Captiva Island. “Happy Daze” - beautiful, child-friendly home with a very private, well heated pool. The home is a very short walk to the beach (the island is only about 600 yards wide, at its widest point) and shops and restaurants in the village.

Our single family home has five bedrooms, four with four attached full baths, two with king beds, one with a queen bed, and one with two sets of bunk beds. There is also a fifth bedroom off the kitchen that is appropriate for children; it has a daybed and a fold-out couch. The house comfortably sleeps twelve people.

The property has an elevator and is accessible for those with disabilities, but is not specifically configured for those with disabilities (does not have hand bars in bathrooms, a roll-in shower, etc.) It also has wireless, broadband cable modem access, a laundry room and other amenities.

This is a bright, cheerful and very comfortable home that is a wonderful place to bring your children for a vacation. Good fun for all; lots of board games, children’s videos and TV, ping-pong and pool tables by the pool! Come see the dolphins, manatees and river otters swimming nearby!

The pool is standard size, sloping to about six feet in depth at the deep end. Pool is kept heated to approximately 90 degrees year round to encourage children to swim and play in the pool, have fun and burn off energy! Please call in advance if you would like the pool temperature lowered.

The stated weekly rental rates include all taxes and fees. There are no additional charges.

Captiva is a great palce for kids and this is a great home to rent!

Our experience was very, very positive and very similar to the other reviewers. I guess the only difference is that the owners appear to have replaced the glass banquet with a conventional dining table that was very nice, seated 8-10, and appeared brand new.

This is a great home and a great value compared to other homes we have rented on Captiva in the past. I'm not sure why the rates are a little low, because this is a super place. Our kids had fun as usual and it is truly very child friendly, with lots of board games, very warm pool (important in December) and a nice ping pong table and pool table by the pool.

We would definitely rent this place again!

Great location, great house

This house seemed too good to be true because it seemed to offer so much more for your money than any of the other rentals I found on Captiva. But we just finished our vacation there and loved it. The house itself is well laid-out in terms of bedrooms/bathrooms and all the furnishings are high quality and as advertised. I'd repeat the comment of a previous poster that we found the big glass dining room table to be not very functional for our needs but it wasn't really a huge deal to us. The pool area with ping pong, pool tables, and a separate beer/mini fridge were excellent.
The location can't be beat. Other than a few trips to Sanibel, we never even had to use the car. Close to the general store, restaurants, beach, marina. Highly recommend. If my family goes back to Captiva for a future trip, I'll definitely try to rent the house again.

Great House!

We had a great week in Happy Daze and would highly recommend this house for large families. The only negative, in our opinion, was the dining room table. It is large and beautiful but not very practical for a group of adults...it is a HUGE, glass, booth-like table built in to the nook area of the kitchen. In order to use the table, it requires A LOT of scooting in and then you are pretty much stuck if you are in the inside. The house is close to the beach and the shopping area...very close to the Bubble Room. We really enjoyed the pool, ping pong table, and the pool table.

Great vacation home!

We have stayed in this home two years in a row and we can't wait to return again! The location is a pleasant short walk to restaurants, shopping and the beach. The house has a great layout with plenty of space and very nice furnishings (the photos are accurate).
