A remarkably private home located in the most exclusive area of Palmas del Mar with many first-class amenities...a large Swimming Pool with a Jacuzzi surrounded by lush vegetation, Decks for sunbathing, a Private Jacuzzi, a Game/TV room with a Pool Table, etc. You'll love to Grill by the pool in our stone BBQ and Wet Bar with refrigerator. A Modern Spacious Kitchen awaits you with a cozy Bay Window and an island with comfortable barstools that will help keep the party going and the chef accompanied. The Master Bedroom with a private porch and a romantic round Jacuzzi for two is unique. Of course the house is fully air conditioned. Finally, the ocean views from the pool and the second and third floor balconies are magnificent! Add the amenities that Palmas has to offer and you can sense how fantastic this place and your vacation will be. This house was built with all the comfort and amenities that an Owner ('me') felt were indispensible for the Good Life. ENJOY I

The technical amenities of the house: Our home is equiped with several technical amenities which can come in handy if for some reason (not common) there is a system wide problem with the utilities. It has a large (30 amp) generator that will power the whole house (including most of the airconditioners) in the event of a power outage. This generator has an automatic transfer switch which will turn it on automatically when the power goes out and turn it off when it comes back. We also have a 25,000 gallon cistern that can be used if the water supply from the water utility is shut down (again not common ). The kitchen is equipped with a reverse osmosis water filter which supplies puritied water to the sink in the kitchen and to the refrigerator (no need to buy water at the store!). While the above facilities may not be necessary, they could come in very handy should the unlikely situation arise. Again this house was built as a home for my family and I once was a Boy Scout whose motto is 'Be prepared'.

Garden and green areas: Our house has 4,000 sq. ft of living area and is built on a one half acree of land bordering a very large green area. We grow on the property Orange, Greatfruit, Guava, Mango, Banana and Lemon trees. We also have beautiful orquids by the pool. The fruit from these trees attract all kinds of birds which chirp you to sleep and to wake up.(No roosters, thank God). We also border a large green area with lush vegetation and even a stream. A very special area for those who love the outdoors.

About Jose Beauchamp

Born and grew up in P.R. Studied at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Earned a law degree from the University of P.R. and a masters degree in law from the University of London. I retired when I was 55 years old except that I currently run the rental of my house, which sometimes is a full time job!! I live with my girlfriend, Lissette, who is the editor of the magazine Live and Life in Palmas. Why Jose Beauchamp chose Humacao

I actually had the house built for my family with the idea of living in it, which I did for 16 years. That is why the house has so many amenities (it was not built as an investment but as a home for me and my family). The reason I chose Palmas del Mar to build my house was that It was, and is, a resort combined with a community. It is by the sea, with beaches, and other amenities like golf, tennis, horsebackriding, boating, etc. It has two marinas with sailboats for hire, scuba diving, deep sea fishing, snorkeling, not to mention the 12 restaurants, hotel with casino. In short, it is a little town where many of the homeowners travel by golf carts or jog on the paths. What's not to like? Oh, I forgot security. It is a gated community with security guards constantly patroling the areas.

What makes this house unique

The location of the house gives it a beautifull view of the ocean and the island of vieques. The living area, including the rooms face the eastern view and most of the time will receive the tradewinds which come from the east. Kids love this house with the pool, jacuzzi and game room. I guess I'm basically a kid too because I love this house also!!

Notes:
The house is wheelchair accessible via ramp to the pool area (game room, bathroom, bedroom and pool. There is a second ramp that leads from the garage to the 1st floor where the kitchen and Dinning area are, as well as 2 of the bedrooms and 2 of the baths. I was the owner of a home medical equipment company and became sensitized to the special needs of the elderly.

Jose - I just wanted to let you know we had a wonderful stay at your beautiful home last weekend. Thank you so much for answering all of my questions and having Rudy attend to the couple of issues we had. Overall, it was an unforgettable weekend and in no small part to the amenities at your home and within Palmas del Mar. Also, it was GREAT to meet you and your girlfriend in person. Please let me know if you get any of the photos back from Friday night, I'd love to see them!

I have heartily recommended and will continue to recommend Palmas del Mar and your home to my friends who are seeking a relaxing getaway.

Great space/amazing views

We had a wonderful time on our trip to Humacao. The house is in a resort community about 45 min from San Juan. A group of 2 families with 4 adults and 2 toddlers, we were each able to have our own area of the house and there were 2 empty bedrooms and multiple empty beds. The house had everything we could need including the most amazing views of the ocean and Viequez. The adults spent nap time in the pool and jacuzzi admiring the view and looking for iguanas. The beach club nearby (pay for entry) had a children's pool with slides and two huge water slides for the adults. The beach located off the golf course was clean and quiet. We also stocked up the kitchen at the local Walmart and Ralph's and the kichen had what we needed to prepare our meals. While the house is a distance from San Juan and requires a car, it was well worth it for the amazing views and relaxing activities this home offers.

Jose...Mary joins me in thanking you for your gracious anniversary gift at the restaurant last night. We had a ball there, at your fabulous home, on Capt Matt's boat to the islands....a wonderful family celebration ...45 years in the organizing! We hope to return soon. Rudy was a great attentive help except he didn't improve my golf drives against those of 40 year old sons...that's the deal ...best to you and your girlfriend....Kenny

We met at the house as a family of 15 and the house was large enough to accomodate everyone comfortably. We had a great time and the first night we were there we ate a fabulous restuarant on the premises that had authentic puerto rican food && some of the best mofongo i've had ((aside from my grandparents)). We were able to enjoy the island finally as tourists for a change and enjoyed isla verde beach ((30 minute drive from the house)), old san juan ((40 minjute drive from house)) the bacardi factory ((30 minute drive)) and we took the scenic route, unintentionally, to lares, puerto rico for some amazing ice cream ((1.5 hour drive if done correctly)). While in Old San Juan, I highly recommend going to eat at El Patio de Sam which is known for their hamburgers, per travel + leisure magazine as well as there local food && the owner // manager of the restuarant was very gracious.

When at the house, we were greeted by Rudy the house manager who was very welcoming and very helpful. We did run out of propane for the grill but it was replaced within an hour. We did our groceries at the local wal-mart which was a 5 minute drive from the home which was great.

The general area of the home && grounds were beautiful and the view from all the balconies was our favorite part. We found ourselves gathering on the main balcony off of the kitchen every night for hours. I will highly recommend the home to anyone who's interested in the property.

Great Vacation

My visit to Puerto Rico was great. We had a Chef who cooked and the food was delicious. She was great with helping us decide what we were going to do from day to day. The house was nice and Jose is a great host. The only issue I had and reported to Jose, was the master bathroom is a little dated and the shower never put out hot water so my showers were cold during my time there. Because of the cold water issue, the jacuzzi in the master bedroom was not utilized. I hope this is fixed before the next group stays so they can enjoy the full experience of the house. Other than that, everything else to include the pool and outside hot tub was great!
Owner's Response: I personally could not believe how far Rosa, the Chef, went to make you guys enjoy your stay. I will recommend her to all of my renters! It was certainly an extra to the great ammenities offfered by the sorroundings. You are right about the shower in the master bedroom and we have taken the steps to solve the problem. It arose because we just installed an on-line water heater and it obviously was not of sufficient capacity to handle such a large house. We have installed a second water heater which did the trick! You learn something everyday!!
