HEART OF GEORGETOWN, WALK 2 EVERYTHING, GORGEOUS PRIVATE GARDEN, FULL KITCHEN

Georgetown Apartment Rental Photos and Description

Historic Georgetown Gem. Charming apartment in private home, full kichen with dishwasher, full bath with tub, work area with cable & WIFI. Walk to restaurants, shops, cafes, galleries, museums. Ample public transit options, parking pass with longer stays

A. DESCRIPTION:

Spectacular location in the heart of historic Georgetown, one of the most sought-after neighborhoods in Washington, DC! The apartment is in the lower level of a private historic home and features a private entrance from the outside, full kitchen with dishwasher, full bath with tub, laundry facilities dining area, sitting area, built-in desk and queen bed. As with most apartments in private town-homes in Georgetown, this one too is located in the lower or basement level. Because you are on the lower level you may hear the owner of the house (a single) and normal household activity. You have use of the lovely landscaped and peaceful garden behind the house to enjoy the morning paper, a good book or a rejuvenating beverage after a day spent sight-seeing.

B. LOCATION:

Walk to everything: public transit, restaurants, cafes, fine shops, wine stores, takeout, gourmet grocery, pastry shops, yoga, pharmacy, library, antique shops and more. The house is located within a block of two of the most significant historic homes in Washington, Dumbarton Oaks and Tudor Place, each with magnificent gardens and open to the public. You could easily spend a day exploring the Georgetown neighborhood with its historic homes and taverns dating back to the revolutionary war, gardens, museums, welcoming parks and peaceful cemeteries

One of two main commercial areas of Georgetown, Wisconsin Avenue, is just a block away so you can walk to The Library, Post Office and dozens of restaurants, cafes, coffee houses, bakeries, wine bars, antique stores, shops, grocery stores, you need! You are just 10 minutes from the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and 15 minutes from the West end of the National Mall with all the museums and memorials.

C. TRANSPORTATION:

Numerous bus services also ply Wisconsin Ave (Metro Bus, Circulator) to take you wherever it is you need to be; The Metro Station, DuPont Circle, Downtown, Penn Quarter, The U.S. Capital, or The National Mall for $1.50. It's far better to be above ground and enjoying the view in this part of the city rather than underground on the Metro.

A new bike share program, Capital Bike Share, has a rental rack just a few blocks away on Wisconsin (just past the Safeway) where you can grab a bike and take it on a one way or round trip ride anywhere in the city.

D. REVIEW:

Rennie – “Beautiful space with koi pond and garden. We had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, including a well-stocked kitchen for cooking and dining in. The WIFI connection and air conditioning were great. The location was the best; in Georgetown-within a short walking distance of the main street, but quiet and tucked among the historic homes. Our host was responsive to our questions, yet we were afforded complete privacy. We would not hesitate to return.”

My business is LUXbnb, we offer short-stay properties in wonderful neighborhoods in Northwest Washington including those areas in high demand by visitors, i.e. DuPont Circle, Georgetown, Palisades and Capitol Hill. We offer studios to full homes for stays of 4 nights up to 8 months. Let us know your travel plans and we will find the best fit for your needs. Be generous and share the knowledge of LUXbnb, your source for short-stay rentals in Washington, with your friends, family and colleagues.

Our latest addition are vacation properties for Washingtonians. See the Washington Vacations section on our website for homes in the nearby mountains. Take a few days away from the bustle of the city to explore our bucolic countryside little changed over the past 2 to 3 centuries. Visit wineries and orchards, significant Civil War battlefields and historic towns, hike the Apalachian Trail or follow in the footsteps of our founding fathers by visiting their homes. There is plenty to do that beckons you to leave the city for a weekend or a week.

A bit about me...I am a former Californian who, after 12 years in DC, is now an honorary Washington native. Being well traveled both domestically and internationally has given me a great appreciation for the enrichment contact with others brings to our experience. I am well-versed on the 'must-see' sights, monuments and museums of our culturally rich city, along with the unique experiences your find only in Washington. We share that insight with our guests in our property Welcome Guides which we send upon confirmation.

We very much enjoy hosting visitors to our Nation's Capital and ensuring that they are able to make the most of their visit.

My wife and I enjoyed our stay in Georgetown. The kitchen was adequately supplied with pots and pans, there was a stove, refrigerator, and dishwasher. I felt at home during our stay. We were able to walk or take public transportation everywhere.

The house is nearing 100 years old and shows some signs. The doors are out of square and require some force to open and close. Furthermore, the entrance is down a narrow flight of stairs that make getting large suitcases up and down tricky. I would not recommend this property for anyone with mobility challenges.

The host introduced himself on the night of our arrival, but did not infringe on our privacy. I would love to stay here again.

Pros: Close to everything, full kitchen, hot showers, wifi.
Cons: Narrow staircase entrance, doors open and close with force

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Georgetown. The apt. is in a wonderful location and very quiet. It is a basement apt so there is are no windows with views. It is quite cute and comfortable, and although basic, had everything we needed. The garden is lovely, and there are lot's of good restaurants/shops a block away. We used nearby, easy to use public transportation. A good choice for the price and location.

The area is very safe and convenient. I especially appreciated that while I was there alone. Yes, and my husband, while he was there, did bump his head a couple of times on one of the overhead beams (he's 6'1"), so that is definitely something you have to be aware of. And the lockbox was not easy to open. Luckily my husband did check in with me so he could force the thing open...otherwise I might still be sitting on the doorstep. I could not open it when I left by myself. The back garden was lovely and, as the owner was away, we had it to ourselves.

Owner's Response: We are very glad to hear that our guest enjoyed the well appointed apartment, the garden and its marvelous location in Georgetown. Our guest noted when she departed that it was her husband who opened the lockbox upon arrival, but that she was not able to get it open upon departure. We checked it out and it was working fine, we have one on every property and they have been 100% reliable, none-the-less we replaced this with a different box.
