Just a short walk to Haleiwa Town, known for its country atmosphere and filming of Bay Watch Hawaii, and you'll find quaint shops and excellent restaurants. So either way, you can get away from it all or be in Waikiki within a quick 40 minute driving. It really is the perfect vacation destination!
Aloha . . . love living on the North Shore and enjoy the quiet relaxed atmosphere. It's our paradise!
Unique location just close enough to Haleiwa Town to walk or ride a bike yet tranquil and private.
The pictures of the beach don't do this property justice. Its location is less than 100 metres from the shore and you can see it quite clearly from the verandah. Nice quiet street. The owners live upstairs and are very helpful and friendly. If you prefer the quieter beaches, then this is for you.
Quaint 2 bedroom one bathroom just steps away from a beautiful, secluded beach. Home was beautifully furnished with all of the amenities you could possibly need for a wonderful beach vacation. Within walking/biking distance to town for groceries, dining or souvenir shopping. Spectacular snorkeling and boogie boarding/surfing nearly outside of the back door. The homeowner was very informative and hospitable. Best vacation ever! We'll most certainly be back!!
We really loved Hale'iwa. This was a very good place to stay aside from the fact that there is no a/c...however, it's Hawaii and very few places for rent have it anyway. Very convenient to the beach.
My wife, teenage daughter and myself stayed at this vacation rental in Haleiwa for 10 days in Dec 2013. The property was what we had hoped for, nice, comfortable and clean. The description and photos are exactly as it is. The beach is a short stroll through the gate in the rear fence to where I could do a surf check of Haleiwa each day or in the afternoon see the turtles resting on the beach towards Haleiwa beach.
Susan was helpful the few times we saw her once we were there and very helpful prior to our arrival.
We would easily stay there again, so many things to do so close, Haleiwa shopping, restaurants and small eateries a few minutes by car just up the road, the Nth Shore beaches only a short drive away, Waikele shopping a 20 minute drive. Waimea Falls was worth seeing as was being on the beach for the finals day of the Pipeline Masters. Killer Tacos, Spaggatini's, The Grass Skirt, Haleiwa Joe's Seafood restaurant near the Rainbow Bridge and definitely Waialua Bakery for lunch (next to the Malama Markets). We paddleboarded up the river that goes under the Rainbow Bridge and saw turtles everywhere.
We had a great time.
This was our first time to Hawaii (Oahu)
- Nice clean unit; very comfortable; supplied with lawn chairs, towels etc
- Close to beach (just a trot across the grassy lawn) coffee in hand
- Swam with the sea turtles everyday on the beach behind the unit. Discovered that the turtles came up on beach (further down by the local park - right side - around 5 pm) for the night,a must see!Just look and don't aggravate them! Bring your own water camera, you will not regret this decision. We purchased a disposable from the local store and were very disappointed with the quality of prints (i know...it was a cheap camera!) and we wish we had the ability to capture some of the amazing underwater sights.
-Unit was close to all amenities (local grocery store;restaurants etc)
-Food from the blue shrimp truck was delicious
-Costco is only a 35 minute drive away...we stocked up on food and beverages for reasonable prices
-Pearl Harbour visit...it is FREE (for the most part). If you want to go to the site of the Arizona, you need to get there VERY early (we were there by 9 am and could not get on until noon...tickets are free). In the meantime we just browsed through the museum areas...very informative and moving. All for the cost of FREE! Only special tours etc are chargeable
-Climb the Diamond Crater. $1 entrance fee (on foot). Take your time on the climb along with water and your camera. Great photographic shots from the top of the city and the beautiful surrounding area
- Hanauma Bay...we got there around 1 pm in the afternoon and did manage to get in. The water was a bit rough so we found that it wasn't as great as we thought. Our drive along the coast to stop at places like Sharks Cove yielded us views of more underwater life than we could ever have imagined
-Bring own snorkel gear.No hassles with broken/worn equipmt
- Polynesian Cultural Centre...we took in the dinner and show. They do a beautiful job!
- If you get a chance, go to the Turtle Bay resort...there is an area for public access and you will not be disappointed...beautiful beaches and rocky area
-Driving around the island was very easy and relaxing...be sure to do the whole loop..with stops you can do this very comfortably in a day trip
The location of this property is ideal in that it is close to almost everything and yet still has a tranquility and peacefulness that many are looking for.
Chat with the locals...they are friendly and full of good information.
Will be back!
We had a wonderful stay in Haleiwa and were very pleased with our accommodations. Betsy and Susan were very easy to work with and made our stay comfortable and enjoyable. We had lovely views from the apartment and were just a short jaunt to the beach. The apartment was clean and had everything we needed. We have stayed in Honolulu before and had not enjoyed the busy and fast-paced environment. Being in Haleiwa was so much more relaxing and laid back. While on Oahu, we enjoyed a day at Polynesian Cultural Center, spent a few hours wading through the tide pools at Sharks Cove (and even saw an eel), wandered around the Swap Meet at Aloha Stadium where we found a few souvenirs, visited the Bishop Museum (one of my favorite places to learn about the history and culture of Hawaii) and while in Haleiwa, we had to get dinner at a Shrimp Shack (it was wonderful-- but go early as they tend to close early) and of course we enjoyed some shave ice from Matsumoto's. Our family of 5 had a wonderful stay and we would definitely stay here again.
Currently undergoing renovations in the main house, but were not disturbed over our weekend stay. Several large pods took up the front yard, but still space to park our vehicle. Betsy was helpful when we phoned upon arrival, but we did not personally meet Betsy or Susan. The accommodations were exactly as pictured. Everything was clean and tidy, with extra linens readily available. The enclosed lanai, which opened into one bedroom and the living area, was especially nice. It was a great place to relax, play games (Spam game in the closet). It was fairly hot and humid. Ceiling fans in every room helped, but it was still very warm and sticky. The walk to the beach was out the back fence and through an open lot... close and convenient. We enjoyed watching the turtles. The apartment is up an outside flight of stairs and unsuitable for anyone with stability issues. If you like to sleep in, this may not be the place for you. The early morning roosters didn't bother me since I am an early riser and there was a 3-hour time difference for us. My husband, however, was woken up much earlier than he would have liked. Proximity to Haleiwa town was just a short drive, but weekend traffic might put some off. Be sure to try the pineapple bowl (Dave's pineapple ice cream, shaved ice, pineapple syrup with chunks) at the General Store, whose shaved ice we much prefer to Matsumoto's. Overall, a very lovely place to stay. Would be better in cooler weather and without roosters, but beautiful.
Located at an amazing beach where one can swim with turtles all day long. Skydiving and gliding available at Dillingham airfield--10 minutes away
