Overview

Boulder Cottage Rental Photos and Description

One Bedroom, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 2-8) on Boulder Creek (Ask about the 2nd bedroom!)

Our Canyon Retreat on Boulder Creek is located at the western edge of Boulder, 5 minutes from Pearl Street Mall surrounded by Open Space. The Studio has its own private entrance through an arbor from the ample parking area. And it's just 30 minutes from Eldora Mountain Ski Resort!

The first floor has a small kitchen, bathroom with shower, dining area and living room. There are two pull-out sofa beds for 2-4 extra guests. The entertainment center has a Blueray DVD player, ROKU for access to Netflix, Angry Birds, Amazon for movies, TV series, as well as Pandora for your choice in music. There is also high-speed wireless internet access for your laptops. French doors open on to your large private deck overlooking the creek, with tables, chairs and a gas barbecue.

On the second floor a wall of glass affords a fabulous view of the creek and canyon walls. There is a queen bed and also a futon -- perfect for children who might not want to stay down stairs. There is also a second bathroom with shower and a large closet.

We have added a second 'attic' bedroom, with 3 skylights, adjacent to the upstairs bedroom. It is optional and is renting for an additional $100 a night. It has a queen bed and a sectional. Sleeps 2 - 4. Please arrange this additional rental through the owner. Or if you use 'Book It Now,' send your reservation through with one bedroom and we will upgrade it to 2 and send back to you for payment. Pictures coming soon!

The large deck is fenced and gated for your dogs. There is a mulched 'potty place' and water bowls just for them. For more exercise, they can play in the one acre fenced 'front' yard or you can take them for a Bike Path walk or hike the trails.

The Boulder Bike Path just beyond your front door offers miles of trails for biking and running (3 bikes, helmets and locks are available for your use), Settlers' Park, Flagstaff Mountain and Chautauqua trailheads are all near, and Boulder Canyon Drive leads to the Indian Peaks Wilderness, Eldora Mountain Ski Resort and Rocky Mountain National Park.

Or -- just relax on the deck with a glass of wine and watch the creek flow by -- with an occasional kayak in Spring. If you are a winter visitor, it is a bit like being in an ice castle, with the creek running between small ice cliffs. Snowshoeing and cross-country skiing opportunities are close by, and we are only about 25 miles from Eldora Mountain -- home of the CU National Championship ski team.

We look forward to sharing this truly unique setting with you!

Keywords: Two-story artist's retreat with breathtaking views, right on Boulder Creek yet just steps from the Bike Path. Less than a mile to Pearl Street's restaurants and shops, you'll feel invitingly secluded, surrounded by water and Boulder Canyon's pine-covered mountains. And just 30 minutes to Eldora Ski Resort!

About Dorothy Tucker

Our family of 6 began in Pasadena CA but careers in marketing and arts management took us to Old Greenwich CT and NYC. For college, two of our children, Craig and Katie chose CU. We all fell in love with Boulder! While visiting them one weekend, Charlie and I took our dogs for a walk up the Bike Path and paused on the old creek bridge. There we saw an old house on a pond, surrounded by water and, lo and behold, a 'for sale' sign! And, of course we bought it right then and there! Architectural design had been an avocation of ours for many years, so as soon as possible, NYC was in our rear view mirror and Tucker Design Associates, as well as Tucker Walker Group Real Estate were born in Boulder! Our children are grown now and have families of their own, so we don't need the Studio space year around and are very happy to share it with you!

Dorothy Tucker purchased this cottage in 1990

Why Dorothy Tucker chose Boulder

The property feels remote, far from civilization - surrounded by water, pines, cottonwoods and ever-changing patterns of light on the canyon walls, yet it is five minutes from shopping, world class restaurants, the CU campus, Chautauqua concerts in the summer and skiing Eldora in the Winter!

Guestbook comments from the owner

"I can't heap enough praise on this extra-special, tucked-away spacious studio right on the creek but just a few heartbeats from the center of everything Boulder has to offer. I immediately felt at home with all conveniences, amenities and the most gracious of hosts any traveler could hope for. All I can add is please pick your dates and book it quickly before this secluded paradise really gets discovered!"

The Studio was absolutely beautiful!!! My friends and I took a girls trip and the place was perfect for our stay. We all felt like we were staying in a Pinterest house! Dorothy was so sweet and always ready to help out with anything if needed. I couldn't have asked for a better vacation!

The perfect place

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed at at least 8 other vrbo properties; this is the first 5 star rating I've ever given. The loft is beautiful, exactly as listed. Wonderful views, perfectly situated, easy walk to pearl street or up the hill on well maintained pathways. The owners are lovely and so very accommodating. I think this place would be perfect no matter what time of year.

Amazing property

  • 5 of 5

I can't say enough good things about our stay at the Artist's Retreat. Dorothy and Charlie were so nice and friendly and the studio was perfect! The furnishings were beautiful, and the kitchen was stocked with a variety of coffee and tea, as well as bottled still and sparkling water. It was great to have two full baths, one up and one down. There were even comfy robes for us to use. The views (especially from the upstairs loft) were amazing. It was a little too cold and icy to use the deck and patio, but it was still nice to look at! It was also nice to be so close to town (2-3 minute drive) but to still feel like we were in a cabin in the woods. It was an easy 10-15 minute walk to town along the bike trail that runs right in front of the house. Would go back in a heartbeat and will definitely stay here next time we are in Boulder.

Our Favorite Boulder Getaway

  • 5 of 5

This is our second year in a row that we have stayed at the Artist's Retreat. The hosts are gracious and the accommodations match their charm. I simply cannot suggest a single area of improvement. See you next year.

Perfect Getaway AND Staycation!

  • 5 of 5

The Artist's Retreat was everything we hoped and more! As our "home" away from home for a pre-Christmas week in Boulder, we were thrilled and entirely satisfied with the beautiful and comfortable, very well appointed living space (the pictures are entirely accurate), the stunning expanses and natural surroundings of this amazing property, and the limitless fun opportunities this space afforded us for our wonderful, 4 generation, Family vacation and meet the Grandbaby Holiday celebration. The Owner/Hosts could not have been more gracious and accommodating. While here, we ate out & cooked in, shopped, hiked, made Christmas cookies and decorations, stayed in for relaxing and games, grilled out, had a bonfire, hiked to town, did morning coffee on the deck, and evening kick-backs at the pond/creek, played outside with the dog, and inside with the new grandchild. "We truly marveled all the while at the beauty and fun to be had in ANY season visiting here! As soon-to-be retirees from Chicago with adult children living in Boulder, we are already planning to make this an annual (or more) vacation/reunion local for our family.

Upon arrival we were received at the door with a tour of the beautiful studio. The place was great the location was close to Denver and plenty of ski resorts. They also had plenty of complimentary items and the view was awesome. We loved our stay and will definetely book again!
