Paris is Paris anytime of the year. Museums, walking tours in the Marais with its historic Hotels, narrow lanes and interesting boutiques, the Latin Quarter, the Tuileries to Concorde and on to the Etoile, the grand sites and sights were all there and not crowded with tourists. Our granddaughter was thrilled to see Paris for the first time and we were delighted to show it to her. Your lovely apartment was very much a piece of that and we would recommend it as a perfect base for any one at any time of the year.
