We don't post front yard photos, the address or the map for security purposes. We know that is important to travelers so if you are a serious inquirer, we are happy to give you that info. We love our neighbors and want to respect there privacy. We know those of you who may be interested in our home will understand.
We LOVE sharing our home with families, church retreats, corporate travelers, Snow Birds, Senior Travelers...what a joy it is to have such a great home and be able to allow others to enjoy a relaxing home away from home.
Vicki Hewitt purchased this house in 2007
We always dreamed of having a retreat camp...when 'The Eagle's Nest' fell into our lap, we could not have imagined how our retreat camp idea would turn out to be a retreat home. We bought the house from family with the idea of renting it and eventually retiring here...but God had other plans...and His plans are always so much better!
Besides all of the already mentioned benefits, the lake house is laid out where the bedrooms are on one end, the family room with the television is in the middle, and the kitchen, dining and large game room/den area are on the far end. Several guests have commented that we need to let people know more about the layout, because it is so functional. When the football game is going on the big TV in the living room, the rest of the family (not so interested in the noisy TV) have a great place to gather and play games, cook, eat...just enjoy being together. Oh! And we have converted the garage into a game room for foosball and airhockey. Other benefits are a large back yard with shade trees, a boat dock to fish and enjoy the water and the sunsets.
The property has been updated by the current owners with a great deal of care. It is a soothing place to stay, especially the owners bedroom retreat and bath which looks out to the lake, with double living areas so all can have their own space. Perfect for elderly as it is all on one level with easy drive up and unloading. A great place to stop and unwind, especially if you like to fish, or kayak, or boat, or all. You can arrive with your toothbrush and a change or two of clothes, a cooler of food, and and be pretty much set for the weekend, The picture of the covered boat dock where we fished all weekend pretty much captures it all. Thanks,.
Eagle's Nest was a wonderful house with everything one would need for a relaxing lake weekend even though the backyard is where one will spend all their time! The views were amazing throughout the day, and the set up makes you feel secluded and not on top of your neighbor.
Kitchen is well stocked and bedrooms all very comfortable. Renters were so easy and accommodating!
My wife and I enjoyed our stay at the house which was everything we expected and more. Vicki was very nice to deal with, and everything went smoothly. Sitting out in the boathouse in the evenings was very relaxing. The house had just about everything you could want and was very comfortable. This is surely a place we would want to go back to someday!
What a wonderful lake house! I will never drive to Galveston now that I've visited Eagles Nest. Beautfiul back yard with grill and table/chairs on patio - we ate outside every meal. I spent hours in the hammock listening to the ducks and waves and relaxing. You only need to bring your clothes and food - condiments/seasonings/coffee all provided. Tons of games/dvds/puzzles/air hockey/foosball. Kayaks provided along with life jackets and water shoes. Vicki and Tom are the perfect hosts. I highly recommend you check their home out for your next gathering.
We wanted to do something special to celebrate my boyfriend's 30th birthday and what better way to celebrate than a weekend on the lake?! We began our search for the right place and when we found Eagle's Nest we knew it was the one. The owner Vicki is wonderful to work with! All of the details were ironed out before we arrived Thursday afternoon. The house itself is even larger than the online pictures give it credit for. We were blown away by the size and quality of the place. The kitchen area is large and we were easily able to cook for everyone. There is also a grill available on the back deck that we made good use of. The boat dock is directly behind the house. We brought a ski boat and it fit nicely in the lift. The view of the lake from the back is stunning and very peaceful. We slept ten people in the house comfortably and everyone felt they had their own space. The garage is equipped with air hockey and foosball tables and there are board games in the living room to keep all entertained. Overall I would highly recommend this location if you are looking for a vacation spot on Lake Conroe. It's a beautiful house with a wonderful owner and we have added it to our list of places to return on a regular basis.
Vicki, we had a great time, just like everyone else on the reviews, we were amazed on how nice the property was and how well stocked the cabinets were with everyday items (coffee, sugar, etc...) you pretty well think of everything. We are looking forward to our next stay their, another item you should know the neighbors were great, thanks again- John
